Resumen
Objective. To evaluate the access of an early diagnosis of the ADHD and to identify its barriers by means of a trajectory of facts from perceiving the symptoms until obtaining the formal diagnosis. Materials and methods. An integral conceptual model has been used - based on four dimensions (perceive, search, arrive and use) - and centered on the patient; this has allowed to trace a trajectory of facts lived by the dyads (patient and their primary caregiver). The survey was composed of five open and 143 dichotomous or polytomous questions. 177 dyads participated. Results. Numerous barriers were identified to access the early diagnosis; the lack of perception of ADHD was key to initiate access. Conclusion. The lack of perception could be avoided with information to the caregivers so that they perceive the nuclear symptoms of ADHD as potential mental health problems.

Resumen
Objective. To identify positive qualities and mental health problems in adolescents that are clients of a mental health specialized service. Materials and methods. The sample consisted of 145 patients of both sexes. The Mexican validated official international Hispanic version of the Youth Self Report/11-18 (YSR/11-18) was used; it measures psychopathology and individual characteristics associated with positive adaptation, called Positive Qualities. Results. The positive quality most commonly reported was related to the positive social behavior, without mean differences between girls and boys. Girls showed the highest level of internalizing and externalizing problems. Conclusions. Adolescents with psychopathology in clinical settings also show positive qualities. It is important to identify and enhance these characteristics as protective factors in adolescents living in high-risk contexts. Girls showed higher psychopathology levels, implying gender differences in preventive intervention.

Resumen
Objective. This study aimed to compare consumers’ objec- tive understanding of five FoPLs [Health Star Rating system (HSR), Multiple Traffic Lights (MTL), Nutri-Score, Reference Intakes (RIs), Warning Symbol] in Mexico. Materials and methods. 1 001 Mexican consumers were recruited and asked to rank three sets of label-free products according to their nutritional quality, via a survey. Upon completion of this task, participants were randomized to one of five FoPL conditions and were again asked to rank the same sets of products, this time with a FoPL displayed on pack. Change in ability to correctly rank products across the two tasks was assessed by FoPL using ordinal logistic regression. Results. Nutri-Score and MTL performed best, followed Warning Symbol, HSR and RIs. Conclusion. Nutri-Score and MTL appear as efficient schemes to inform consumers on the nutritional quality of foods, in particular in Mexico, where it would be a helpful tool for consumers in purchasing situations.

Resumen
Objective. To characterize the demand for public services among the population living in localities with less than 100 000 inhabitants. Materials and methods. We used data from the Encuesta Nacional de Salud y Nutrición (Ensanut) 2018. We characterize the primary health care cascade and estimated probit models on the probability of receiving care. Results. Among the population that reported a health problem, only 32% received care from a public institution. We found that women, having more than 50 years, being insured and belonging to the highest socioeconomic status —within this population— was associated with a greater probability of receiving care. Conclusions. Findings from this study show some of the challenges and opportunities to offer public health care services to the population that lives in more marginalized areas

Resumen
Objective. To analyze the mental health care needs of the serious mental disorders (SMD) and factors associated with the use of services in Mexico. Materials and methods. A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted in two phases, the first with a national database of available services and its utilization; the second, a sample of medical records of a psychiatric hospital. Results. Schizophrenia is the most prevalent MDS; more than 50% of those hospitalized were male, with an average age of 37 years. The use of services was associated with age (β=1.062, p=.000), family income (β=1.000, p=.000) and no laboral occupation (β=3.407, p=.000). The population with schizophrenia is four times more likely to require to be exempt from payment (β=4.158, p=.000). Conclusions. The population with SMD as schizophrenia is more vulnerable due to the associated functional and social disability and it requires specific heath interventions and a financial protection policy adapted to their mental health care needs.

Resumen
Lung cancer screening has the potential to be diagnosed at an early stage which increases the possibility of curative treatment in order to decrease the mortality rate. In Mexico, as in other developing nations, along with wood smoke exposure is one of the main risk factors for developing lung cancer, not considered in previously published screening trials. Different questions arise concerning the population at higher risk to develop lung cancer in Latin America, the cost-benefit of implementing a lung cancer screening program and the obstacles facing developing countries when implementing a detection program. To knowledge, there are no lung cancer screening trials in Mexico.

Resumen
This poetic reading explores techniques which rediscover basic cognitive processes which up to now have not been automated and which all readers draw upon. At the same time, the poetic reading sustains and incentivizes the state of cognitive instability through which every mental process passes. In this way the article shows cognitive strategies of unlearning of methods already learned and strategies of maintaining irreconcilable interpretations which result in estrangement and complexity, and which will be analyzed in the context of a poem by Baudelaire.

Resumen
The goal of this paper is to study the reading as individual experience (I read) and, at the same time, cultural practice (we all read only because and insofar as we integrate a writing and reading culture). So, after giving a general definition of the notion of reading (section 1) and after examining some pertinent questions concerning the history of reading (section 2), we will address the following topics (section 3): the teaching and learning to read and reading, the oriented reading processes and the reading understanding.
