The research follows a mixed approach; and aims to design a structural model that identifies explanatory variables in the process of purchasing crafts and medicinal plant extracts from the Inga community. Using the ethnographic method in qualitative research and using elements of the factorial and correlational design, based on the structural equation model (SEM) of the quantitative approach, instruments are implemented for interviewing, observing and surveying a sample made up of 500 passers-by who consume natural products and 280 members of the Inga community in the municipality of Cúcuta-Colombia. The results allow us to identify emerging categories such as participatory territorial planning, context, equality of rights, sustainable production, organization, research and innovation, marketing, training as a natural investment, as well as, within an environmental investment, factors of human talent capacity, use of ancestral practices, social factors, product, affection, technology; all of which affect consumer behavior as an irruption of the social order. It is concluded that, from the logit model, the cultural representation influenced by the consumer's behavior of products in the offer of the tribes is identified.

The article shows the studies’ results of the tourism potential of the city of Barranquilla (Colombia), from the port context. Methodologically, 392 surveys were conducted in order to assess the identity of the population with the Magdalena River and its ability to build the collective concept of a port city. Prospective scenarios were designed through focus group technique. In the 10-year scenario, the creation of a port authority is seen, as the main advance. In the 20-year scenario, the long-term planning and consolidation of the port city concept through infrastructure, logistics and tourism development stand out; an E-port, port and city integrated in its logistics and operations by ICTs is seen for a 30-year scenario. Among the conclusions it is highlighted that the Barranquilla citizen presents an identification barrier with the river and with the appropriation of the relational concept of port city as the main engine of socioeconomic development. The difficulty is identified to construct joint ideas between the tourist-port development in the context port city.

The environmental management systems, which are certified by the Standardization International organization - ISSO 14000, are in the search to ensure the appropriate resources management of enterprises to determine environmentally friendly conditions. Be able to fulfill the international standards and thus rendering access to international markets is the reason why factories develop certification process. Colombia is one of the countries where the ISSO 14000 norm has been adopted but, it is worth asking if this process spawn increase exportation volume. For the implementation of this research, the export performance was analyzed between exporting and certified markets and non-certified ones through a parametric hypothesis test. As a result, it was identified that there is a significant difference between the number of exportations by certified markets than the ones that are not. However, the study does not state that the abroad sales leverage is because of ISO 14000.

The purpose of this research is to provide preliminary empirical evidence about a set of macroeconomic variables that could explain the behavior of the stock market in Mexico. The variable to explain is represented by the Prices and Quotations Index (IPC by its acronym in Spanish), and the explanatory variables are characterized by the exchange rate Mexican peso – United States dollar, the interest rate and the oil price. The methodology for the empirical analysis includes, first, a correlational study on the variables object of this research; and secondly, univariate (simple linear regression) and multivariate (multiple linear regression) cross-section econometric contrasts which are applied on the aforementioned indicators. The results of this research provide empirical evidence about the influence of two of these macroeconomic variables on the behavior of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV by its acronym in Spanish): the exchange rate and the oil price.

This research is carried out with the aim of determining the social problem related to the lack of ethical and moral values at the academic level. Being a qualitative study, it uses the documentary bibliographic review as the main source for obtaining information, technically sustaining that the implementation in professional training processes that address business ethics as a transcendental element, can minimize corruption actions. The study has three references: university social responsibility, business ethics and its application in training processes in higher education institutions. The analysis determines that in social responsibility there is a recurring commitment of criminal activities with the participation of public and private officials, that universities develop professional training focused on technical skills, with little ethical and moral content. Hence, the need emerges to strengthen the ethical and moral establishment process in university education, incorporating units of analysis related to deontology or approaching this discipline as a transversal axis in all the subjects of the university curriculum. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a direct relationship between university social responsibility, business ethics and the need for its application in professional training processes.

The main purpose of this article is to determine what is the impact of financial inclusion policies in the city of Monteria (Colombia). Hence; the importance of exposing the factors that have been influencing compliance with these policies in the municipality of Monteria. The methodology of this empirical research emphasizes a field work that favored the application of primary sources, with statistical support, through a correlational analysis (simple linear regression), in order to identify which are the variables of greater incidence for the financial inclusion of the population of popular strata in Monteria. The results provide empirical evidence that the lower-income population sectors in Monteria have less possibilities of financial access, because they do not have sufficient guarantees to meet the payment of said credits; in this sense, greater financial inclusion is required towards the homes of the popular sectors in said municipality. Based on these findings, it is concluded that a greater financial inclusion for the municipality of Monteria will favor the development of more entrepreneurial actions that activate the local economy and achieve higher levels of well-being in the Monteriana population.

Electronic commerce (EC) has become a primary axis in different societies. Technology has become a fundamental part of the business environment, and the way organizations in the world are developed and connected. There is a growing number of companies that are generating alternative systems to increase their sales using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Hence, this study aims to determine the influence of e-commerce on the sales of Colombian Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This paper starts by testing a panel of 2.177 companies, where the industry, commerce, and service sectors are analyzed between 2012 and 2016. It is intended to know the causal effect of online trading compared to the total sales made by companies, as well as its impact on the sales developed by each of them. Through an econometric analysis, applying the Differences in Differences impact measurement model, it was found that the adoption of Electronic Commerce in medium-sized companies has a greater impact than in small companies, and that the activity that most influences e-commerce is in the service sector.

Financial inclusion has become an instrument within public policies exercised by countries seeking change in access to financial services. In Colombia, the “Opportunity Banking” program has been developed for this purpose. However, it does not analyze the scope of these processes in the well-being of the population. This article analyzes the financial inclusion effects on the development of the department of Huila. In this regard, a mixed methodology was implemented, by using the DEXPLIS method. In the quantitative phase, a multivariate statistical model was estimated and analyzed to determine if there is a relationship between financial inclusion and development. In the qualitative phase, interviews were carried out with officials from the Huila Governorate. The information gathering techniques were the literature review, statistical bases and interview guide. Among the obtained results, it was determined that there is a positive relationship between the Human Development Index (HDI) and the indicators of financial inclusion. Besides, the indicators of access and use reflected in the health, education and income dimensions were identified as long as the use of financial products and services is guaranteed.
