The digital revolution is changing the way we live, work and relate to each other. The speed of change and abrupt transitions that the fourth industrial revolution is generating with the massification of access to new technologies and communications, the internet and cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital automation, the "Big Data", among others, all of which is leading to the disappearance of frontiers between the biological and the physical, man and machine, are demanding changes throughout the education system, given the high intellectual complexity, new skills, openness to change and flexibility required

The aim of this paper is to present a mapping on the implementation of the language gender fair use of language in the academic journals of the University of Costa Rica that are part of Portal de Revistas (official website of the journals). The analyzed information is based on a documental review of the websites of each title in the research website, the answers to an online questionnaire with a cluster sampling that results representative for the total number of journals, and the observations and comments of the people in charge of the editorial processes. One of the main findings is that 66% of the editorial committee of the journals has not discussed the university policy of gender fair use of language (stablished in 2003) and the other 34%, that has discussed this subject, presents different levels of proximity to the execution of this language policy. In the discussion, we take into consideration the characteristics of the journals, the editorial process, and the context to purpose improves in the implementation of this university policy.

The denomination convergent technologies refers to the confluence of computational science with techno-scientific fields such as nanotechnology, biotechnology and cognitive sciences. The objective of this work is to point out and analyze the links that these convergent technologies keep with Library Science (which also uses the information and communication technologies), either in methodological, conceptual or application terms. The main conclusion is that both nanotechnology, biotechnology and cognitive sciences have reconfigured their own conceptuation of information in recent years. This has caused professionals from other disciplines, who study information, to stop to rethink its nature, dynamics and use.

This article presents a research on the teaching of Information Literacy (IL) in elementary education, whose objective is to determine the best practices for its implementation and to identify the topics that need to be incorporated into such an initiative, as well as the ways of facing the problem of information saturation; so that students learn to search, retrieve, select, evaluate and communicate information, in order to acquire knowledge, competences and attitudes. The methodology employed was based on the qualitative analysis of experiences, which allowed us to concluded that IL has been successfully implemented through the use of educational games, digital applications for its teaching, specific courses on the subject, board games, Boolean search techniques, teaching through drawing, and instruments for the evaluation and use of educational resources. The main achievement was to contribute to the development of the competences that students need to perform successfully in school and to reach the capacity required for lifelong learning.

The article addresses the importance of the image in the cognition of the human being and through this reflection identifies photography as a resource that can be used with great potential not only in the collection of the library, but also in the digitalization of documents, the promotion of services, cultural management, information literacy, reading animation and the preservation of information. In this last subject a proposal is approached on the utilities that can have in libraries the use of one of the recent photographic techniques: the spherical photography 360. In addition, to carry out these applications of the photography the document proposes a series of characteristics ideal for the profile of the professional in librarianship.

This article aims to present a theoretical framework that emerged in the last decades on the Information Science sphere: Domain-analysis --also referred as Domain-analytic theory--, which comprises one of the epistemic basis implemented as part of the development of a research project conceived on the Department of Library Science of the Universidad Nacional de Misiones. Using theoretical review as methodology, the foundations that originated the proposal will be addressed, as well as the latent and emerging antecedents in inquiries and work prior to the formulation of its main exponent, Birger Hjørland. On the other hand, the semantic scope of the expression will be analyzed, in addition to the theoretical possibilities that Domain-analysis has towards the expansion and strengthening of metatheory in library science research, as well as the methodological approaches and practical matters, both issues described by its creator. It is concluded that Domain-analysis allows recognizing relevant concepts of a domain within Information Science, its hierarchical relationships and semantic links with other fields, while allowing the development of new research lines and deepen various theoretical aspects of Library and Information Science.

Privacy relates to any information that a person owns, such as his or her name, telephone number, address, e-mail address, photographs or fingerprints, as well as any other identifying information, so that if access to the data is evidenced for a purpose other than that required, its use would be illegitimate, incorrect and conduct, in addition to leading to criminal, civil and disciplinary consequences, would generate administrative consequences, such as fines or calls for attention, as determined by the Data Protection Agency of Inhabitants (PRODHAB), therefore, this article is related to privacy and protection of personal data and its importance in Costa Rica. Within the framework of this essay, the purpose of this discussion is to highlight the embargo that academic and scientific productions have been suffering, in the field of written publications, by databases owned by transnational commercial consortia, whose corporate mission has been fundamentally oriented to profit. In this embargo process, researchers have lost control and sovereignty over their intellectual production. Research has been reduced to management criteria, and the communication of knowledge has been restricted by monetary transactions and corporate marketing.

Introduction: The topic is approached from a prospective methodological approach to the problem of CECIs-MICTT hosted by SINABI-MCJ and the objective is to analyze a strategy to promote them. Proposal: The ideas that the thematic contents and actions that must be developed on the SDGs offer an opportunity to the public library system to articulate their services from a repositioning of their functions to the national needs to promote local development with a global vision are exposed that reinforces the social commitment of the profession. Arguments for the discussion: It was found that the work carried out as co-advisors is relevant and according to the evaluative criteria of: a) effectiveness as the fulfillment of the goals of the services, b) quality based on customer satisfaction and, c) sustainability as the generation of resources over time for the continuous provision of the service. Conclusions: It offers an infrastructure and an opportunity to support the proposed country goals. The harvest of results is valued as beneficial in the use of inputs, activities developed, visible effects and impacts where it is distinguished that the main ones are the technological interaction for the use of ICTs and social interaction for the formation of user communities that allow SINABI-MCJ to consider the prospective goal of articulating with other co-managers and supporting their own establishments to reverse the serious threat of a two-degree change in temperature of the planet that makes it necessary to act in the right direction for conservation and promote social development with inclusion, equity and equal opportunities for a country where social gaps tend to be very wide.
