This work carries out a cartography of the hypertextual elements present in the chronotope of Asimov’s Foundation trilogy, as well as in its linking elements. It is tried to prove that its success can be partially explained by the huge presence of hypertextual relationships, mainly archetypal, that allow a reading at two levels. The superficial reading is satisfactory in itself, but it is the palimpsestic reading that discovers all the richness of his work, allowing a much greater enjoyment and showing the extraordinary humanistic culture of Asimov.

How can we inhabit, with our sensitive empathic body, an environment described by a text? This paper explores this question through neuropsychological studies on embodied cognition and altered states of consciousness. These studies help us to elucidate the reader’s immersion in the descriptions of Minor Angels (1999) and Radiant Terminus (2014), from Antoine Volodine. Our neuroaesthetic model of immersive inhabitation will allow us to reinterpret the narratology distinction of descriptions and narration. We will thus see that embodied immersion can turn description into a sovereign aesthetic practice, tending toward autonomy from narration and endowed with intrinsic ecological value in the age of the Anthropocene.

This study explores poetic thought, focusing on the specificity of the emotional content of poetic texts in French language. After a valorisation of the reader’s subjectivity in the interpretation process, the role of the emotions in the generation of meaning is highlighted and an approximation to the literary imagination is offered. Also, the study elaborates an interdisciplinary analysis of the series of poems “Nuits”, by Lorand Gaspar, which combines neurobiological and philosophical perspectives with the double purpose of nourishing the tools of poetic interpretation of Literary Theory and of recognizing structures of reasoning of the literary creation.

The study of the human brain allows us to understand some aspects of the relationship that language establishes between the mind and the world, as a transitional organ in the processes of matter. A neurological investigation is proposed in the acoustic origins of the linguistic sign, within an evolutionary and tactile model that integrates orality with written letter, applied in this work to the semiology of reading disorders.

The monograph that we present aims to reflect on the complex relationships between poetry, social networks and technology in the new digital era. The works are grouped into two fundamental lines of analysis: the first focuses on the relationship between poetry and social networks to study how networks have changed our conception of poetry, and our way of writing and reading it; the second approaches poetry linked to technology and digital, especially e-poetry and code poetry.
