Introduction: The use of Papanicoloau Conventional Cytology (CC) versus Liquid Base (CBL), the professional who performs the extraction, first reading and diagnosis of the sample; the use of the Bethesda classification, the detection of HPV DNA and the follow-up of ASCUS findings are links in the screening of Uterine Cervical Cancer (CCU) little studied in our environment. Objective: To determine the characteristics of the CCU cancer screening in 08 health facilities (EESS) of Metropolitan Lima, the headquarters of the Medical Board of the FAMURP in 2017. Methods: Descriptive, transversal. Sampling for convenience. The Chiefs of Pathology Services were interviewed. Results: 8 EESS of Level III of the MINSA, EsSalud and FFAA participated. All performed the CC, none CBL. The samples are taken by the Gynecologist or the Obstetrician, and in 1 case by nursing, the first reading is performed by the Medical Technologist and in one case by the Pathologist Analyst; the diagnosis, by the Anatomopathologist. The Bethesda System is used for the Final Report. Screening tests for HPV DNA are not used. In 8, follow-up is done for ASCUS findings. Conclusion: CBL, automated reading, and identification of HPV DNA are not implemented. It is recommended to carry out cost-effective studies to propose their future implementation, and to carry out studies regarding the phases of the screening process.   DOI:  10.25176/RFMH.v19.n1.1788

Objective: Determine attitudes towards the investigation of rotating obstetrics inmates at Sergio E. Bernales Hospital (HSEB) during December 2018 to January 2019. Methods: Transversal study. The population was made up of obstetrics interns who performed professional practices to whom a validated scale of 28 items distributed in 6 dimensions was applied, which assessed attitudes towards research. Results: 57 obstetrics interns participated in the study. The average age was 23.5 ± 2.1 years and 96.5% were female. 54.4% of inmates presented a regular attitude towards scientific research, 24.6% had a good attitude and 21% had a bad attitude. 93.0% of inmates agreed or strongly agreed that publication in a journal helps improve clinical practice, most felt able to interpret a scientific article (68.4%) and prepared to conduct research career related (54.3%); On the other hand, they considered that in order to carry out quality research in the university they had to have basic physical and virtual tools (94.7%) and that the scientific writing course should focus on teaching the preparation of an article (84.2 %). The majority disagreed and disagreed in opting for another graduation modality other than the thesis (50.9%). Conclusion: More than half of HSEB's obstetric inmates had a regular attitude toward research. The results show the need to continue strengthening and promoting research in obstetrics students.

Objective: To determine the sociodemographic variables associated with depression in the elderly of Peru based on the information obtained through the Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES) of the year 2017 carried out by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). Methods: An observational, correlational and cross-sectional study that used a probabilistic sample of 4917 older adults (60 years and over). For the determination of depression in the population, the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ) of 9 questions included in the health questionnaire in the mental health section of ENDES 2017 was used as an instrument. Results: The prevalence of depression in the Peruvian elderly in 2017 was 14.2%. As sociodemographic variables associated with depression were the female sex [OR 1.995 (1.684 -2.364)]; lack instruction [ORaj 2.524 (2.126-2996)]; the age over 75 years [ORaj 1.763 (1.494 2.080)]; live in a rural area [ORaj 1.410 (1.198-1.659)]; and be poor [ORaj 1.456 (1.229 - 1.724)]. It was not associated with disability (p = 0.704). [ORaj 1.103 (0.663-1835)]. Conclusion: It was concluded that the prevalence of depression in the Peruvian adult is high. Among the sociodemographic variables that were identified as risk factors for presenting depression were female sex, lacking education, age over 75, living in rural areas and being poor.

Objective: To estimate the funding and unit cost in the long-term training of health professionals in Peru. Methods: A partial economic evaluation (cost analysis) was carried out from the perspective of the public financier. For financing, reports are shown by budget categories and budget programs of the health sector. Data was obtained through the Integrated System of Financial Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (SIAF-MEF) between the years 2016 - 2018. In relation to the analysis The cost was estimated using the absorption costing methodology. The data was obtained from the Integrated System of Administrative Management (SIGA) - logistic module to obtain the prices of the inputs, the Computer Application of Human Resources of Public Servants (AIRHSP) for salaries of human resources. Results: Financing made by the country in relation to training is estimated at 27 million soles for 2016, and it is reduced to 20 million soles by 2018. The per capita cost for graduates was S /. 12 661 (USD 3 836) and for the specialization it was S /. 23 356 (USD 7 077). Conclusion: Financing in the formation of human resources in health is vital for the achievement of health objectives in Peru. However, there is a decrease in the budget allocated to training activities in the last 3 years.

