Resumen
Based on the field of relational ontology, this article discusses how the mobilization of the Zoque people of northern Chiapas evokes the production of stories of supernatural beings who struggle against the 2.2 oil round and other extractive projects, to reveal unique ways of understanding and relating to nature in a location where the government is poised to implement hydroelectric, oil, mining, and geothermal projects in Mexico. We discuss ethnographic studies that reveal the symbolic forms elicited during socio-environmental struggles over territory and nature in the current context of the global environmental crisis.

Resumen
The migratory phenomenon has been approached over decades from the different approaches that compose it. In this sense, it is often thought that poverty and violence are the only factors that push people to leave their communities, however, in recent years it has been observed that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender population, Transvestite, Intersex, Queer, Asexual (LGBT+) is displaced for reasons of gender violence, in particular the transsexual community. Through a series of interviews and ethnographic work, it has been possible to document part of the incidents that they suffer along the way, in order to make known the different degrees of vulnerability experienced by transsexual male and female migrants in Central America. and Mexico, especially because it is a recent phenomenon scarcely analyzed and poorly documented by the academic community, which kept migrant transsexual women and men in a situation more than invisible by the academy.

Resumen
Along with the conquest and colonization, the diverse sexual practices of the Mesoamerican people were reduced to the epitome of sin. Under the prohibition, they established punishments against sexual dissidences that didn´t align to the Christian moral. Founded in these first notes, the text submitted is an approximation to the history of sodomy, regarding control, relationships and representations established during this period. This are described and analyzed on the basis of chronicles and colonial sources that we have located in some of the archives of México, Chiapas and Guatemala, with the main purpose of extending the observations regarding the intrusion of the civil and religious authorities in the sexual affairs

Resumen
The sociology of Norbert Elias and feminism reflect on the naked bodies of women as a long-lasting symbol, whose origin as a preponderant discursive tradition in art dates from the Renaissance. We seek to understand the way in which women’s naked bodies remain in the visual arts as a signifier of desire, sin, and evil; whose meanings are anchored to a subjectivity typical of a social context. The reiteration of women’s naked bodies requires a holistic understanding of the way in which the behavior of the body has been shaped, which is part of a process of civilization in Western society that involves the disciplinarity of the instincts. The naked body, hidden in society, becomes a signifier of desire, sin, and evil in art. The body is where the relationship between subject and society is indiscernibly inscribed.

Resumen
This article exposes and analyzes the construction of the Embera-Katío social movement, based on the effects caused by the Urrá hydroelectric project in Colombia and the defense of the territory, under the argument that this movement marked the way and the forms of defense. against hydropower projects in Colombia. In methodological terms, the article draws on two moments of ethnographic fieldwork, one in 2007, which focused on the beginnings and the first 10 years of operation of the political organization, and the second in 2018, which focused on the trajectories of embera-katío leaders. The article contains four sections: the first deals with the theory and concepts of social movements, the second gives an account of the beginnings of the Embera-Katío movement, and the third explains the organization's strategies against the construction of the hydroelectric plant and the fourth presents the discussion about the similarities of other anti-dam movements in later times.

Resumen
This article discusses the results of a reading promotion activity carried out in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on a literacy perspective, a constructivist approach, and the appreciation for reading through cinema, spectators were guided through diverse literary genres in order to encourage readers to critically understand what they read by referencing their own personal contexts. A workshop involving participatory-action research was undertaken with three fundamental objectives: promote reading, highlight literature’s relevance in culture and society, and promote reading comprehension. A conclusion derived from this exercise is that a film-literature duo can be useful in fulfilling the stated objectives.

Resumen
The objective of this article is to present a general reflection regarding the dance of the Tlahualiles performed in Sahuayo (Michoacan, Mexico) and to propose an interpretation of its meaning taking into account its current dynamics. We present two visions (an interpretation of historical documentary material and a description of the dance by its participants) to show the internal dynamics and possible tensions between its origins and its current state. The tension between Catholic religiosity and popular religiosity appears to be present in the performance of this dance. We registered a recent process of “consecration” to eliminate “pagan” elements that had prevailed. Our methodology consisted of analyzing historical documentary material and a qualitative approach involving techniques that included interviews, informal talks, and the observation of the dance at different venues.

Resumen
The essay examines the notion of personhood among Northern Lacandon people in Chiapas, Mexico. The Lacandon believe that everything that exists is endowed with a soul (pixan); therefore, all creatures inhabiting the jungle, including animals, are regarded in essence as people (winik). Thus, in a system where everything is intrinsically “human”, the Lacandon resort to different physicalities to classify otherness and define themselves as an ethnic group. We illustrate the ontological conceptions of the Lacandon through the analysis of the burial treatment given to the different winik. We show that concepts such as “personhood”, “humanity,” and “animality” are relative and culturally variable.
