El presente artículo es producto del proyecto investigación Diseño de un Modelo de la Cadena de Abastecimiento del Sector Madera y Muebles de la Región Caribe de Colombia, el cual fue desarrollado a través de la becapasantía Joven Investigador e Innovador “Virginia Gutiérrez de Pineda” de Colciencias. Se presenta una caracterización del sector, con el fin de establecer el estado actual de la estructura logística del mismo y los requerimientos de los procesos logísticos y de servicio en los segmentos identificados; así como un análisis de la cadena de abastecimiento, de tal forma que se identifiquen las brechas de los procesos logísticos (compras e inventarios, almacenamiento, planeación y distribución) frente a las mejores prácticas de clase mundial.

This article presents the results obtained by measuring the quality parameters of a telecommunications network on GSM (Global System Mobile) in the DCS-1800 (Digital Cellular Service - 1800MHz) band; which is used in order to articulate a system of disaster relief in emergency situations, using a USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) in conjunction with IP telephony system based on Asterisk. The USRP is responsible for emulating the operation of a BTS (Base Transceiver Station) performing the functions of a PBX (Private Branch Exchange). The measurements of network performance were made from three probabilistic parameters: GoS (Grade of Service), DCR (Dropped Call Rate) and MOS (Mean Opinion Score). Traffic was generated using an 8 terminals and choosing a GoS of 2% to 3.6 Erlang, this measurement was performed using probabilistic models of Erlang B. The network coverage was obtained using the Okumura-Hata model for both indoors and outdoors, without the use of amplifiers. The consumption of power in the system was also measured.

El presente escrito inicialmente da a conocer la metodología de mejora del seis sigma, su importancia y aplicación a nivel empresarial. Posteriormente, se presenta un caso en la empresa Sysman Ltda mediante proyectos de mejora, utilizando como medio de diagnóstico los criterios del Premio Colombiano a la Calidad de la Gestión; donde se establecen fortalezas y oportunidades de mejora en la organización. Finalmente se proponen tres proyectos encaminados a mejorar la calidad del sistema, el tiempo de respuesta a quejas y laidentificación de necesidades de capacitación.

The ground and aerial robotics, is being putinto operation of agribusiness. Precision agriculture taskshave opened a dominant fi eld to integrate the developmentsof mobile robotics. Trajectory planning is an option for weedremoval systems from a 3D image processing system. Thissystem determines the location of the weed (not treated here)and plans the movement of the tool to eradicate it. This toolis called end eff ector and it is integrated into a positioning system XYZ. This one is found on a mobile platform calledCeres_AgroBot (Robot created for agricultural work), whomoves through the crop and performs inspection-removal. Thearticle treated here presents a solution to find the trajectorythat must follow the tool that removes the weeds from the crop,without colliding with the plants of interest. It is based on theimplementation of a search algorithm supported on the A*,technique for determining the path in 3D space with obstacles.As inputs are: the rest point of the tool (), the coordinate ofthe weed () and the coordinates of the objects. Sometimesthe trajectory found produces movements that cause suddendisplacements and strong actions in the actuators, so it is alsopresented, the way to integrate the smoothing of the trajectoryby the Bezier techniques, such that the curve is adjusted to adynamic continuous and appropriate to the elements that makeup the removal system

En San Juan de Pasto, zona de alta sismicidad, las edifi caciones en tierra constituyen un valor de interés cultural de la nación; la mayoría de las edifi caciones históricas en Colombia son de este tipo, como el teatro Imperial (1922). Por lo anterior, es un reto para la ingeniería colombiana y para el Ministerio de Cultura, determinar la vulnerabilidad sísmica para regular la protección del patrimonio; sin embargo, la Norma Sismo Resistente del país no reglamenta el análisis y recuperación estructural por falta de investigación. Este artículo ofrece como respuesta, la evaluación estática y dinámica de los materiales a la luz de las estructuras, para determinar la vulnerabilidad sísmica de la tapia. Así, se resuelve con caracterización físico mecánica mediante la mecánica de la fractura y ensayos de velocidades ultrasónicas, para proyectar métodos de consolidación con base en un análisis no lineal y obtener las curvas con capacidad de desempeño, la relación media de daño y propiciar métodos de consolidación con criterios de respuesta sísmica, índice de sobre esfuerzos, y costos de intervención a que están condicionados. 

The general statute for contracting in public administration in Colombia (Law 80 of 1983) establishes that state entities (Law 489 of 1988), except those that the law does not require more than one proposal, must select their contractors through: public tenders, invitations or any contractual modality, according to the legal regime applicable to the contract (Law 816 of 2003). In order to guarantee transparency in the bidding processes, have been proposed diff erent types of formulas and even then, they sometimes end up favoring the same group of people. This article analyzes the impact of the bidder selection formula on road infrastructure projects in the Department of Valle del Cauca. For this purpose, contract specifi cations were available based on the digital platform of the Electronic Procurement Service SECOP.

The aim of this paper review, is based on three aspects: 1. A conceptual approach and regulations from diff erent countries about the dangerous/defective products; 2. The responsibility assumed by the Surveillance and Control Entities in Colombia, and 3. The Implications related to consumer health and safety generated by the dangerous/ defective products. Although there are regulations and theories on defective and dangerous products that support this concern, in Colombia the dissemination strategies used by the Colombian government, and entities or organizations that safeguard the rights of consumers, are still incipient, or the means of consultation that can be used by consumers, to verify whether a product meets dangerous/defective characteristics, as well as the damages or the consequences it can generate, from bodily injuries to death are unknowing. To collect information, databases such as Scielo, Google Scholar and Dialnet were consulted in Spanishand English, with publication window from 2010 to 2017, some key words were established and the results were refined. For information processing, the selected literature was reviewed and confluence points were identified in relation to the proposed aim. Given this panorama, the paper review concludes that the consumer must take part actively in this chain, identifying dangerous and defective products and who sells them, in order to remove them from the market by the competent authorities to reduce the impact/damage to health or consumer integrity

El presente artículo expone una propuesta de innovación de aula, incorporando la actividad experimental en clases magistrales por medio del uso de kits didácticos para mejorar las actitudes negativas de los estudiantes universitarios hacia la química y bajar la repitencia en un curso de química general. Se aplicaron 8 kits, con su desarrollo, elaboración de guías y utilización, obteniendo resultados positivos sobre dichas actitudes hacia la química, considerando su dificultad, el interés del conocimiento químico y la obtención de un aprendizaje disciplinar adecuado. Adicionalmente, los kits permitieron bajar el índice de pérdida del curso al 5%, comparado con el 38% que se presentaba antes, en los cursos de Química General en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

This work briefl y recounts the beginnings of project management as a formal profession, presenting the diff erent organizations around the world that promote it, its methodologies and standards as well as certifi cations for its accreditation. It also makes a succinct analysis of the project management situation in Colombia to fi nish with closing notes

The whey proteins have acquired great importance due to their nutritional and technological functionality. In the present review, we studied the use of Ultrafi ltration (UF) applied to the separation of proteins and peptides from whey. It was found that the UF is one of the best alternatives. However, to achieve better results it is necessary to: accompany other membrane technologies (microfiltration,nanofi ltration, electrodialysis, diafiltration), select the type of UF membrane to be used, and adjust the conditions of transmembrane pressure, pH and temperature.
