In this paper, we aim to delimit conceptually the idea of a “topia” (or space of experience) and a “utopia” (horizon of expectation) through the philosophies of Xavier Zubiri and Ignacio Ellacuría. In the first author, the delimitation of the first category follows a path of analysis that predominates the implantation in reality. This constitutes itself through the various dimensions and modulations of a primordial experience of reality. In the second case, the author's concern is the “place that gives truth”, in that manner he proposes a historical concept of experience through the reality of suffering and injustice. After this first delimitation, in both authors, it allows us to cross to the second level, where we find each author differentiate, respectively, that is: the constitution of the horizon of expectation (utopias), which is, in the case of Zubiri, a critique of the given order, and, in Ellacuría, determines a historical praxis of liberation.

This article seeks to reveal the presence or absence of intercultural references in the formal documents of the Research Ethics Committees (CEI) of Chilean universities attached to the Rectors Committee. Public documents from twenty-nine universities were analyzed. The main findings account for the absence of ethical safeguards associated with the original and migrant voices under study and the procedures carried out when facing the study of intercultural phenomena. It concludes a decolonial profile absent in the CEI and a delicate.proximity to the justification of its existence as compliance with Western investigative requirements.

The present investigation aims to discuss, through critical hermeneutics, moral education in our schools. A tensioning and problematizing vision of the Chilean educational model challenges us to delve into this issue -from the sciences of education- and philosophy. We need to seek those principles that open us to teaching morality from the students’ condition and their relationship with the school, environment, and other people. It is not a question of more or fewer techniques or methodologies or subjects and workshops but of thinking about how we should teach morality in our educational spaces. A philosophy of education leads us to find ourselves, as teachers, in a discussion that requires correcting what we have done so far in education and the teaching of morality as a constant and iterative provocation to think about teaching in various contexts and challenges.

The Modernity/Coloniality - Decoloniality research program is a prolific platform of contextualized thought that has positioned diverse intellectuals, movements, and collective actions from their places of enunciation and anchored in ethical-political reasons for the transformation of a social reality characterized by cultural asymmetry. The reconstruction of its epistemological background accounts for this ethical-political gamble aimed at broadening possibilities for this contextualized thinking, open to diversity coexistence.

The article proposes an affective reading of the moral experience described and interpreted by Humberto Giannini, bringing to light the affective aspects and presuppositions that appear both implanted in the philosopher’s approach and from the observation of the phenomenon itself. For this purpose, some specific elements of Giannini’s philosophy are considered, such as his notion of a common world, intersubjective link, moral offense, and dialogue. The relevance of affectivity in moral experience, according to the Gianninian ethical theory, is defended under the affective nature of the shared bond between those involved in moral conflict.

J. Habermas' theory of communicative action is a tool with an explicative potential that hasn't been properly attended in the Latin-American political thought. The associative perspective it’s a way to comprehend a widespread democracy's theory, which finds itself with and against the political realism that characterizes the region. With that in mind, this work pretends to place the communicative action as a tool to think with and against Habermas democracy in Latin-America.

This article examines and criticizes the limitations of Axel Honneth’s struggle for recognition concerning the question of power. We propose Emmanuel Lévinas’s social philosophy represents a deeper reflection on power, providing answers to overcome the objections imputed to Honneth. However, a partial reading of Levinas’s work prevents Honneth from capitalizing on an overcoming of the agonal critique of his work.
