Resumen
Introduction: the prevention of puerperal infection is a social requirement. Objective: to specify the association between rupture of ovular membranes, cervicovaginal infection and chorioamnionitis and the presentation of puerperal infection in puerperal women attended in the Obstetrics Service of the Hospital Dr. Agostinho Neto during the years 2016-2018.Method: a study was conducted of cases and controls. The universe was formed by all puerperal puerperal infections (n=622), and of the latter a sample was selected for convenience of 60 patients, which constituted the group of cases; a group of patients without puerperal infection (n=120) who formed the control group was chosen. The following variables were studied: age in years, time of rupture of ovular membranes, diagnosis of cervicovaginal infection and chorioamnionitis and birth pathway. Results: ages between 20 and 29 years predominated in cases (41.7%) and controls (48.3%). There was statistically significant evidence, with a reliability of 95%, that the rupture of membranes over 24 hours, cervicovaginal infection and chorioamnionitis were risk factors for puerperal infection. The vaginal route predominated in the cases (60%) and controls (61.7%), which was not statistically significant associated with puerperal infection. Conclusions: puerperal women with ruptured ovular membranes over 24 hours, cervicovaginal infection and chorioamnionitis presented a higher risk of puerperal infection.

Introduction: gender analysis is essential to determine inequities related to the health of men and women, is a field to be explored in Stomatology and more when it comes to the effectiveness of ozone therapy in the treatment of stomatitis subprosthesis. Objective: to evaluate how gender influences the effectiveness of ozone therapy in the treatment of subprosthesis stomatitis in patients who attended the Prosthetics service of the Clinic "Julio Antonio Mella" in the period January-June 2018.Method: a descriptive-transversal study was carried out. The universe was constituted by the patients with prosthesis who came to the service in that period and the sample was selected in a non-probabilistic way. The information was obtained through an observation guide and a questionnaire, which was processed with the statistical package SPSS, version 15.Results: treatment was more effective in men and days to cure inferior in these. Women who took more than ten days to heal the injury or who did not heal constitute the highest percentage with respect to men, mainly due to their domestic responsibilities. Conclusions: gender influences the effectiveness of ozone therapy marked by differences in domestic responsibilities that interfere in adherence to treatment by men and women.

Resumen
Introduction: Patients with Syndrome type II division 2 malocclusions, besides presenting a clinically established relationship between molars and canines in a distal occlusion, show a retro-inclination of the upper front teeth with pro-inclination of the lateral incisors and a deep overbite, which can result in a risk factor of temporomandibular dysfunction. Objective: To identify the relationship between Syndrome type II division 2 malocclusions and the temporomandibular dysfunction.Material and Methods: A bibliographic review was carried out through a search of databases such as MEDLINE, PubMed, Hinari, and Scholar Google. A total of 17 articles were used.Development: Because of the clinical characteristics of the occlusion in the patients with this syndrome, the range of jaw movement is limited, producing a traumatic effect that is related with a position of the condyles displaced backward and with glenoid fossa intrusion. This more distal displacement produces the pressure of the richly innervated retrodiscal tissue, which could be the cause of inflammation of the surrounding tissues and the affectation of the joint function due to an elongation of the discal ligaments or a thinning of the disc affecting the disc-condyle complex. Conclusions: The studies conducted demonstrate the relationship between the Syndrome type II division 2 and the temporomandibular joint dysfunction, given the clinical characteristics that are present in this syndrome, which affect the functioning of the temporomandibular joint, and produce its dysfunction when exceeding the adaptive capacities of the patient. Keywords: Syndrome type II division 2 malocclusions, temporomandibular dysfunction, deep overbite, malocclusion.

Resumen
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is a health problem in Perú.Objective: To determine the mortality and the associated factors in chronic kidney disease patients under hemodialysis in an incident population in a Peruvian hospital.Material and Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted in patients admitted to the chronic hemodialysis program at Hospital Antonio Lorena (Cusco-Peru), from 2010 to 2016. Kaplan-Meier method was used for the survival analysis to determine the factors associated with mortality, Cox´s Regression was carried out, obtaining Hazard Ratio (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI).Results: A total of 187 patients were studied, with a mean age of 57 years (interquartile range: 43-66). The 47% (89) of patients died during follow-up. Mortality rate was 24 deaths / 100 people-per year (95% CI: 19.6-29.6). The mean survival rate was 2.8 years (95% CI: 1.9-4.0). Dilatation of the left atrium in the echocardiography (HR: 2.63; 95% CI: 1.03-6.69; p=0.041), a white blood cell count ≥ 12x103u/mm3 (HR: 6.86; 95% CI: 2.08-22.66; p=0.002), and hemoglobin <7 g/dL (HR: 3.62; 95% CI: 1.05-12.48; p=0.041) were associated with mortality. Conclusions: A low frequency of survival was found, which was associated with potentially modifiable factors. Keywords: Chronic Kidney Disease, Hemodialysis, Mortality, Survival, Public Health.

Resumen
Introduction: The incidence of carcinoma of unknown primary origin in oncologic patients is from 0,5 % to 7 % at the time of diagnosis with an overall 3-year and 5-year survival of 11 % and 6 %, respectively. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of 18 F-FDG-PET/CT (18F-fluorodeoxyglucose posıtron emıssıon tomography) in the diagnosis of carcinoma of unknown primary origin (CUP). Material and Methods: F-FDG-PET/CT studies were conducted in patients with CUP in the search for primary tumor with negative previous conventional studies carried out from November, 2017 to June 2018. The final diagnosis was established by histological confirmation and/or clinical/radiological follow-up during 8 months. Results: A total of 44 patients were studied. There were evidences of suggestive CUP in 19 patients; 9 of them were histologically confirmed as true-positive and only 1 was a false-positive. Of the 23 patients with negative F-FDG-PET/CT studies for primary tumor, all of them continued with the diagnosis of CUP in spite of multiples diagnostic tests. Conclusions: The FDG-PET/CT technique allowed to identify 45,2 % of the primary tumors in this study, which demonstrates that it is very useful tool for the diagnosis of metastases of unknown origin. It is considered that F-FDG-PET/CT studies should be included earlier in the diagnostic algorithms in Cuba, which will allow to indicate subsequent complementary tests.
