Resumen
The article analyses the reactions provoked in some rural communities of the Peruvian Andean departments of Ayacucho and Apurímac by the agrarian reform approved in 1969 by the military government and subsequently by the arrival of Sendero Luminoso. The agrarian reform aroused great expectations, but also new problems, which facilitated the penetration into the communities of the “senderistas”, who were initially considered as those who could complete the process of redistribution of the land and punish the abusive notables. However, the level of violence they had been using ended up provoking the reaction of the communities.

Resumen
This article approaches the supply of meat in the city of Quito in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, to understand an empirical economy that accounts for forms of relationships, and the construction of social practices that cannot be reduced to those of the formal economy. All kinds of exchange, including meat, carried differentiations and symbolic contents linked to social identities, social mobility and the redefinition of ethnic borders. There it was present, a sociability that is beyond the market, in which an autonomous life develops.

Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the oppression of women in the play La casa de Bernarda Alba (1936) written by the Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca and in the short story “El Cometa Halley” (1986) written by the Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas. Regarding that in the short story, “El Cometa Halley”, Arenas suggests a new end to the play written by García Lorca, this work aimed to understand to what extent some mechanisms of repression and oppression are repeated in both literary works. To do so, it was carried out an analysis of each work and a comparative analysis as well. It was verified that in both works the oppressed repeated with other people the oppression they suffered generating a certain vicious cycle of oppression. Besides, in the play by García Lorca as well as in the short story by Arenas, Adela is a character that stands out for her dissonant voice: in the play, she claims the autonomy over her body and desires and in the short story, she is the voice raised to remember and denounce the injustices lived under maternal subjugation.

Resumen
The adoption of capitalist forms in Cuba is susceptible to observation at both objective and subjective levels, in the social-spatial structure and narrative of its inhabitants. The distribution and occupation of space, as well as the ownership and conditions of housing, are articulated with class and social origin, skin color, consumption capacity as well as income level. This, together with the category of "private property" that operates as a structuring principle of society, has as its effects the subjectivation of capitalist forms and the (dis)identification of subjects with socialism. To show it, I cross some biographical stories obtained from the field research carried out in the municipality of Centro Habana, with sociodemographic data and indicators on the distribution and occupation of space.

Resumen
As a result of the “Racial Acts” of 1938, many Italian Jews chose to leave Italy between 1939 and 1942. Most of them were academics, managers, entrepreneurs, diplomats, merchants and career officers, emigrating towards Switzerland, England, Australia, United States, India, Palestine or in Latin American countries. The new political situation led Argentina of the late ‘30s to promote new and more restrictive laws on immigration. This article is an account on how Italian Jews were able to overcome Argentinian legislation on immigration, providing follow-ups on their successful careers and activities in their respective professions and jobs.

Resumen
This article will focus on the circulation of the urban landscape representations of Buenos Aires´s coast and port between 1910 and 1936. It will analyze how these images were seen as symbols of modernization and progress. In contraposition, the Riachuelo’s coast motifs were understood as paradigms of the picturesque and idyllic of the city´s past. This dialectic of complex images within the city’s visual culture will help us understand how a local modernity imaginary was shaped.

This paper aims at discussing the consequences of the task of the translator when it comes to the translation – made by a Brazilian writer – of the short-stories written by a Uruguayan writer. In this sense, the study of the translations of the short-stories written by Mario Arregui made by Sergio Faraco is crucial to understand the literary streams and exchanges in the context of the South America pampa.

Resumen
Antonello Gerbi’s Americanistic studies are rooted in that historicist culture that has its most important reference in Benedetto Croce. However, starting from his most important book, La disputa del nuovo mondo. Storia di una polemica, 1750-1900, Gerbi will be increasingly influenced also by authors such as Humboldt and especially Meinecke. This article will concern this last aspect with the intention of representing the first step of a more complete work about the thought of Antonello Gerbi.
