Resumen
This article describes a business game applied in one of the last courses of an MBA. The database analyzed consists of outcomes from 47 classes and 1410 students. The aim of the game is to integrate skills and abilities acquired during the program. It considerers an evaluation system with 39 items based on an Excellence Model which covers important aspects of the management process. Six of the evaluation items are financial goals, and the remaining 33 go through peer evaluation. These items deal with consumer-supplier aspects as well as management issues. A reduction of dimensionality was attained through factor analysis, yielding 14 factors. The research question is: Is it possible to identify relevant factors for winning the game? Two distinct tests were applied to answer the question: significance of a logit model parameters and t-test for equality of means. A generalized linear model using a logit link function and a Bernouilli distribution were fit to the data, confirming that most factors with statistically significant differences in the mean between winners and other participants were also significant in the model. Participants feedback confirmed that the game was well received by the students: it boosted students’ morale, increased interest in the subject, fostered entrepreneurship and less absenteeism, increased class participation, awareness of teamwork and planning, and created an environment which favored discussion on business ethics.

Resumen
This study aims to analyze the managerial discourse used to control professors in private higher education institutions (HEIs). The aim is to verify the characteristics of the managerial power and individuals that influence the production of the managerial discourse, apprehend the mechanisms of the promotion of the discourse in the researched organizations, and to understand how the managers symbolize the managerial role operated within the managerialist ideology in the HEI and make it subjective. A qualitative and exploratory-descriptive research was carried out based on a study with twelve managers of three private HEI in a city located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The data was collected through interview, based on a semi-structured and in-depth script. The analysis of data was based on the Critical Discourse Analysis inspired by the theoretical-methodological assertions by Fairclough (2016) together with the mode of inductive analysis under the perspective of the Clinical Sociology. The results revealed that the managerial discourse used to control professors is permeated by characteristics of managerial power in the ideological, cultural, political, economic and psychological domain. It is produced by the managers with the influence of the owners/board of directors/executive director. It was observed that the managers need to promote the discourse using mainly mechanisms of mediation. Managers subjectivized and symbolized the work and the institution positively in order to promote them based on a point of view of pleasure. Then, shortly afterward when questioned about working conditions, they revealed that they work in a context permeated by the managerialist ideology.

Resumen
There is a growing demand for studies on the transition from school to work in Brazil. This comes at a time that there is an increase in enrollment for higher education and when there is a lack of skilled labor force in the country. However, many of the existing studies refer to empirical research, without considering some particularities of this transition process, such as socioeconomic specificities and the recent increase in access to higher education in Brazil. This article aims to discuss the concept of transition from school to work, integrated with other concepts such as social mobility and social class, based on Pierre Bourdieu’s and Jessé Souza’s theories. It is proposed that the transition from school to work starts to be seen as an important period for social mobility, taking into account the Brazilian historical and social singularities in its theoretical construction. Such understanding may contribute to the development of a Brazilian school-to-work transition theory, since it contains other elements besides qualification that interfere in this process, countering the discourse of individual meritocracy for entering the labor market.

Resumen
The objective of this paper is to highlight the possibilities of using the organizing approach as a micro foundation for organizational institutionalism given that it presents a theory of action more adequate than the ones which predominate in the institutionalist works. Based on the assumption that action in organizations is guided by comprehensive institutional orders that are not, however, isolated from social interaction and sense-building processes, it is proposed to integrate institutional theory with the approach of organizing as a base for the analysis of organizational processes. Through a review of what we call different “waves” of neo-institutional theory in organizations, we theorize the relationship between organizing, sensemaking, and institutions. In addition to presenting a synthesis of the trajectory of organizational institutionalism, we highlight some epistemological shifts observed within this theoretical body over time. Finally, we present the potential contributions of the use of an analytical lens that takes the approach of organizing (WEICK, 1979) as a theoretical micro foundation suitable for the institutional analysis of strategies and practices employed for the maintenance in organizations.

Resumen
The research analyzed the relationship between gender and career anchors of undergraduate students, using the survey method. The sample totaled 251 Engineering students and 251 Health Care students. To collect the data, we used questionnaires containing the Inventory Career Guidance of Schein (1990). The analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics and exploratory factor analysis. The results show that, in the Engineering area, female respondents valued more the lifestyle and safety anchors, whose attributes are socially associated with the female gender. In the area of Health Care, male respondents valued more autonomy and independency, pure challenge, and creativity anchors, whose attributes are associated with the male gender. We conclude that career choices are strongly associated with the values and attributes socially assigned to gender.

Resumen
This article shows the main results of the master's research, whose objective was to analyze the effect of direct or indirect participations of banks in non-financial companies in Brazil, the regulatory environment in which these participations are inserted, drawing a parallel with the North American regulatory environment, as one of the most developed financial markets in the world, with the largest stock exchange traded in the world and the pioneer country in the creation of the most sophisticated financial instruments in the world, specific regulatory treatment in relation to these holdings. To do so, I adopted exploratory research as a methodology, having as sources: books, articles, websites, Brazilian and North American laws, information on the shareholders of investment funds and shareholdings of banks and companies related to them, extracted from used software by professionals of investment banks, among others. As a result, it was possible to detect two large non-financial companies, with significant holdings and influences of banks, direct and indirect, and to point out the effects of these holdings. With this in mind, I intend to contribute to the management research by pointing out the current flaws in the regulatory model and proposing a general and holistic review that corrects the supposedly pernicious interventions of the financial market in the real economy, without avoiding the correct interactions that help in the development of certain sectors that not interested in private initiative.

Resumen
This dossier-article presents a reflection on the institutionalization of resilient organizations. It assumes that organizational change is the reinvention of a new system of rules and norms to encourage new behavior and coexistence, as well as necessary forms of negotiation. The organizational change results in the collaboration of the individuals in the institution and the implementation of new technological solutions. This study is dedicated to the thematic issue “Innovation in Emerging Economy Organizations,” and its objective is aligned with the purpose expressed by the issue’s guest editors Bernardes, Borini, and Figueiredo (2019), i.e., to promote the establishment of a critical research agenda on the field of innovation and organizations strategy in emerging economies, discussing its implications for the Brazilian academy. An introduction to the study of Technological Innovation in Scientific Communication is presented encompassing scientific research, scientific publications. and digital technology.

Resumen
This special issue of Cadernos EBAPE.BR invites reflection around building a critical research agenda on the field of innovation strategies and organizations in emerging economies, considering the implications of such an agenda to the Brazilian academy. The published articles reveal the spectrum of upcoming interests of Brazilian researchers on this topic. The first group of articles focused on analyzing innovation policies aimed at SMEs, agriculture and mining, environmentally sensitive sectors, and the foundations of start-up ecosystems. The second group of articles focused on innovation in emerging markets, based on the approaches of frugality, social businesses, and the dynamics of organizational radicality. Finally, the articles published in this issue brought theoretical and practical contributions to the debate, discussing topics such as digital transformation, the industry 4.0 and its relevance to BRIC countries, and administration of smart cities and knowledge-intensive services.
