Resumen
Introduction: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Diabetes Mellitus is among the risk factors for the development of Tuberculosis. People with active Tuberculosis and diabetes can be negatively complicated by the results of Tuberculosis treatment, delaying the time of microbiological response which increases the probability of an unfavorable result and the risk of relapse, drug resistance, and death in some cases.Objective. To establish the prevalence of Diabetes mellitus and its correlation with risk factors in patients with Tuberculosis who underwent treatment in a public Hospital in Valledupar, Colombia. Material and Methods. A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in all cases diagnosed with Tuberculosis that underwent treatment in a public Hospital in Valledupar, Colombia. The diagnosis of diabetes was made with the use of a test to measure basal glycemia, the clinical histories of the patients, and surveys. All participants were surveyed for the evaluation of risk factors.Results. Of the 70 patients with Tuberculosis, 8 (11.4%) were diagnosed with DM. It was observed that the age> 40 years (p = 0.030) constitutes a risk factor for the TB-DM binomial; but there was no statistically significant difference with regard to sex, alcohol consumption, tobacco consumption, HIV, and body mass index (p> 0.05).Conclusions. The prevalence of Diabetes mellitus-Tuberculosis binomial in the Hospital studied corresponds to the figures established by the World Health Organization (WHO).Key words: Tuberculosis, Diabetes mellitus, TB-DM comorbidity, risk factors, Colombia, correlation between diabetes and tuberculosis.

Resumen
Introduction: At present, the use of antioxidants in the sports field has increased. However, there is no conclusive evidence of the effect of these substances in improving the physical performance of athletes. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of antioxidant supplements in the improvement of athletic physical performance.Material and Methods: A bibliographic review was carried out through the search on online databases such as Pubmed, Scopus, the Web of Knowledge and Google Scholar search engine. Only original double-blind studies related to the intervention of an antioxidant supplement were included. The review period was from 2009 to December 2017.Development: A total of 1053 articles were identified, of which 33 met the inclusion criteria for the review. Regarding the type of supplement, 2 of them corresponded to vitamins, 9 to polyphenols, 11 to commercials, and the remaining 9 ones to several types. The historic period of the articles analyzed was 4.8 ± 2.4 years in terms of obsolescence, which was determined by the Burton and Kleber half-period and the Price index (5.5 and 61.0%, respectively). Conclusions: To date, there is no solid evidence that the intake of antioxidant supplements improves physical athletic performance. There are few positive results in some of the evaluated variables; for this reason, more evidence is required to elucidate the effect of antioxidant supplements. Keywords: Antioxidant response elements, Total Antioxidant System, athletic performance, endogenous antioxidants, sports performance.

Introduction: Cancer in Cuba is currently the second cause of death at all ages for being an extremely complex disease because of the various characteristics in terms of etiology, location, evolution and prognosis. In addition, it has a psychosocial connotation and a negative emotional impact not only for the patient, but also for all those people who are part of a network of social support. Objective: The objective of this research was to characterize the caregiver burden in primary caregivers of patients with head and neck cancer, hospitalized at the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology from December 2016 to March 2017.Materials and methods: A mixed methodology descriptive-correlational study was carried out on 100 patients who met certain inclusion criteria. An interview for the collection of the information and the Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale were applied to subject types. Informed consent of the caregivers was obtained for their participation in the study. Results: The results revealed high levels of caregiver burden. The most affected dimension was the impact of care whereas the interpersonal burden was the least damaged dimension. It was demonstrated that, to a lesser knowledge of the caregiver about the patient's illness, greater caregiver burden and interpersonal burden. Conclusions: It was concluded that the moderate to severe level of the burden of the primary informal caregivers of the study was mainly due to the affectations in the physical and mental health, the limitations in the personal and work areas, and the existence of negative emotional states: anxiety, worry, and depressive traits. Keywords: Caregiver burden, care impact, interpersonal burden, self-efficacy expectations, primary informal caregivers, head and neck cancer.

Resumen
Introduction: Rickettsia is a genus of Gram-negative obligate intracellular bacteria that cause several epidemics around the world and are transmitted mainly by ticks, fleas, lice and mites. Rickettsiosis is a re-emergent infectious disease without epidemiological surveillance in Colombia. Until few years ago, Rickettsia rickettsi was the only tick-borne Rickettsioses in America; however, new species are being described, and although their pathogenicity has not been confirmed, they should be considered as potential pathogens. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the presence of rickettsial agents in ticks in the state of Meta, Colombia.Material and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted; ticks were collected and, after their taxonomic identification, gltA, ompA and ompB genes were amplified and sequenced. Results: A total of 169 pools were obtained to which PCR were carried out, of which 2 PCR were amplified for the gltA, ompA and ompB genes. Conclusions: These results demonstrate the presence of Rickettsia spp in ticks in the State of Meta. Keywords: Rickettsiosis, IFI, PCR, Candidatus Rickettsia colombianensi, Ticks, Colombia

Resumen
In the present work, I propose to study the relations of philía in Euripides’ Orestes, focusing on the gender of the characters. First, I will analyze the link between the protagonist and Pilades, who does not fear the contact with Orestes and manages to avoid suicide. This is a remarkable difference regarding the actions of Menelaus, a blood relative of the sons of Agamemnon, who seems to arrive in Argos to save his nephews, but finally conspires against them. Then I will approach Electra’s relationship with the chorus, standing out from the formal point of view since the parodos and the third stasimon constitute lyrical dialogues. The comparison between the interaction of the Argives and the model of Pilades and Orestes will allow investigating the incidence of women in the plot.

Resumen
This paper analyses the powerful influence of Greek philosophy, theater and culture in the philosophical work and discourse of John L. Austin. The study focuses on two closely connected dimensions: the unique recreation that Austin makes of the socratic eíron and his direct inspiration from the rhetorical and theatrical strategies of Platonic dialogues.

Resumen
The bow of Philoctetes, as a symbolic and sacred object, has been studied many times. However, its importance as a sacred weapon deserves a revision regarding the religious and epic contexts of the author. According to the general view, this sacred quality comes from the divine provenience of the bow, which belonged to Heracles. Nevertheless, in some passages it could be best explained by the sacred significance that some objects had in certain religious contexts.
