This article explores how Agustín Lara, the famous Mexican poet and composer, sings to women using rhetorical strategies such as metaphors, sinestesias, and metonymies that result in a sort of landscaspe representing her body. This methodological strategy results from a multidisciplinary approach to Lara’s texts: on one hand, as literary texts, on another hand as spaces where different traditions on love discourse converge. This aesthetic landscaping of the female body goes hand in hand with several “moral experiments”, where the lover subsumes into sensual laberynths, where love rituals take place as sacrifices or symbolic death.

This article analyzes how the concept of "peace" was used by the media discourse of the Costa Rican newspapers La Nación,Semanario Universidadand el Eco Católicoduring the years 1981 and 1990. The study starts from the importance of the concepts as linguistic vehicles that achieve accumulate own experiences of the actors that make use of them and that express themselves through the discourse as a social practice. "Peace" was a key concept when the press dealt with the topic of the agreements and negotiations carried out by the Central American states in the midst of a political crisis and the strong interference of powers, mainly the United States. The work reconstructs a political and ideological dispute about the type of "Peace" that was sought to promote and that was reflected in the speeches about Contadora and the Arias Plan.

The aim of this paper is to present the risks and abuse that Central American migrants have faced through Mexico, which inhibit their purpose of reaching the United States. The most relevant results of research show that police and gangs in Mexico have extorted and robbed the Central American migrants. Some institutions that did not support them in their transit were the Human Rights Commission, churches, non-governmental organizations and prosecution authorities. At the same time, they recognize the support of refuges and residents of some localities of Tlaxcala who do not perceive them as a risk to the safety of their families. The methodology of the study was a qualitative approach, using semi-structured questionnaire interviews, with Central American migrants and residents from municipalities of the State of Tlaxcala.

The present work was carried out with the purpose of analyzing ethnicity, from its symbolic load and its social implications, as a powerful influence in Latin American plastic art; this with the intention of reflecting and dimensioning their implications and the cultural effects they produce. In general, the analytical, synthetic and concordance methods were used for the establishment, structuring and development of the research, particularly iconographic and iconological methods for the analysis of the plastic work were applied of Gustavo Toaquiza (1971, Ecuador) and Gilberto Delgado (1987, México)). Our results show indigenous plastic art as a reflection of the collective entities that give rise to it, as a cultural product that debates, denounces and it is placed as an element of interaction that combats discrimination and helps understanding of a multicultural Latin America.

The cultural diversity of human societies and their political management have been the most debated topics by the social sciences in recent times. In Latin America and the Caribbean, we observe the development of mechanisms to recognize different expressions of multiculturality. These forms of inclusion have been accompanied by multiple paradoxes and ambiguities. It is the so-called "multicultural turn" that, although the indigenous peoples have been its most visible protagonist, it has also included the populations of African origin. Based on a synthesis of previous works, the purpose of this text is to present a panoramic view of the presence of people of African descent in Latin America and the Caribbean and the process of gestation and development of multicultural policies applicable to these populations. We will also raise some elements about the limits and obstacles that are observed in the implementation of these policies.

This work analyzes the visual discourse of the xylographs of La Lira Popular, a string literature of wide circulation in Chile at the end of the 19th century. The aim is to disseminate such productions because they constitute a historical artistic heritage, an expression of the imago mundi of the subaltern social groups, because they are a valuable source where the ideas, feelings, configurations that give body to a generated narrative in a space that is outside. of cultural control of the elite that can be identified, and that develops in parallel to the process of construction of the political hegemony that the State carried forward at the time. The methodology developed is a hypothetical deductive, centered on the discussion and analysis of secondary and primary sources, respectively; whose main result has been to show that popular artists constituted a space in which they could escape from hegemonic control.
