Resumen
The cathedral architectural model exerted an important influence on other temples of lower rank, especially with regard to the spatial configuration of its main liturgical spaces. The location of the choir, which is completely detached from the sanctuary, required a well-defined corridor that connected both spaces. Through the analysis of different local examples of the Archdiocese of Seville, specifically of the collegiate church and parishes of Jerez de la Frontera, its form and function are studied, as well as its remarkable capacity for the evocation of symbolic scenarios.

Resumen
The off-color compliment is studied from the sphere of lexical availability in university students in the city of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The methodology was a survey that asked 600 university students (300 men and 300 women) to write down the off-color compliments they knew. With this information, the statistical classificationof the sample was carried out by lexical availability index (LAI), while off-color compliments were metaphorically organized.

On the basis of the theoretical proposals of Jean Baudrillard, Michel Foucault and René Girard, the functioning of mimetic desire and utopian bodies in La Desdichada [The miserable] is analyzed. This short story by Carlos Fuentes is comprised in Constancia y otras novelas para vírgenes [Constancia and other stories for Virgins]. The affective relationship devolved between two individuals (the characters Bernardo and Toño) and an object (a mannequin that acquires its own personality) is examined by means of several variations of triangular sexual desire. Finally, there is an account of the process by means of which the humanization and involution of the object takes place.

Resumen
This article explores the contributions from Alicante’s historian Rafael Altamira y Crevea, who in 1909 was appointed by the University of Oviedo, institution in which he was a professor, to travel to various educational institutions in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Cuba, Uruguay and the United States with the definite intention of establishing academic and intellectual relationships between America and Spain. The transcendence of this visit is stressed, as the intellectual’s ideas were well received by the public opinion as well as the implementation of mechanisms for the interchange of human and material resources between both continents and their influence in the construction of the project of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

On the basis of some conceptualizations from the feminist literary criticism, the tale “The day Juan Rulfo died”, comprised in Ningún reloj cuenta esto (2002) [No clock tells this] by Cristina Rivera Garza, it is proposed to display the rejection to maternity from a male perspective. Such resource allows noticing an essential elementin the author's poetics: the juxtaposition of gazes, in this case, a woman seen by a man.
