Distribution of numerous neuropeptides in the human brain suggests that peptidergic systems may contribute to the pathogenesis of cognitive impairment in pathological aging such as dementia disorders. Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36-amino acid peptide and it is the most abundant neuropeptide presently known in the mammalian brain. The primary structure of NPY has been well preserved during evolution making this peptide one of the most conserved among species. Although some divergent data are available, the bulk of evidence suggests that NPY levels in cortex, hippocampus, basal ganglia and cerebrospinal fluid are contradictory. Intracerebroventricular-streptozotocin (ICV-STZ) in rats causes impairment of brain glucose and energy metabolism along with oxidative damage and cholinergic mdysfunction, and provides a relevant model for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The present study examined the presence of inmmunoreactive cell bodies containing NPY in a rat model of AD. Male rats were injected bilaterally with ICV-STZ (0.5mg/kg), while sham rats received the same volume of vehicle, then rats were sacrificed for immunocytochemical assays. One month after STZ injection a high density of NPY-immunoreactive perikarya was found in the hippocampal CA1 region, CA2 region, CA3 region and dentate gyrus (DG). In addition, activated astrocytes were seen in the hippocampus and in the cortex. This NPY distribution indicates that the neuropeptide studied might be involved in multiple functions like neuroprotection in the rat brain. These finding suggest that NPY may have important roles in the progression of AD.

Family businesses dominate the world, because they have a stake in the market comprising 66% to 80%, however, only the best, most competitive, they will succeed and reach the goals, objectives they were created, which will contribute to the management of human resources to adapt to new economic, strategic and organizational. Therefore, we must take into account that the life of family businesses there is nothing immutable and perpetual, nothing is perfect or permanent in time, as modern organizations have become more complex and difficult to handle, forming the lack of information one of the problems frequently encountered when managers make decisions, is therefore the creation of a succession plan that can help to have a plan that serves as a contingency for any unforeseen situation and there is knowledge on the subject, and a skilled and trained to assume leadership when the withdrawal occurred, is there someone able to cope with new circumstances that exist in the future and thereby help identify situations, anticipate problems and facilitate decision-making. Taking into account the quantitative and qualitative importance they have in the economy and the lack of information on this research, it was considered attractive way to address this issue to contribute to the generation of knowledge.

Ligaria cuneifolia (liga-liga) is used in traditional medicine in our country for the treatment of many health disorders, but there is limited information on their pharmacological properties. A methanol extract of Ligaria was prepared and its individual polyphenols were identified by HPLC coupled to mass spectrometry (HPLC / MS) on a Phenomenex Luna C18 column with ultraviolet detection at 280 and 320 nm using an electrospray ionization (ESI). The mobile phase was A: water/ acetic acid 98/2 (v/ v) and B: water / acetonitrile /acetic acid 49.5/50/0.5 with a flow rate of 1mL/min a gradient program. The plant extracts (0-100 mg /mL) were incubated in cell lines for colon cancer (HCT-116), breast (MDA-MB-231), prostate (PC-3), cancer liver (Hep-G2), skin cancer (A-375)and ovarian cancer (OVCAR-3). The total polyphenol content showed a significant amount of bioactive compounds. The Ligaria exhibited concentration-dependent activity in all cancer cell lines. The methanol extract was more active in colon cancer cells (IC50 = 28.14 mg / ml). A variety polyphenols were identified mainly , quercetin, chlorogenic acid, ellagic acid and chlorogenic acid glycoside.

The increase of information in companies has caused an increment of data in her information system, however these hasn’t involved an increase proportional of knowledge available, for get these knowledge is necessary improve in the process of knowledge discovery in databases. The present model propose the use of ontology’s in the first phases in the data mining into to process of knowledge discovery. The advantage more important is the Access to databases heterogeneous through a Homogeneous interface with databases unified and coherent semantically.

