This paper proposes a close observation for journalism in the era of WhatsApp from the follow up of the program from April 8 to 12, 2019 of “Jor- nal BandNews Rio – 1ª Edição”, a radio news programme. From the thinking of researchers such as Lage (2001), Traquina (2005), Castells (2015), Wolf (1985) and Aguiar (2014), the study strains around classic theories such as newsmaking and gatekeeper in contemporary times. In conclusion, it presents the changes in the routines of press professionals that make it possible to think about the emergence of zapkeeper and audience newsmaking.

Latin America´s historical migration to North America has es- tablished a deep cultural, economic and political bond between Mexico and US, by means of institutional discursive process in each new North-American government. The candidate Donald Trump proposed the construction of a border wall during his electoral campaign, with the purpose of stopping Mexican migration, drug trafficking and transboundary criminals. In this context, the study analyses the discourse and communicative framework of the border wall, on the basis of Critical Discourse Analysis and the Ideo- logical Studies of Right-Wing Populism. The corpus of the work developed in the Political Communication Laboratory of the Government Sciences and Strategic Development Institute considers two discursive processes: a) Trump´s statements and electoral advertising on TV, and b) Enrique Peña Nieto´s statements on TV. The analysis incorporates the perspective of the multimodal discourse; therefore, audiovisual language is explored in its dimensions. The research questions are the following: how does foreign policy has been conceived with regard to the bilateral relation US-Mexico? And in which way the Mexican citizens are represented in the border wall´s discourse? This qualitative perspective organizes the multi- modal categories in: a) sound, b) visual and c) linguistic levels. Two political dimensions articulate the study: a) the legitimacy of foreign policy and b) citizens´ representation within the discourse. The labeling pro- cess of the corpus incorporates the use of ELAN software, which allows the integration of the analysis levels, conceived in the multimodal discourse com- position. The analysis outcomes establish the ideological discursive lines of both, Mexican and American institutional leaders, and allow an under- standing of the discursive strategies that have established foreign policy in this region of North America.

The purpose of this article is to briefly analyze the economic-ideo- logical model of the communication market in Brazil, highlighting its influ- ence on the current national political scene. Then we address the tensions caused by the flows, and not a particular element, of the new communication and information technologies in the crisis of the enunciative authority of jour- nalism; At the same time, we will reinforce the importance of this office for the maintenance of democracy in crisis in the country in particular, and in the West in general, through the mapping of technological strategies adopted by companies and professionals. Finally, in the light of similar research, we will conclude with the design of the curricular guidelines of what we understand should guide the debates on the transition of journalistic education (increas- ingly transdisciplinary, resorting to new technological support and the neces- sary reinforcement of humanistic strengthening) in the Brazilian universities. Later, suggestions are presented for the inclusion of media companies (large, medium, small and foreign on national soil), NGOs and civil society in the debate about journalism that we want in the midst of the democracy crisis.

This research has a double purpose: on the one hand, to investigate and analyze the construction of the image of Paolo Guerrero, current cap- tain of the Peruvian National Soccer Team, through the journalistic discourse of the sports press (Depor and El Bocón) during the process of the Russia 2018 Qualifiers. And, on the other, the influence of this media construction on Peruvian fans. For this, three representative parties were taken as an ex- ample in which the Peruvian striker manages to score (Chile, Argentina and Colombia). What we try to demonstrate in this work, is what have been the discursive resources to inform about the goals of Paolo Guerrero and thus, hand in hand, how these covers and articles have influenced the population to create a positive image of the player. It is projected that the sports discourse of the written press has contributed positively to the construction of the public image of the soccer player.

The article formalizes a theoretical-methodological proposal of the communicative practices of networked social movements as a new cycle of collective action. Digital activation is proposed as an emergent and inter- disciplinary object of study, which consists of contexts and dimensions that can be studied under the light of “deep hermeneutics”, and that represents a contribution to the sub-field of political communication.

The aim of this paper is to describe the study of Political Com- munication historiographically, showing its theoretical evolution. Political communication involves thinking of a discipline that has several theoretical approaches and schools of thought that, from the social sciences, politics, communication and sociology, have contributed to the construction of po- litical communication as a new academic discipline. Therefore, this paper seeks to contribute to the current discussions on the origin, definitions and approaches to analysis on political communication, which for many is con- sidered an illegitimate and trivial discipline, but which at the moment is in the center of the study of modern democracies from the remarkable crisis of political representation and political disaffection, the lack of political ideolo- gies and high personalization and especially the new forms of communicative interaction between citizens and governments.

The paper presents a review of the literature of news coverage on female presidential candidates. For this purpose, seven coverage frames  are included: a) visibility, b) gender reiteration, c) mediation of the intimate sphere, personality, d) thematic agenda, e) tonality and f) particularities of the media. Finally, an operationalization proposal is formulated for each of the frames that could be used in future research that addresses these political figures. It is concluded that women are represented from their intimate sphere and femininity, characteristics that are far from being culturally appropriate for debate in the public and political arena.
