The article discusses the biography of Aluizio Pinheiro Ferreira from 1897 to 1943. It emphasizes two features of his lifetime: his public activity and his Masonic affiliation, during the 1930 Revolution (1930-1945) and the secession of Brazilian Freemasonry (1927). The period culminated with the creation of the Federal Territory of Guaporé (now the state of Rondônia) in 1943, during harshest period of the government of exception (1937 to 1945), and the appointment of Aluizio Ferreira as Rondônia’s first governor.

Studies on the Anti-Masonic movement formulated from ecclesial positions are usually based on a vision that the Catholic Church is a compact and homogenous institution at all times, also in those matters which are outside the dogma and the doctrine. This globalizing vision, devoid of nuances, even in relation to the evolution in time of the ideas and behavior among Catholics, essentially diminishes serious research due to the lack of arguments, and even being able to reach some inaccurate conclusions. This study is focused on the use of terms like clerical, Ultramontanism, and Catholic press in those pieces of research.

Much has been said when creating connections between Freemasonry and the Precursor of Venezuela’s independence Francisco de Miranda. The story begins in France with a very special encounter between two great men: Miranda and Bonaparte. Both have something in common besides their great military genius: they are usually classified into the Masonic ranks without enough evidence to support such a claim. In this article we try to review all possible connections between Francisco de Miranda and members of this brotherhood, a fact that is not determinant for him to be included among the members of the famous brotherhood.

Según-Alonso, Manuel
Editorial de la Sede del Pacífico de la Universidad de Costa Rica
In Madrid during the late nineteenth-century and first third of the twentieth-century there were among the freethinking and republican circles, influenced by laicism, many women seeking the principles of freedom, equality and fraternity that Freemasonry defends. Through this work, we intend to recover the work done by women's Masonry in Madrid and its contribution to the feminist cause, the emancipation of women, and the progress of society as a whole. I aim to recover the work of all Adoption and mixed Lodges in Madrid and the name of their members.
