Introduction: Quality in health institutions is achieved through the interrelation of all their processes and the interaction of these processes with each other and with the environment, with the aim of providing satisfaction to the patient and all interested parties. Objetive: To characterize the National Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery as a complex system linked to the quality management. Method: Historical logical methods and document analysis were used for the analysis from the theory of complex systems in health institutions establishing a link with the quality management system, its behavior, its interrelation and the predates that arise as a result of those interactions between them and with the environment. Result: The interaction of the key processes of the National Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (medical assistance-research and postgraduate training) has as a result new product: graduated professionals, introduction of technologies based on research and patient safety Conclusions: The National Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery is a complex system linked to quality management, which allows the implementation of the ISO 9001: 2015 standards, the interrelation of all its processes in a way that guarantees the satisfaction of patients and other interested parties, as well as achieving external recognition of the quality of health care provided in the institution.

Introduction: Thanks to studious like Edgar Morín, today we understand that the analysis of any aspect of human experience must be seen in a multifaceted way. However, the complexity of the organization to which one belongs is not always investigated. This type of analysis is increasingly necessary since it allows adaptation to the environment changes and the organization resilience. Objective: The present manuscript offered some valuations about the Tropical Medicine Institute "Pedro Kourí" (IPK) from the perspective of the complexity theory. Development: the most important transformations of IPK since its foundation, the most relevant aspects of its components diversity, as well as the dialectical interconnection among such components and with the environment are related from the perspective of the complexity theory. Conclusions: given that the level of complexity of an organization is determined by its structure, human behavior, the processes and technologies, IPK can easily be recognized as a complex system in every organization level and in turn to the relation with other national and international organizations.

Introduction: Currently Google is one of the most prestigious and recognized companies in the world, it was created in order to simplify searches and make information accessible. It has an extensive package of services that allows you to manage email accounts, view videos uploaded by other users, store documents in the cloud, know the location by geo satellites, manage online advertising, etc. Objective: Describe significant aspects of the history of Google and some of its services and tools. Methods: A classic documentary review was carried out that retrieved information about Google. Google's own search engine was used for information retrieval, as well as other alternatives, including Yahoo and Bing. Development: In Cuba, despite adverse circumstances, the state promotes strategies to computerize society, in that sense progress has been made with signatures of collaboration agreements with the Google Company. Conclusions: Google much more, than a company, has become a lifestyle for many people.

The provision of data and evidence in budgetary decision-making aimed at human capital programs is, in the opinion of experts in the field, an area lagging behind in companies, despite the recognition of the importance of monitoring and evaluating the investments made in this regard. The book that is reviewed focuses on leadership development and is presented as a suggestive manual for professionals in need of skills and knowledge to collect, measure and report on the results of training. The authors instruct on a process that takes place through five levels of measurement: reactions, learning, application and effects on the enterprise, and return on investment. In addition, a set of ideas is presented to help understand why leadership development and analysis are increasingly important to an organization's growth and success.

No. 30 (2019): INFODIREn la mañana del viernes 29 de noviembre de 2019 falleció a los 89 años de edad el Prof. Dr.C. Helenio Ferrer Gracia, Especialista de 2do grado en Epidemiología, Doctor en Ciencias Médicas, Profesor Titular e Investigador Titular, Profesor Consultante y Profesor Emérito de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana.

Introduction: The Cuban medical university continues to undergo profound transformations based on the strengthening of educational work from the curricular dimension, thereby promoting the training of human resources in health that the country requires to fulfill its social mandate. Objective: To propose actions to the educational work from the curricular dimension in the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río. Methods: A pedagogical investigation was carried out related to the educational work program implemented during the 2018-2019 academic year at the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río, guided by the dialectical materialistic method and the use of theoretical and empirical methods. The scientific council and institutional ethics committee approved the execution of this study. Results: The documentary analysis revealed the need for actions to strengthen educational work from the curricular dimension. The interview to 20 teachers guides by means of the participative technique "brainstorm or brainstorm", 100 % coincided in proposing actions capable of perfecting the educational work from the curricular dimension. The research was developed through two chapters, the first one reflected the characterization of the educational work in the Medicine career and the second one represented the proposal of actions to the educational work from the curricular dimension. Conclusions: Through the proposal of actions to the educational work from the curricular dimension, the formative and educative mission of the university was strengthened, as well as making possible the integral development of its students and teachers in the fulfillment of their socio-professional mandate.

La complejidad del Sistema Nacional de Salud (SNS), el contexto actual de cambios del modelo económico cubano y el perfeccionamiento en el sector pueden haber afectado los procesos de la gestión de la información y conocimiento (GIC) para la dirección y toma de decisiones en salud. Surgieron interrogantes que dieron paso a los objetivos: a) identificar el estado actual de la GIC en virtud de su estructura, capital humano y procesos tecnológicos asociados y b) proponer innovaciones contextualizadas que integren y faciliten los procesos de GIC para la adecuada toma de decisiones en el SNS. Se estudió el estado del arte, situación del problema a través de una investigación de desarrollo e innovación tecnológica, en la que se emplearon métodos teóricos y empíricos, se realizaron entrevistas y encuestas y se confrontaron criterios de expertos y trabajo con grupos focales que permitió realizar propuestas de innovación para el empleo de una estructura informacional en red, plantear la preparación para los gestores de información y directivos en las tecnologías requeridas, así como, la arquitectura idónea para el uso de las tecnologías asociadas a estos procesos; ello permitió aportar en aspectos teóricos, metodológicos, técnicos y prácticos que favorecen extensión a otros ámbitos.

No. 30 (2019): INFODIRSe presenta las palabras del Ministro de Salud Pública de Cuba, Dr. José Angel Portal Miranda, en el acto de recibimiento del primer grupo de colaboradores de la Brigada Médica Cubana en Ecuador. Recordó las palabras del Comandante en Jefe, cuando dijo: “Van a Centroamérica como médicos, como abnegados portadores de salud humana, a trabajar en los lugares y las condiciones más difíciles para salvar vidas, preservar o devolver el bienestar de la salud, y enaltecer y prestigiar la noble profesión del médico, nada más (…) (…) Nuestros médicos no se mezclarán en lo más mínimo con asuntos de política interna, serán absolutamente respetuosos de las leyes y costumbres de los países donde laboran. No tienen por misión propagar ideología”.
