We explored points of view and experiences about compassion in the practice of Colombian nurses and contrasts with the other 14 participating countries of the international online study. The cross-sectional exploratory study with an online international survey with 10 questions (open and closed), had 1323 nurses, 103 were from Colombia. Colombian quantitative data were analyzed in Excel and qualitative data in Nvivo with thematic analysis and consensus among researchers. The Colombian sample counted with 83.5% teachers and they chose the definition of compassion as the "deep awareness of the suffering of others and the desire to alleviate that suffering" (84.3%) in contrast to 59.5% of the online international study. Although, there are statistically significant differences between the countries of the international online study in the definition of compassion and some experiences there are similarities in several qualitative findings. The sociopolitical, organizational and educational barriers for compassionate care are evident. However, the conscious and intentional nature of the compassion and nursing effort to develop it emerges. Some cultural variations of compassion and ways of promoting it in an increasingly transcultural professional exercise are evident.

Resumen
The objective of this study was to establish the distinctive characteristics of the responses to the stress of university students in the area of health. A cross-sectional design with a random and stratified sample of 820 students of Health Sciences of a Colombian Caribbean University was used. The instruments used were the MBI-SS, the UWES-S, EEC-M, the STAI and the depression of Bechk. The results indicate that the university students present different types of response to stress, mediated by diverse relationships between academic burnout and engagement with depression, anxiety, coping strategies and social-family support, which form complex patterns of mutual interrelations between the variables, forming three distinct groups of stress, "los pilos" students with high levels of engagement, "those involved and stressed", and "burned" students with high levels of burnout.

Resumen
The heart rate variability is a non-invasive method to evaluate the response of the autonomic nervous system on the cardiovascular system, assesses the recovery capacity of the cardiovascular system in response to physical exercise. The analysis of heart rate variability indices reflects the autonomic response to the different training loads. This thematic review shows the conclusions and evaluation protocols used to control and evaluate athletic training. The heart rate variability was analyzed by the time and frequency domain methods. The search was made in the databases of SCOPUS, PubMed and the google academic search engine, using the keywords "heart rate variability" "athletes", "cardiac autonomic modulations". The selected articles had as their target population athletes of competitive level of different sports. In conclusion, the evaluation of the heart rate variability allows determining the adaptation or non-adaptation to the training loads, programming the volume and intensity appropriate of the training load, supervising the performance throughout the training periods and monitor the performance sports during the championships.

Resumen
People who meet criteria for substance use disorders (SUD) are often victims of the stigma-discrimination complex (SDC) not only by the general society, but also by health professionals and the presence of self-stigma. However, the relationship of the SUD with predisposing biological factors and adverse social conditions, SUD are considered 'self-induced'. Likewise, it is known that SUD presents biological, psychological or developmental changes that undermine the decision of abandonment and persistence in consumption, despite negative physical, emotional and social consequences. The SDC related to SUD is a stressor that deteriorates the quality of life of consumers and, at the same time, it is configured as a barrier to access to health services. It is necessary to design and investigate the effectiveness of strategies to reduce SDC related to SUD in different populations and settings.

Resumen
The Objective was to determine socio-sanitary variables associated to the adequate use of cervico-uterine cytology in rural women-Cartagena. Analytical cross-sectional study. There were 638 women of 25 years of age with active sexual life or between 25 and 69 years old who started or not their sexual life in the rural area-Cartagena. A cluster sampling conformed by 15 corregimientos of the city of Cartagena was carried out. The information collected was included in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and analyzed using the SPSS version 20 program. It was found that 82.1% (524) of women underwent cytology, but only 35% (223) complies with the 1-1-3 scheme, a greater compliance of this is reflected in those women whose EPS was responsible for the payment of said service. Women from the rural area of Cartagena have undergone vaginal cytology at some point in their lives, however more than half do not comply with the 1-1-3 scheme, the socio-health variable that is statistically associated with a greater compliance with the scheme is not having to pay for this service, which positively influences the proper use of Cytology.

Resumen
In this study, we sought to describe the influence of family functioning on health care in a group of pregnant adolescents from a neighborhood in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia. A descriptive study was carried out, using the technique of intentional non-probabilistic sampling or by convenience formed by 36 pregnant teenagers living in a neighborhood of the city of Santa Marta, Colombia. Using the family Apiogram and family test as an instrument, some sociodemographic data were also investigated to characterize the population. The inclusion criteria were to be a pregnant adolescent without added pathologies, residents in the neighborhood and to accept voluntary participation in the study before signing informed consent. The familiogram showed 100% bad relationships with their parents and in the family Apgar test only 41.6% showed good family function. The rest of the population studied showed some degree of family dysfunction. This study found similarity with that found by other studies in terms of family functioning, since the importance of family support has been stressed, stating that it increases in the pregnant woman the feelings of efficacy and the resources to face the pregnancy process.

Resumen
The objective of the study was to determine the family profile related to vaccination coverage in children under 5 years of age in rural areas, Cartagena. A transversal analytical study was carried out, with a sample of 420 children under 5 years old, selected by random sampling by conglomerates, by means of proportional fixation. A survey of family profile, family APGAR and vaccination format was applied "Evaluation of the coverage, opportunity and complete scheme of the permanent program" according to the Ministry of Social Protection of Colombia. In the evaluation of the family typology, it was found that 49.8% are nuclear families and 74.5% functional; the main caregiver is the mother. The minors live in families of 4 to 6 members, supported economically with 1 SMLV, affiliated to the subsidized regime. Family functionality was associated with greater coverage with viral triple reinforcement (71.2%). It was concluded that a greater support and family approach strengthens the patterns of care and health management in children under 5 years through healthy practices such as vaccination for health promotion and disease prevention.

Resumen
The concept of asexuality has recently taken on importance in the medical context. However, extensive polysemy is evident in scientific publications. The aim of the present review was to synthesize the concept of asexuality in biomedical publications. It Was designed a review and qualitative analysis of narrative reviews published between January 1, 2000 and June 30, 2018. Review followed the PRISMA recommendations suggested for this type of review. The search was conducted in PubMed and the Virtual Health Library. It was used as descriptors or keywords: asexuality and revision. A synthesis was made for the definition of asexuality in three steps: coding of the text 'line by line', the development of 'descriptive themes', and the generation of 'analytical themes', typical of qualitative analysis. Eight articles were included. The analytical themes showed four components for the definition of asexuality: attraction/sexual desire as the principal component, sexual relations, loving affective relationships, and self-identification. Asexuality is a multidimensional construct. It is necessary to reach a consensus for the criteria of the definition and thereby design instruments or interviews to define the prevalence and associated factors in different contexts.
