This article dialogues with the main phenomenological postulates of the philosopher Maurice Merleau- Ponty, referring to the notion of body from a contemporary perspective. Such a look symbolizes a new understanding of the subject as himself and as a true multi-dimensionality open to others. On the journey of the story, it proposes a representation of the corporeal that allows to distance itself from the classical conceptions that install the body as a technical structure and as a necessary production for the circulation of everyday images. What is being a body? Question and argument of Merleau-Ponty conceived from the substantial relationship between man, daily life and the experience of being-in-the-world.

The distinction between facts judgments and value judgments is the basis, at the same time, of both the neutrality of descriptions and the inherent commitment of the researcher, without devaluing the validity of value judgments. It is relevant to acknowledge the difference between what grounds a fact judgment from what grounds a value judgment. What is invalid -as fact judgment and as value judgment- is the attempt to generate neutral recommendations only from facts, the technocratic idea of an intervention that do not involves commitment. There is no such thing as a neutral action, and the real of neutrality is reduce only to description.

This article seeks to observe the differences between the functional-systemic model and the pragmatic-formal model in their understanding of scientific expertise and its role in modern societies. First, a brief diagnosis about the importance of trust in scientific expertise in contemporary society and how this process has been analyzed in the specialized literature will be made. Then, the description of scientific knowledge will be analyzed from the point of view of the functional systemic model. Using the concepts of functional differentiation and structural coupling, it will be argued that scientific knowledge is here considered a specialized form of communication characteristic of a functional system. Next, the approximation of the formal-pragmatic model is described. Of special importance here are the ideas of lifeworld and public sphere. On the basis of these characterizations, the visions of these authors are compared and the differences are analyzed in relation to their conceptualization of expertise. It is then suggested that the differences between these two models in relation to the ontological status of the lifeworld shape their views of scientific expertise as well as current debates on this topic. The article ends with a summary and possible future line of research.

Sometimes results from qualitative perspective in empirical sociological research shows that observed subjects do not talk about the phenomenon studied. This paper asks about the extent to which this silence can be considered a sociological evidence. If so, then an evidence of what. First it is presented a study that inquiries about the near future to Spanish society about climate change in a qualitative perspective, but an almost absolute silence about the subject by the qualitative perspective. After some interpretations about these results, it becomes necessary to redefine the concept of discourse for the sociological research, with special references to Foucault and Boltanski, in order to point out its basic and essential elements. In this way, we proposed that a phenomenon as relevant as climate change does not reach to daily conversation because it is socially sedimented (following Schutz's work on relevance) and it has not got a discourse.

This is the final part of a three-part paper. In the first part, it was proposed that a notion of phenomenon type could be relevant to tackle some crucial issues about incommensurability. Then, part II had a focus on some remaining problems associated with scientific realism and the possibility of scientific progress. In this part, some ways to solve them are offered, without abandoning the classical features of incommensurability. This can be done by showing that two rival theories may refer to the same phenomenon type even if their ontologies are incompatible and assuming at the same time a non-naïve, moderate scientific realism.

During the first decades of the 20th Century, in Buenos Aires the practice of gathering in pubs and celebrating banquets represented both a group habit and a ritual of personal initiation for many intellectuals. Those habits and rituals were related to the creation of spaces of sociability. Moreover, intellectuals were choosing especially German places for eating and drinking. However, the expansion of this immigrant gastronomy also spread across other social segments. The aim of this article is to focus on those "German" way of cooking and drinking in Buenos Aires as a part of a culinary culture marked by hybridization.

This article aims at characterizing the discourse of intentional communities. To reach this goal, we deploy a qualitative approach based on case-studies to describe and contrast the phenomenon of intentional communities taking place in Chile. Through discourse analysis we describe three initiatives along the axes: the vision of themselves, vision of society and practices aimed at creating ideal forms of living in community. Our findings show that discourses articulate disciplinary knowledge and practices with traditional and spiritual views. We recognize social transformations based on personal change and the role played by mediated communication through the internet in revealing disputes among community initiatives that suggest alternatives to what the norm in neoliberal Chilean society is, promoting ways to reinvent the individual, the community and relationship with nature.

The diversity of university students and the emerging inclusive policies justify the intention to explore their applicability in the field of higher education. The aim of this study is to investigate the policies and regulations promoted by the university to guarantee access and permanence of students and also to find out how the university community perceives it. For this purpose, the case study has been used and interviews and focus groups with the rectoral team, university services, teachers and students have been carried out. Furthermore, the main documents of the institution has been analyzed. The main results show how the Universitat Jaume I is organized to address diversity and promotes actions aimed at this, however participants consider that some aspects of access and permanence should be improved. The conclusions point out the need to generate an inclusive policy that develops all services and regulations from an intercultural and inclusive approach.
