Resumen
It is discussed why the frequently invoked educational agreement has not been possible. Failed national agreements, existing regional agreements, proposed agreement models and obstacles to their achievement are analysed. The author proposes that the idea of an agreement centred on shared principles or policies be abandoned in favour of a commitment regarding the continuing differences based on the multiple dimensions and fracture lines that permeate education, and that it be broken down into a set of more specific commitments with regards to each one of these.

Resumen
The construction of an innovative education system requires more than the accumulation of innovative practices: The data show that, despite the advances made in terms of educational innovation, innovation appeared in the education system fundamentally through individual or school experiences and projects, but not as a consequence of a systemic change that promotes innovation as an inherent element. Spain has an education system that integrates different innovations, but reducing the gap between the innovative vocation of teachers, and school performance, and the system as a whole, requires a specific innovation system

Resumen
This article reviews the antecedents and mechanisms of the reinvention of the role of firms in the contemporary social contract, in response to the following questions: i) Can sustainability become the global ethical principle that guides the new social contract?; and ii) How does this principle translate into corporate decision-making, responsibilities and relationships? With the support of Integrative Social Contracts Theory and corporate social responsibility literature, the role of businesses in a new social contract for sustainability is explored.

Resumen
We study the labor share in the OECD corporate sector for the (early) 21st century. Firstly, the cross-country average is trendless over this medium-run horizon after adjusting for intellectual property products (IPP) rents as in Koh et al. (2017). Secondly, the behavior of the labor share is heterogeneous increasing for equally as many countries (e.g., France and the United Kingdom) as it decreases (e.g., Germany and the United States). Thirdly, the cross-country differences in labor share are driven by the differences in labor productivity growth and not wages.

Resumen
Las nuevas plataformas de servicios aparecidas como consecuencia de la revolución tecnológica 4.0, a pesar de reproducir mercados duales ya presentes en la historia desde hace siglos, sí son novedosas por su renovada importancia y por influir de un modo inusitado en las relaciones laborales. Las nuevas formas de empleo surgidas a raíz de estas modifican las relaciones laborales y, en parte, hacen peligrar la estructura de ciertos derechos laborales para un conjunto no pequeño de trabajadores. Ante esta nueva realidad, los agentes sociales deben reaccionar. En base a ello, ya hoy, conocemos de unas primeras experiencias a este respecto.

Resumen
Since 2012, the option of offering Vocational Training (FP in the Spanish acronym) courses in the dual mode exists. In this article we present provisional evidence concerning the causal impact of the new dual FP courses on the labour insertion of young people, based on data for the Community of Madrid. The results indicate that dual FP improves labour insertion compared to full-time FP. Dual FP graduates work more days in the first two years after graduation and are more likely to obtain a contract at their internship firm.

Resumen
By the eve of the Great Recession income inequality had increased for nearly three decades in developed countries. Simultaneously, economic liberty was higher than at any previous time. Does society face a dilemma between preserving individuals’ freedom and reducing inequality? In this essay no clear long-run association is found between economic freedom and income inequality for present-day advanced countries. However, some correlation between economic freedom and top income concentration exists for specific periods and, particularly, for Anglo-Saxon countries.

Resumen
This paper addresses the notion of a social contract focusing on the political equilibriums that make it possible. After developing the main political theories that explain its growth, the paper addressed the different structural changes that have led to a transformation in Welfare States such as globalization, the outsourcing of the economy or demographic aging. Special mention deserves technological change as a key element in the new social contract.
