With the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union, the Common Law legal system is also removed. This circumstance facilitates future legal harmonization between the so-called legal system of Civil Law or continental law, the legal system that regulates the countries, with the exception of Ireland, that remain in the Union. It will henceforth be easier to create a common European legal science based on Roman law, as Roman law is converted into its single and fundamental unifying element: the Roman legal order is the common foundation of all the legal orders of Continental Europe. It is time to assert the influence of Roman law in the future configuration of the common European legal order..

The use of tools designed to measure the perceived quality of a residential environment within urban planning and management processes has been little explored despite its value as a strategy to improve urban quality of life. There is a need to promote the implementation of these instruments and contextualize them with the features of the environment to further enhance the influence on urban environments within a changing and diverse world where planning demands the emergence of new intervention mechanisms. This research seeks to contribute to this end. The use of a self-reporting tool to measure the perceived quality of the environment allowed the collection of data from a residential area in Flores, Costa Rica. The analysis of this information greatly contributed to understand the relationship between the characteristics of geographical environments and their perceived quality. The findings of this research made it possible to identify the relationship between urban and residential satisfaction and urban characteristics, allowing us to elaborate arguments for the future promotion of urban intervention strategies.

The transformation of families in contemporary Argentinian society and the process of democratisation experienced within the country have prompted a redefi nition of authority relations and enhanced participation of all its members, which is increasingly respectful and egalitarian. This has caused a real revolution in the last decade, which is refl ected in the legislation. Thus, since 2015 the Argentinian Republic has a new Civil and Commercial Code of the Nation that has been able to closely monitor these transformations. Associated with the so-called constitutionalisation and conventionalisation of civil law, it is a Code designed for a multicultural (secular) society, based on the principle of equality and non-discrimination, which incorporates the obligatory gender perspective, as well as the paradigms that shape the current consideration of children and adolescents as subjects of rights with the progressive ability to exercise them. In this sense, the objective of the work that we propose to carry out is not only to be able to individualise the expressions of the autonomy of the will in the current Argentinian legal system within Family law, but also to carry out an analysis of the possible limits of said autonomy of the will in the relationships between adults and between parents and children.

The objective of the article is to describe and analyse how the autonomy of the will was manifested in users of assisted human reproduction techniques where the donation of gametes –ovules and / or spermatozoids– or gestational surrogacy were used to form nuclear families as well as single-parent, homo-parental or co-maternal families in Argentina. The users highlighted the importance of issues related to ?liation by referring to the individual, sociocultural and legal context in which reproductive decisions were made.

This article analyses the criteria incorporated into the new art. 2 LOPJM with the purpose of facilitating the determination of the minor’s best interests. Firstly, it aims to provide some general guidelines that are applicable in cases where con?ict between these criteria arise. The article goes on to examine the impact that some of these criteria may have when the Admin- istration adopts a measure to protect a minor and then proceeds to study other criteria of higher incidence when the minor’s representative must make a decision regarding the minor, due to his lack of maturity. In particular, the modi?cation made by the laws of 2015 in Law 41/2002 on Patient Autonomy and LO 2/2010 on Sexual and Reproductive Health is analysed, because these amendments broaden paternal intervention in decision-making, while limiting, to some extent, the capacity of minors to decide for themselves.

The Argentine Civil and Commercial Code, has incorporated the possibility of request- ing or agreeing to ?nancial compensation post-divorce or cohabitation ceases. Around this ?gure have arisen diverse debates that go on a common topic: the justi?ed limits to the autonomy of the will. Among them, the following stand out: a) the possibility of modifying an agreed or judicially ?xed ?nancial compensation, b) the way of counting the expiration period and the validity of the ex o?cio expiration declaration and c) the possibility of waiving in advance to ?nancial compen- sation through a pact of coexistence. Concluding that, as economic compensation is a tool that allows access to economic resources that allow future autonomy, the limits set by the legislator in regulating this institute, as well as interpretations of the judiciary and / or doctrine that ensure access to this tool, they are fully justi?ed.