The Apgar score is an indicator of the newborn´s cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions. The study evaluates the oxytocin effect’s in the low Apgar scores in newborns at term and premature in the Hospital Belen of Trujillo from Peru. The cross-sectional study included 4812 births in pregnant women aged 15 years or more and up to 42 weeks of gestation, treated at the Belen Hospital’s - Trujillo, from May 2005 - May 2008. The data were processed with PASW Statistics 18 and EPIDAT 3.1. Oxytocin was used in 2088 births and 12% of births were born preterm. Low Apgar score was present in the first minute of life at 7.52% of newborns and 5 min in 1.37%. Oxytocin is a protector factor against low Apgar only at the fifth minute (RR = 0.453, 95% CI: 0261-0784), findings confirmed by Mantel-Haenszel estimates. The protector effect of oxytocin, determined by the stratified analysis, is especially important in premature neonates both in the first minute (RR = 0.593, 95% CI 0395-0892) and at the fifth minute (RR = 0.346, 95% CI: 0144-0830).

This research work, named “Influence of the work motivation in the organizational environment” let evaluate the DisFruta-Huancayo work motivation; based in a theoretical background that integrates: theoretical issues, internal context conditions influences and the laws that govern this context. Previous observations were done using the poll technique, using a questionnaire and having as informers the DisFruta-Huancayo workers, in order to diagnose the problems. The interview technique was also used. The applied model based in Maslow theory is divided in three parts, in  order to reach its objectives: in the first part DisFruta Huancayo workers were trained; in the second part the workers needs were evaluated, and it was found that the workers were not satisfied based on a previous analysis that take into account the attitudes and personalities of the workers for a better understanding, based on the collected data actions are applied, these actions generate satisfaction in the worker; at last, in the third part, the enterprise is evaluated based on the training knowledge and the needs reevaluation. It can be stated as a conclusion that work motivation in DisFruta workers was affected by applied empirics, lacks and deficiencies had a negative influence in the enterprise organizational environment. Because they do not respect or make a bad transmission of the work policies to reach the objectives, they do not know or are bad applied some theoretical issues related to this kind of research, or because it did not adequate to the conditions of the intern context. Problems that were solved with the methodological intervention, achieving in this way to improve the work motivation of the DisFruta Huancayo Workers, and this fact will be reflected in the organizational environment. Also is recommended, that the actions derived from this research could be maintained, in order to look for a continuous improvement of the Enterprise, besides, is recommended that it could be incorporated male gender workers, for furthering more dialog, harmony and equilibrium. In this way the adequate motivation that influences the organizational environment will also be improved.

The snake´s venoms are endogenous secretions constituted for proteins and can produce different symptomatology and in some cases the dead. Using the electrophoretic technique in polyacrylamide discontinuous gel of 7.5% and 12% whit sodium dodecylsulphate (PAGE-SDS) in reductions conditions were carried on a protein analysis of the venom in 5 Bothrops atrox snake´s from 5 different geographical zones to the Peruvian Amazon using centrifuge crude venom, additionally the proteins were quantification for using an spectrophotometer following the Biuret method. The results evidence the presents of different bands in the proteins, in ranges of 14 kD to 116 kD, finding 9, 11,8,7,8 bands of proteins for the populations of Moena Caño, Isla Iquitos, Panguana, Genaro Herrera and Nina Rumi, while the quantification show the presents to major quantity of protein in the snake from Isla Iquitos (67.41 mg/ml) and a less quantity in the specie from Genaro Herrera (32.13 mg/ml). We conclude mentioning the existence of variations in the electrophoretic profile and quantification to proteins from the venom of Bothrops atrox to the Peruvian Amazon.

The main objective of the study was to identify and evaluate polymorphic microsatellite markers present in genomic DNA D. trífida Lf. To modify this was achieved 2X CTAB protocol that yielded genomic DNA good quality with a ratio of 1.78 showing to be acceptable for the amplification and an amount of 186.9 g/ml of the microsatellites, the same way were standardized and polymorphic microsatellite markers amplified with six pairs of primers, whose amplification products varied in the range of 100 to 200 bp. The 6 microsatellites primer pairs showed no nonspecific products, resulting initiators MTI10 MTI3 and more polymorphic polymorphic information content (PIC) of 0.84 and 0.81 respectively. However; the initiator was less polymorphism MTI4 with a PIC of 0.52. There was a slight dependence between the number of different alleles and polymorphic information content (PIC) with a relatively high correlation index (r2 = 0.69). We conclude that the technique of production and purification of genomic DNA from D. trífida L f. is ideal for extracting genomic DNA, also the 6 pairs of microsatellite markers are adequate standard for future work at the molecular level in this species.
