Resumen
DLT/Blockchain technology offers a new approach to management and data sharing, being a solution that reduces costs, creates new market niches and improves the efficiency of some relevant processes in financial markets and specifically, in capital markets. These days, there exists a broad consensus about it between most of market operators. Nevertheless, its implementation is disruptive and there are doubts on how to overcome existing barriers and to obtain competitive advantages in the future. We already count on several experiences and strides that hint future developments.

Resumen
Big Tech entry in banking can radically change that industry, specially the markets for payments and SME and consumer credit. Even if in principle such entry is expected to enhance competition and benefit the clients of retail banking, it could also lead to market concentration and an increase in financial instability. Its net effect on the economy, consumers and firms will greatly depend on the response given by regulators and competition authorities.

The objective of this work is to approach the current state of the legal regime applicable in the European Union to the use of artificial intelligence systems in the financial sector and to reflect on the need to formulate principles and rules that ensure responsible automation of decision-making processes and that serve as a guide to implement artificial intelligence solutions in banking activity.
