This work relates several narratives taken from Watchmen, graphic novel that was adapted in the cinema, with reflection contexts of moral and political philosophy. The work confronts the worlds inhabited by the internal demons that lurk in human beings, and dialogues with some understandings of Kant, Mill, Bentham, Hobbes or Nietzsche. The history of the vigilantes is an opportunity to reflect on the human condition, its dilemmas and its contradictions. Hell is always around the corner, but in the end all is not lost. We will have gained too much if we opt for a greater awareness of our fears and constant ambiguities. To assume our condition and fight for the ideals of truth and justice from a correct understanding is the exercise that is proposed.

Beyond their mythological dimension, the contemporary movie adaptations of the Marvel superheroes universe offer a pedagogy about the technological relationship between body and mutation. Throughout the history of the superhero comic-book, the myth has evolved from the original unfolding of the hero, double identity and mutation towards narratives related to the oneiric and also to a field of philosophical tension between transhumanism and the posthuman. This article takes a historical and conceptual journey through the superhero archetype to emphasize the assembly between the possibilities of comics and the cinema. Both the contemporary singularities of the mutant, on the one hand, and the unorthodox approaches to the superhero by the filmmaker Manoj Night Shyamalan constitute a philosophical, ethical and mythological investigation of the political, social and perceptive devices that accompany the legacy of this tradition born at the same time that the adventurous comic-strips of the thirties

The present article, from the TV series The handmaid’s tale (Atwood and Moss, 2017), addresses the history of women and the universe of the feminine in articulation with psychoanalysis, trying to answer the place they occupy to it. Thus, it starts from the beginning of psychoanalysis with Freud and his commitment to listen to the discomfort of the pibas of that time. The tour leads to outline an answer about what is feminine for psychoanalysis and what it would mean to speak of a feminist psychoanalysis. Likewise, it emphasizes two signifiers that take an unprecedented prominence in the current state and that the series, as a phenomenon that accounts for the present, allows addressing: feminisms and religions.

Ridley Scott’s film G. I. Jane about women discrimination in the army and their right to be included presents a paradoxical solution: women’s inclusion in the army is accepted only if they choose to resign their feminity and become males. Freudian theory about the army and it´s conformation as an artificial mass can be articulated with Lacan´s sexual scheme from his 20° seminary, so as to notice that the mass conformation is based in a male logic that segregates woman in order to believe in the love of One exception to castration: the Leader

This article works from the movie Ninotchka (1939), by the duo Lubitsch-Wilder, starring Greta Garbo. The purpose of this article is to elaborate the articulation between love for the father and the Lacanian logical category of not-all based on the aforementioned film. Ninotchka´s lesson is that the failure in the paternal regime is not introduced by capitalist temptations, but rather by the Lacanian feminine. In addition, it distinguishes between the liberation of women and their “liberalization”. The great finding of the film lies in the invention of a way of expressing the feminine jouissance impossible to say, through Garbo´s unbridled laughter that produced one of the mythical scenes of Hollywood cinema.

The expansion of the serial-form –described by G. Wajcman– is the aesthetic and narrative correlate of the feminization of the world, according to a hypothesis by J.-A. Miller y E. Laurent. Given that such a mutation necessarily carries large subjective transformations, this paper addresses the “social incidences of feminine sexuality”– Lacan dixit– and its ethical implications, taking the series of heroines of Game of Thrones as object of analysis.
