We have several articles that tell us about the effective presence of Augustus and Tiberius in Hispania. Caligula, Claudius and Nero were not, as far as we know, in Iberian Peninsula, although their presence took various forms. José Mª. Blázquez wrote an article on Nero. Here we will develop the presence of Emperor Claudius in Hispania based on the statuary, the cities he founded, the hypothesis that he could have used the Quirina tribe for citizenship concessions, his presence in epigraphy that reveals the effective stay of close friends to the emperor, and his evergetic act in Castulo. In addition, after the end of coinage we will see how the lack of cash was resolved in the Hispanic mints by coining the so-called imitations. All this will show us that, although Claudius was not physically present in Hispania, the presence of the emperor is evident in other ways.

This paper is focused on the women who appear in the military inscriptions of Roman Britain. We analyse these inscriptions in order to resolve issues such as the origo, the legal status or the roles of the women in the relationships of Roman military. We cannot overlook the role of the women in History, historical agent and subject of study together with the men.

Traditionally, the olive oil amphoras Dressel 20 have been explicitly dated through various means, the most common being the class of associated epigraphy: stamps, titulus pictus or graphite, the typological analysis of the object, or the archaeological context. In the present work, we propose new dates for some stamps of amphorae based on the stratigraphic chronology of the roman military camps.During the last years, under the EPNet Project (ERC-2013-ADG-340 828), we did a review of the materials contained in the CEIPAC database. The study of the various military camps with well-defined timelines allows us to establish various dating proposals for those known brands of food containers that were lacking, chronology so far.We are interested in what the stamps can tell us, from the economic point of view, about the origin of olive oil and how it is distributed throughout roman frontiers.

In this paper we will attempt to contribute new information to our knowledge of the practice of ecclesiastical exile in Late Antiquity, which was often used as a means of control by rival bishops. In particular, we will analyze the banishment imposed on bishops who belonged to the circle of John Chrysostom and who remained faithful to the bishop of Constantinople after his deposition in the Synod of the Oak through the study of a number of epistles of Synesius of Cyrene. More specifically, we will focus on the specific case of Alexander of Cyrene, who was appointed bishop of Basilinopolis in Bithynia, and who provides us with very valuable information regarding the standing of exiled bishops and their social standing.

This article is about the image of the male prostitute in attic vase painting of the 5th century B.C.E. The key iconographic motif and invariably presented together with these individuals, who offer ephemeral beauty and pleasure, is the sack of money or ballantia, whose economic and sexual significance is almost certain. Thus, an iconographic analysis of a set of images is carried out on the basis of a novel multidisciplinary hypothesis in which prevails the sociopolitical context of classical Athens and the transformation suffered by the aristocratic institution of the paiderasteia in that period due to the generalization of the full citizenship made by Ephialtes and Pericles.

In the present work we analyze some exceptional monetary series minted at the end of the II century and the beginning of the III AD, in the name of two of the most powerful «Syrian empresses» of the Severan dynasty: Julia Domna and Julia Mamea. In addition to studying everything related to their designs and legends, we will try to find out the reasons that gave rise to these special series.
