Resumen
This article presents the main findings of a study that focused on determining the factors that have an impact on the assessment of students of Pedagogy about their level of competence for the pedagogical use of information and communication techniques (ICT). Personal variables were considered (age, sex, ICT training, educational level of initial training and connectivity) and their impact on the levels of self-perceived digital competence by 175 students belonging to the Pedagogy degree of a Chilean public university. An ad hoc scale was used for the study that achieved very good psychometric qualities in the validation process. The results show that future teachers feel they have some knowledge about the use of ICT from a pedagogical perspective, but within the framework of a traditional approach. The personal variables that had an impact on this assessment were age, sex, and the level of initial teacher training.

Resumen
This article analyzes the qualities of teachers in mathematics that were remembered as good teachers by young university students who just enrolled for the degree in Teachers in Mathematics at the National University of Rosario (Argentina), in the framework of an activity in which they are asked to remember two of the best teachers of their entire schooling. The obtained results are compared with qualities of "good teachers" in general (of any discipline) in order to analyze the relevance of certain features in the teachers of Mathematics compared with the teachers of any other discipline, according to candidates for teachers in Mathematics. Methodologically, it was possible to take into account a great accumulation of data in order to make qualitative interpretations through the technique of content analysis. There are many similarities among the memorable teachers of the study, regardless of discipline, as well as some distinctive features of the teachers of Mathematics. The authors point out the importance of the school biography for the construction of the teacher's professional knowledge, particularizing in the Professorship in Mathematics.

Resumen
The objective of the study was to relate the learning strategies used by students of English Pedagogy at a Chilean university, represented by the score reached in the ACRA Learning Strategies Questionnaire (Acquisition, Codification, Recovery, Metacognitives and Support) of Román et al. (1994, 2013) with their academic performance. A descriptive correlational study was carried out. The sample included 60 students (45 women and 15 men), with age ranges between 18 and 21 years. The results indicate an acceptable correlation coefficient. It is concluded that the low frequency of use of some learning strategies proves the need to systematically reinforce them.

Resumen
This work describes the experience and results of redesigning curriculum by competences for the degree in Pedagogy of Mathematics and Computing at the University of Los Lagos, Chile. The context and the totality of the phases of the redesign are detailed. The concrete results emerged from the degree’s self-assessment process, which now has a new study plan, a graduation profile appropriate to the competency-based curriculum, and a significant improvement in degree rates, in addition to strengthening students' fundamental skills, certified by the National Accreditation Commission.

Resumen
En Reinventar la clase en la Universidad Mariana Maggio, una de las referentes latinoamericanas en educación y tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, propone pensar la noción de innovación en el nivel superior de la enseñanza, desde una perspectiva didáctica. Se trata de una obra que pone en jaque a la clase universitaria tradicional anclada en la exposición, la verificación y la repetición. Como alternativa, Maggio invita a pensar las prácticas de enseñanza en el nivel superior a partir de tres nociones: invención, inmersión y alteración. Toma distancia de las didácticas tradicionales invitando a repensar la clase expositiva y la lógica lineal de los programas al tiempo que propone una nueva categoría teórica a la que denomina didáctica en vivo.

Resumen
There is a considerable body of work about pertinence in higher education. However, the amount of studies about pertinence in the field of training for tourism professionals in Mexico is small. The purpose of this article is to present contributions to the state of affairs about pertinence in tourism professional training during the period 2000-2015, through the analysis of published indexed articles. The first step is a description of the methodological procedure; the second is a tour on the interpretations of the term relevance in higher education; the third is the result of a documentary research on the position of academics about pertinence in the training of professionals in tourism, and the last section presents the conclusions and future lines of research. Among the most relevant results we can point out the constant concern for the university-society relationship and the existing tensions between the training of professionals in tourism and the world of work.

Resumen
This article offers information about the conformation and consolidation strategies used by two undergraduate research seedbeds of an institution of higher education in Colombia, which has generated successful training processes for research. The study was qualitative, with a hermeneutic approach and a case study method, using interviews, participant observation, focus group and review of the documentary archive of the process. The study allowed to observe that the success of the process resides in the execution of four moments: motivation, work dynamics, performance of the leading teacher and institutional support. The findings include some strategies that could be implemented in other settings.

Resumen
This paper proposes a typology to classify and explain the relationship between higher education and employment based on the conjunction of elements associated with the sociology of youth, the theory of human capital and the higher education policies. The methodology of comparative qualitative analysis was used using Boolean logic for multidimensional analysis. The authors compared the cases of students just enrolled at the Law School of the University of Guadalajara and students close to graduating. The main result was the heterogeneity of students with regard to employment, highlighting its dynamic character during school trajectory.

Resumen
The main purpose of this article is to analyze the configuration how the specific features of the artistic field in which performed the musicians of the Conservatory assigned to the National University, allowing to reveal elements of belonging for the strengthening of their identity and their projection in instrumental musical groups such as the Symphonic Orchestra of Students of the Conservatory and the University Group of Chamber Music. In this field, university musicians continued to be legitimized by the Conservatory as the main recipients in their approach to high culture, to bring it to the popular layers in the context of the nationalism displayed by the post-revolutionary governments. It is demonstrated that the project of founding the Conservatory of Music included the creation of an orchestra that could be representative of students and teachers, and that during the period in which this institution was integrated to the National University, the musical activity was underpinned by the General Work Plan of the Department of University Extension, according to the principles of dissemination, cooperation and social service.
