Resumen
The concept of identity is complex and integrates various psychological and social elements. Students of foreign origin face great challenges in the process of building their cultural identity due to their status as migrants. This mixed investigation studied the orientation and perception of the cultural identity of students of Haitian origin two schools at San Luis, SDE in 2017-2018 school year. A model by Vilá Baños, et al. (2016) that addresses the construction of the identity and the integration of the migrant from a subjective and an objective perspective was used among the types of cultural adjustment in multicultural encounter of Touriñan (2003). An ad hoc instrument was applied, elaborated from the Cohesion of Social Questionnaire of Palou (2011), ICCS of 2009 (2014) and the World Values Survey of (2014) to a sample of 62 students. Students of Haitian origin identified themselves as Dominicans, denied to be of Haitian origin and assumed Dominican cultural patterns. There was an elimination-domination adjustment in which the Haitian culture is subsumed to the Dominican culture. On the other hand, the students of Dominican origin showed empathy towards people of Haitian origin, although they preferred not to have people of Haitian origin living in their communities.

Resumen
The present investigation approaches as a general objective to value the projection of the figure of the woman in the textbooks of the area of artistic education of the last two years of the second cycle of the secondary level in the academic year 2017-2018 in the Dominican educational system, of the Ministry of Education.
The conclusions reveal asymmetries and critical and evident inclinations towards the figure of man over women, in both types of analysis of the contents investigated.
Asking us thus, if the historically assigned roles, reinforced both by the textuality and the iconography that are stipulated here and the existing relationship between all this gear with respect to the figure of women in these textbooks, is it random or intentional?

Resumen
A descriptive study was carried out in 42 dairy farms, located in four geographical areas of Costa Rica, San Carlos, Zarcero, Cartago and Tilarán during 2001-2002. It includes the descrption of the infrastructure anda the sources of the water used for hygienic and operational procedures like handling and caring for the animals. At each farm, the cattle were bled to detect anti-Leptospira antibodies. Simultaneously each dairyman was surveyed to determine his/her potential exposure to the Leptospira spp. Infection, according to farm characteristics and the use of protective measures while handling the cattle, which were verified by observation. The statistical analysis was performed by the calculation of frequencies with a 95% confidence interval. The study population included 177 dairy workers, 87% male; their ages ranged from 11 to 78 years, with an average of 35. Eighty eight percent carryong out three or more activitiees with the animals and 79.0% adjudged to the presence of redents. Dairymen from Costa Rican farms are significantly exposed to he leptospirosis agent as they undertake their duties. The increases on account of environmental conditions and could become a serious halth problema if corrective measures are not taken for the exposure factors identified in this research.

Resumen
This article analyses some of the weaknesses found in the actuarial study of the biggest national pension fund named “Régimen de Invalidez, Vejez y Muerte” (IVM), performed by a team from the Mathematics School at the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). The paper conducts an analysis on the economically active population used by them, showing that this demographic data is initially underestimated. The paper also reviews the population generation model, stating the demographic incoherencies derived from a mistaken implementation of the associated Lexis diagram. Afterwards, the paper analyzes the assumptions implicit in the model, specifying how they affect the model results, and finally it gives some solutions to improve the accuracy of the forecasting. As a general conclusion, it is estimated that the results of the IVM study conducted by the UCR are biased and correspond to a pessimistic scenario.
