Resumen
The present work offers a study dedicated to the representation of feminineimaginary, violence and social commitment in four outstanding poems by José Ángel Valente (1929-2000): “Dos romances de mar. Canción del enamorado y la amada del mar”, “Cinco sones para tambor solo”, “Cuba: una isla navega” y “Visita a Guanabacoa”. To carry out these objectives, an interdisciplinary methodology is implemented. In fact, the conceptual relations between literature and music linked to the imaginary, cultural and gender studies, as well as the history of mentalities as theoretical lines andfundamental epistemological approaches are addressed. As for the results and conclusions, a line of research not dealt with so far in the state of the question about the critical studies dedicated to Valente that highlights the importance of female symbolic representation in his aesthetic work isproposed. At the same time, his determined social commitment through art against violence and the prevailing machismo that he could see especially in a stay in Cuba with ritual drum roll as background music is demonstrated.

Resumen
Starting from the narration of the story of three great “impossible” loves we analyze the norms that ruled the relationships between men and women in the respective social contexts where the couples developed their stories. We also reflect on the factors that influenced the forced dissolution of the relationships, as well as the direction the women wanted to take and the one they actually could take in regards to their lives after they were deprived of the relationship with their partners. The work is developed by marking the trajectory that happens from the meeting between two individuals and the emergence of love, to the truncation of the possibility for the lovers of going a common path in their lives. We turn to biographic and bibliographic documents to elucidate the remains of the communication preserved by the members of these couples after the separation.

Resumen
Although the anti-Spanish myth of Freemasonry is informally consolidated at the end of the Spanish Civil War with the promulgation of the famous Law for the Repression of Freemasonry and Communism on March 1st 1940, by the new Head of State, Francisco Franco, the truth is that since the end of the 19th century the Freemasonry was identified by the media, politicians and the Catholic Church, as one of the main agents that intend to put an end to Spain, during the time when Freemasonry was accused of trying to overthrow the constitutional monarchy and provoke the Disaster of 1898.

Resumen
In this article I study the repression of Freemasonry during the Spanish civil war and the Franco regime, through an analysis of the anti-Masonic discourse published during this historical period, which I address in my book “Killing Words”. I argue that a discourse against Freemasonry was developed during those periods that sought the moral annihilation of the Freemasons, in addition to the brutal physical repression that took place. Such words were words that hurt and kill, they were killer words, as I discussed in this article.

Resumen
This paper analyzes the life and work of Julián Calvo Blanco, a Spanish jurist exiled in Mexico after the Spanish Civil War, in order to study the relationship between Freemasonry and the Spanish exiles. Our research was based primarily on historical archives in Mexico and Spain thus gathering information on his life in Spain before exile, the voyage that brought him to Mexico, and his participation in Freemasonry in both countries. The details of his activities as a Mason increase our knowledge of Mexican Freemasonry’s part in the arrival and incorporation of quite a few Spanish Masons.

Resumen
After the Spanish Civil War, the representative Margarita Nelken (1893-1968) was tried by the Special Tribunal for the Repression of Freemasonry and Communism. She was accused of the crimes of Freemasonry and communism and judged by default. The only physical evidence her accusers had was a recommendation letter issued by the Barcelonese lodge Lealtad in 1924. However, the letter didn’t belong to her, but to a cabaret singer named Stella Margarita. Despite the lack of evidence, she was found guilty of having joined Freemasonry.
