Resumen
The burnout syndrome describes a set of negative attitudes such as indifference or distant attitudes towards others and a lack of effective self-assessment in health workers. Nevertheless, another group can show high rates of work commitment, concentration and strength. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between those characteristics of the burnout syndrome with those of work engagement, selfefficacy and resilience in special education teachers. The Resilient Performance Teacher Scale (Lozada García, et al., 2012), the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (Schaufeli, et al., 1996), the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (Schaufeli, et al., 2002) and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (Baessler y Schwarzer, 1996) were applied to 80 teachers serving students with severe disabilities and an average of work experience of 18.24 years. The main findings highlight that in 34.38% of teachers there is arelationship between emotional fatigue with less work engagement and low levels of self-efficacy and resilient performances.

Resumen
The purpose of the present inquiry was to know the performance differences between boys and girls in elementary school with respect to basic curricular learning in mathematics. The Evaluation of Mathematical Achievement [ELMA] was applied to 444 children from 1st to 3rd grade of public schools in east of Mexico City. Among the main findings stand out the statistically significant differences between men and women in the areas of: seriation, SDN, mental calculation and multiplicative problems. The results allowed to observe the strengths and the areas of opportunity, by grade as well as differentiated by sex. When considering that performance is not static, the authorities will be able assume decisions that help improve the mathematical learning process.

Resumen
The current reflection seeks to understand the relationship among teachers and researchers with educational authorities in the context of higher education politics and program evaluations. This relationship is analyzed from the teacher’s points of view of their personal and subjective experience and its impact on their character armour and moral quality. The argument explores the Me - You type existential relationship, in contrast with the Me - That/It type of relationship and its marks on a teacher’s body as a social, psychological, and emotional reality, as well as an interpersonal and intrapersonal reality.

Resumen
The role of university professors in not only based on teaching (explaining-evaluating) knowledge which will have a limited validity. Helping students to “learn to learn” and “learningservice autonomously is vitally important for students to develop cognitive and personal aspects and their training and professional preparation. Institutions of higher education (IHE) mustchallenge students to overcome the mandatory requirement for passing the subjects and instilling critical thinking, human quality, social values, among others. For that reason, this study proposes an alternative pedagogical model to help students to develop professionally with social and human engagement through a Model of a Community Center for EducationalDevelopment (CCED). In this analysis, the model was supported by the infrastructure and the social services that an IHE has at the Toluca Valley with the purpose of serve the more vulnerable sectors of the surrounding population. As a starting point, communities were jointly diagnosedto detect real needs and possible solution in order to prove that the project is feasible. Therefore, the courses and workshops could be developed based on the needs of the vulnerable population.

Resumen
This paper seeks to identify how high school teachers assume their teaching identity as a part of three axis: vocation, satisfaction and teacher discomfort. The sample was comprised of 17 teachers from two public institutions. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect information. The main findings include ambivalence in that the teachers do not nominally identify as teachers, yet feel satisfied with the result of their teaching work. All interviewees exhibited an awareness of the responsibility and social commitment inherent in their work.