Objective: To know the appreciation of the student on the work of the Peruvian scientific research universities medical undergraduate students of faculties of medicine of the Peru, 2016-2017. Methods: It is a multicentric, observational, descriptive and transversal study. It featured the participation of 400 medical students belonging to 19 faculties of medicine officially recognized by the Peruvian Association of faculties of Medicine (ASPEFAM). Applied sampling was not probabilistic. A validated by a study earlier, auto-applicative, anonymous, voluntary survey was used, and which underwent a pilot test. The collection was virtual and the analysis was descriptive. Results: Only 7,8% concerned that its faculty of medicine Yes supported research. Around 56% concerned do not feel sufficiently trained by their University to achieve the scientific publication in biomedical journals. And most they did appreciate that their universities do not encourage the seed research, do not have scientific internships and there is support for students to execute or carry out their thesis. Conclusions: The perceptions of the students about the work of universities in undergraduate scientific medical research, it was classified as "deficient" by the majority of the surveyed.

Objectives: Determine the relationship between presenteeism and socioeconomic aspects in doctors of the Hospital Nacional Víctor Larco Herrera in 2018. Methods: A non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational, prospective quantitative study was carried out. 60 doctors from the Hospital Nacional Víctor Larco Herrera were included, the dependent variable was occupational presenteeism, measured with the Stanford SPS- 6 work presenteeism scale, the independent variables were the socioeconomic aspects. For the bivariate analysis, the Pearson correlation test was used, obtaining the correlation coefficient (r) and the p value. Results: 54.5% of the sample were female, the most frequent age group was 28 to 37 years old with 45.5%. The prevalence of presenteeism was 49 (81.8%). It was significantly associated to the labor condition (r = -0.236, value p = 0.039), correlating with having a contracted or third-party regime against permanent contract worker. There was no statistically significant association with having another job, people who depend economically, work hours and years of service. Conclusion: The presenteeism in doctors of the Larco Herrera National Hospital was associated to the labor condition. It is recommended to carry out more studies in this regard in order to better understand the reality of this problem in our country.

Evidence-based medicine has improved the safety and efficacy of medical treatments to improve people's health; Even in public health, sufficient evidence to support preventive interventions is a special need in countries with limited budgets, since these countries cannot afford to carry out interventions without evidence of support. Continuing with this model involves two important issues: the first is that decision makers and treating physicians are able to access the best available evidence to support their interventions; likewise, to be able to differentiate good quality publications and avoid supporting their actions in methodologically deficient studies or with important biases, since this could put the patient's health at risk. Because the concept of evidence-based medicine could be considered relatively new, young doctors have some advantage in this regard, since they were trained with this present paradigm, which would make their assimilation in clinical practice in general easier than in older doctors.

Introduction:Survival in patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) can be affected by various clinical, cytogenetic and immunophenotypic factors. Objective:To determine the characteristics of the CCU cancer screening in 08 health facilities (EESS) of Metropolitan Lima, the headquarters of the Medical Board of the FAMURP in 2017.Methods:An observational, transversal, retrospective and analytical study was carried out, based on the review of storiesClinics of all adult patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, diagnosed in April 2014 to December 2016 and followed up to determine its final outcome at 2 years, associating it with the presence of mortality conditions factors. The final sample was 39 patients. Results:Of the 39 patients, 16 (41%) were older than 60 years, 23 (59%) were younger than 60 years, 13 of the patients (33%) had a Leukocyte count greater than 50,000 at diagnosis and 26 (77%). ) presented a figure of less than 50,000. 33 patients presented a Novo Leukemia (84%) and 6 (16%) presented a Leukemia secondary to a Dysplastic Myel Syndrome or some previous history of chemotherapy. Data were not obtained for all patients according to the British American British classification (FAB), Immunophenotype and Karyotype. Survival was evaluated in 3 times, at 6 months, at one year and at 2 years from the date of diagnosis, while at 6 months the overall survival of the 39 patients had been 69% (25), at 49 % (18) and at 2 years remained in the same range. Survival at 1 year and 2 years after diagnosis was obtained with the same Odds Ratio (OR) of 4.5 for the variable Leukocytes at diagnosis greater than 50 000 (95% CI: 1,008 - 20,507), considering it as a risk factor for mortality. In the survival analysis of the same variable mentioned with one year survival and two years survival was significantly lower in the group of patients with leukocytes at diagnosis greater than 50,000.Conclusion:In our study population, statistical significance was found when evaluating the Leukocyte variable at diagnosis greater than 50,000, finding it as a factor associated with 2-year mortality, with a significantly greater survival than the group of patients with Leukocytes at diagnosis less than 50. 000.   DOI:  10.25176/RFMH.v19.n1.1789
