The need to plan the maritime space arises from the competition for the use of a scarce resource (the maritime space). It is assumed that the planning helps to resolve this type of conflicts, enabling greater economic benefits for society. In spite of this, a first review of the economic literature offers few examples of estimation of the economic impacts linked to the Marine Spatial Planning (MSP). In this paper, a systematized review of the economic literature is presented and the results obtained are analyzed according to various classification criteria.

In this paper the technical efficiency of the health systems of 28 UE countries is analyzed. Such analysis assumes the cross-efficiency calculations and the valuation of productivity changes between the years 2012-2015. The source of data is the Eurostat online database. DEA- bootstrap is applied and Malmquist index are calculated. The results appears co confirm that EU countries have suffered a small increase in productivity in HS, which is related with positive changes in efficiency but not in technology. Even so, further research should be necessary to find the latent factors to explain the productivity levels of the HS in EU.

This paper studies one of the most paradigmatic facts of Spanish economic growth during the period 1982-2007: high growth of all types of investment. The primary purpose is to explain the causal factors of its growth pattern. We build an analytical framework that combines the investment theories; allowing to analyze simultaneously the investment of the three types of agents (households, Government and corporations), with three categories: expectations, demand and financing. Using the BBVA-IVIE database and a time series approach, our findings indicate that "activities connected to construction" are of primary importance in the investment pattern. This fact is interpreted as the result of the interdependencies between agents.

The globalization of the economy encourages massive population displacements and inevitably generates a cosmopolitization of societies. This leads to concern, misunderstanding and rejection. The most vulnerable social groups in society can perceive the population as intruders and enemies in social competition. Undoubtedly, the extreme spatial instability of fishery resources is among the many factors affecting migration dynamics. Various reasons for the mobility of fishermen are relevant around this concept. These include aspect related to traditions, to the capitalisation of activity, to technological innovations, and to innovation exchanges concerning the location of fish stocks. This article reflects on spatial increase of fishermen’s. The analyse are part of the paradigm of the sustainable management of common renewable resources, in particular fishery resources. It presents three lines of analysis: the reason for mobility; the choice of destination; and are the integration into host units.

Estimation of a dynamic linear regression is said to be of importance as events are measured on past events. However, estimation of dynamic models using the OLS is inefficient since it cannot produce the least variance and disregarding this problem would potentially lead to severe statistical problems. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to employ the bootstrap technique and Bayesian method in estimating the parameters of a dynamic regression model and compare their performances using standard deviation, absolute bias and mean square error of the estimates. The residual resampling technique is used for the bootstrap approach and the Normal-gamma model for the Bayesian approach. The results showed that the bootstrap technique outperformed the Bayesian method with lower standard error values. The bootstrap method also displayed an asymptotic property.

In Mexico, as in all the world, the youth unemployment rate is higher than the overall, and this relationship doesn´t change with the economic cycle. For Mexico, we found that the youth group with lesser education and income shows lower unemployment rate compared to the youth with higher and better socioeconomic situation. We develop a theoretical model to explain the existence of an important voluntary component in the youth unemployment rate. We claim that there is an important wage mismatch between these two groups. We estimate two logit models to empirically prove it.

This study analyses the influence of innovative efforts, measured by R&D investments, on the financial performance of firms, considering its position in relation to the technological frontier. Recent researches, especially Aghion & Howitt, 2009; Aghion, Akcigit, & Howitt, 2013, have demonstrated that the firm's technological position has a strong impact on the results of the applied investment, since the structure of incentives and potential opportunity costs influence the relation between the variables. For this purpose, the present study uses the frontier analysis with order-α partial frontiers, aiming to capture fluctuations of proximity to the border and its influence on the relation "R & D investment versus performance". Such approach allows different frontiers to be estimated for different quantiles, which provides a more consistent estimate of efficiency scores, which become more robust in relation to traditional problems of outliers and dimensionality. The sample of this article was made up of 2.000 firms and the data needed for the survey was extracted from the European Commission, a database covering 40 sectors in 46 countries. The results of the model suggest that the more efficient firms or the ones situated on the efficiency frontier achieve more profits from the same level of R&D investment compared with less efficient firms. This influence of proximity to the frontier emphasizes that the most efficient firms use the investments in R&D in order to obtain greater returns, what can explain that innovation is not shown uniform among firms.

The objective of this paper is to analyse the fish processing sector in general, and, specifically looking at canned tuna. In this regard, the tuna canning industry and its market in Spain from 1900 to nowadays are described, being one of the most important in the world. This industry has proved to be competitive enough to survive the globalisation process as opposed to all other European countries. Its main characteristics, its strengths and its weaknesses are shown. The evolution and the current situation of production, imports and exports of canned tuna are studied. Additionally, the evolution of the tuna fleet, ship- owning companies and joint ventures in third countries is presented. To sum up, this study provides a current overview of the fish processing sector, and its evolution throughout history. Interesting conclusions are drawn about the situation of the sector using causality analysis techniques for time series.

This study examines the effect of family control on corporate financing of the firms in Pakistan over the period 2005 to 2017. Moreover, this study also investigates, whether family control moderates the impact of firm specific factors on corporate financing of the firms. This study  is employed the GMM model for panel data estimation. The results of mean difference univariate analysis show that family firms are different from non-family firms based on different financial characteristics. Multivariate analysis results reveal that family control significantly impacts the corporate financing decisions of the firms. In addition, firm size, tangibility, profitability, non-debt tax shield, dividends and liquidity are found to be the important determinants of corporate financing decision of the firms. The moderation analysis reports that family control plays a significant moderating role between the relationship of firm’s characteristics (i.e. size, tangibility and probability) and debt ratios of the firms in Pakistan. These findings reveal useful insights for investors, banks, regulator and business families of the Pakistan.

Exercise Banking is, above all, a question of trust between parties, in which one of them - the client - confesses how much he thinks worth, hoping that the other party will keep this information for its exclusive orientation in the development of the business relation. The core issue of exercise banking is whether or not to implement a strategy (whatever it is) should be anchored in a given and assumed organizational culture (whatever it is). Traditional banking, in general, seemed to believe little in Strategy, or rather, used the term and some related practices to overcome the propensity to manage almost always and only in the short termism of taking advantage of successive conjunctures. Considering that excellence can’t be reduce to the mere characterization of technological innovation or processes, the product / service of excellence presupposes the design, development and monitoring always and only from the perspective of the end user / beneficiary / client.
