The US is currently following a blueprint of a strategy in which it advances Israel’s “victory”, while imposing conditions of surrender on defeated Palestinians. (Pipes, 2016) One of the main targets of this new policy is Palestinian refugees, scattered in their millions across Palestine and the Middle East. But the ‘Nakba’, starting 70 years ago - and all of its dire consequences, since then - is a concept that is so deeply entrenched in the hearts and minds of most Palestinians to this day. Thus, the refugees and their insistence on their Right of Return are the main, if not the only, obstacles before the US-Israeli plot. 

Writer and journalist Carmen de Burgos, also known as Colombine, promoted the first Spanish political campaing defending the sephardic culture, by means of the journal «Revista Critica», which she had founded in 1908. A monograph about the same topic was dedicated to the creation of the Hispano-Israelite Association, in order to promote love and fraternity between Spaniards and Sephardites within the highest cultural circles of the country. Our proposal is to review the details of this pioneering initiative, as well as the successive impact on the early Twentieth-Century culture.

Il merito delle donne brings to light the solid cultural and scientific background of Modesta Pozzo, a pioneer in making her contemporaries aware of the need to reflect on their own social role. This article analyzes the keys by which this Venetian author transcends her time, a historical period, the Renaissance, in which many women saw how the prevailing patriarchal canon annulled their academic capacities.

This article analyses Alexander Payne’s film Nebraska from the perspective of the paradigm shift produced after the much-debated passing of postmodernism, announced by theorists such as Ihab Hassan or Linda Hutcheon. We shall examine how the lack of grand narratives makes it almost impossible to give structured meanings to the concept of reality. Payne’s project can be viewed as both an allegorical and a physical journey that takes the character to no specific destination in his search to make amends with the harsh reality that, ultimately, spells the end of the American Dream.

George Egerton was a controversial but very popular English-language writer in the turn of the century. It belonged to the phenomenon called "New Woman", formed by artists who placed women at the center of their works. Egerton created a new type of heroine, modern and unconventional, and a new type of narrative anticipating feminism and modernism in literature.

This work has its origin in the scarce presence of women in the Baccalaureate curriculum of historical and artistic subjects. Therefore, the incorporation of at least one woman, the English artist and activist Barbara Bodichon, is proposed, precisely because of these two facets that come together in her biography. The didactic approach adopted is included, while offering a preliminary proposal with multimodal didactic materials.

Throughout this article we will focus on analyzing the active participation of Republican congresswoman Edith Nourse Rogers in the different media of her time. A public figure of his depth was to be expected, and to be expected, that he appeared with a certain frequency and periodicity in the main media of the moment (written press and radio stations).

Some constitutional reforms reflect, at least in appearance and to varying degrees, the social demands that are considered a reflection of the pluralistic nature of these societies and the diversity of political projects that have been gestating. Those constitutional reforms have given rise to a myriad of regulations difficult to interpret since they sometimes refer to the traditional law and sometimes seem to rebuild the state based on modern principles. In this panorama, different interpretive approaches to the principles originating from different sources of inspiration can be carried out in practice, since the frictions between those sources can be projected publicly for the public power to address.
