This article aims to analyze the use of the Greek term nómos in 2 Maccabees, highlighting the establishment within this book of a Jewish propaganda in defense of the “ancestral laws” in order to validate the resistance of the Maccabees in favor of the Jewish way of life (Ioudaismós) against the imposition of the Greek way of life (Hellenismós) over the Jews.

This interdisciplinary study evaluates the possibilities of urban adaptation of an arid city, specifically neighborhoods of social housing, in the face of climate change. The city of Piura was selected because it is one of the most representative cases of the effects of climate change in an arid city of the country with problems of water scarcity and it is analyzed: a) its territorial development in relation to water problems, b) the impact of urbanization processes on the urban heat islands of Piura; and c) possible measures for climate adaptation of public space and housing in neighborhoods of social interest. The results on the institutional framework of the planning for the climatic adaptation of this city show more obstacles than opportunities. In both neighborhoods selected case studies are confronted urban design and architecture with "popular" adaptation interventions and the socio-economic profile of residents is studied to understand patterns and measures to be considered in processes of climate adaptation. Finally, participatory adaptation strategies that reduce heat islands in the public space and social housing in Piura are conceptualized within the framework of comprehensive public policies.

Fish gelatin has gained increasing attention as an alternative to mammalian gelatin. However, the search for new sources with characteristics similar to commercial ones is still necessary. Due to this, the objective of this study was to obtain and characterize Doncella skin gelatin (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) and evaluate its use as an encapsulating material when producing microparticles by complex coacervation. Gelatin and gum arabic were used as wall materials and Mauritia flexuosa oil, as filler material. The Doncella skin gelatin was obtained by acid extraction and evaluated in terms of the aspects: yield, melting point; molar mass distribution; proximal composition; size, morphology, average particle diameter and encapsulation efficiency. The yield of the gelatin powder was ~ 20.03% per 100 g of wet skin, in addition, had a melting point of 29.1 ° C. The mean diameters reported were 117.40 μm ± 38.05 and 105.39 μm ± 37.93, when Doncella skin gelatin (MCGD) and porcine gelatin (MCGP) were used, respectively, with significant statistical differences (p <0.05). The encapsulation efficiencies obtained by the MCGD and MCGP systems were 88.45 ± 1.77 and 83.78 ± 4.44 respectively. In conclusion, we demonstrate the viability of the Doncella gelatin as an encapsulating material. But there is still a lack of research to guarantee the quality of gelatine. In this way, we highlight the potential of Doncella skin gelatin for uses in various areas.

Laboratory model RBC system was designed as secondary treatment of an UASB reactor effluent. RBC System was built with two stages in series, each stage with effective volume of 81 liters and seven (07) PVC disks of 60 cm diameter with a total effective area of 7.92 m2. RBC system operated at a constant flow rate of 432 l / day (HRT of 4.50 hours) and was operated in two periods at different disk rotational speed (3 rpm for 4 months and 5 rpm for 3 months). The values of BOD5, SST, Turbidity, pH and Temperature were measured. Moreover, the physical and microbiological biofilm characteristics were observed throughout the study period. RBC System achieved optimal degree of oxygenation, with an average value of 5.21 mg DO/ l just in the first stage. DOB5 Removal efficiency was 90% for 5 rpm of rotational speed and 78% for 3 rpm. Finally, the RBC system showed a better performance in terms of organic matter removal for 3 rpm rotational speed of. Moreover, it was found that two stages performance in series was higher than a single stage. The most representative biofilm microorganisms in first stage were protozoa ciliated swimmers or free and filamentous bacteria that had an excessive growth at second period. In the second stage, it was fixed ciliated protozoa, rotifers and unicellular and filamentous algae.

In this work three mathematical models of transmission lines are shown, the most used, to simulate electromagnetic transients in power systems. In addition, its main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages are mentioned. Likewise, the algorithms are shown in the form of flow charts for the simulations of the transients. Finally, the results of simulations of maneuvering surges in a single-phase transmission line using the MATLAB software are shown.

The work ‘DruBot: Robotic prototype for authentication and comparison of facial proportions for assistance control and impersonation detection in evaluations’ describes the development of the robotic prototype called DruBot that seeks to recognize the faces of the persons who join to a classroom specific, a private area or an examination, comparing them with a database for each case (to distinguish them from the characteristics extracted from the photo of the university identification and the frames obtained of the video of welcome of every student) and to determine if the image of the person which camera is capturing has or hasn’t access to the area, issuing a different sign if his or her access is allowed or not. We apply technologies of artificial vision (Haar cascade for the detection of faces in the whole image captured by camera in real time and Face Landmarks to find the key points of human detected face, to calculate his proportions with Euclidean distances and to compare for the recognition of every person in specific) and serial communication with electronic devices so that the presents notice when there is an intruder or when the student has been recognized well and register his or her assistance.

The present article exposes the development of the research on the modeling of the windings of a power transformer to determine and analyze the transient voltages transferred to the secondary winding when an atmospheric impulse voltage is applied to the primary winding. Each winding is modeled considering its geometric and constructive form by means of concentrated electrical parameters - Resistance, Dielectric Conductance, Series Capacitances, Earth Capacitance, Inductiveness and Mutual Inductance - calculated with conventional formulations, which are incorporated into an integral model of the windings that explains his behavior in front of surges. The analysis is carried out with the support of a software of fast transients in the time domain, being able to demonstrate the utility of the model since it is possible to calculate, inside the windings, the transient voltages propagated and transferred, allowing the study of the stresses dielectrics in the insulation of the windings to improve their dosage and geometry in the design process of the power transformer.

With a macroeconomic context favored by a GDP growth of 5%, growth in investment and exports, it has been seen that the improvement in access to education, the growth in road infrastructure with greater intensity as of 2010. The action of the social actors of the state resulted in an increase in income and real spending per capita of households, with the final consequence of poverty reduction in rural areas. The gross agricultural product as an indicator of economic activity in the rural area has had an increasing behavior based on the greater area harvested, the increase in agricultural labor supply and, to a lesser degree, the importation of capital goods. The measurement of the impact in a transversal way has been made from the evaluation of the Juntos program for the years 2012 - 2013 from a panel sample. It was concluded that the program has improved the life level of the rural population being driven by education.

This work present the exoplanet transit program developed at OAUNI on the 2016 and 2017 campaigns. Seventeen exoplanet transits were observed and in six of them more than one event was registered. In a couple of cases the same transit were gathered four times. Preliminary reductions are shown in three transits (WASP-80 b, WASP-52 b, and WASP-77 A b). The associated light curves show well-defined events and their modeling let to infer physical parameters of each system. These measurements are the first ones of their kind collected by a peruvian astronomical facility.

In this work we present preliminary analysis of the astronomical photometry program for stellar clusters observed at OAUNI on the last years. Up to date twelve open clusters and nine globular clusters have been observed, in general, in more than one broadband filter. Multicolor photometry for selected clusters is shown along with a color-magnitude diagram for one open cluster. These measurements are the first ones of their kind collected by a peruvian astronomical facility.
