Resumen
The contents of the press in Burgos during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) are examined in this study. Burgos was converted into the capital of nationalist Spain after the coup d’état against the Republic. In the new totalitarian vision that the Francoist regime had kept in reserve for the communications media, the Diario de Burgos and El Castellano newspapers functioned from the very first day as spokespersons and loudspeakers of Fascist propaganda. Their new role is observed through the analysis of their front pages as newspapers of ideological struggle at the bidding of the Francoist cause; the armed conflict is the principal theme, although with its prolongation over time, its importance diminished to give coverage to other questions, and the treatment of newsworthy items, being quite similar to the potent system of censure and press guidelines, underlines the ultra-Catholic and more doctrinaire nature of El Castellano.

Resumen
In the last 20 years, communication and journalism have undergone more transformations than in its more than 400 years of history. Technologies have forced the mass media to reinvent themselves to respond to new challenges of the cultural industries. For this reason, the journalist's professional and work competencies that require the media in their digital convergence are identified. An investigation was conducted through a qualitative methodology, through surveys and in-depth interviews with agents of six media outlets in Colombia of press, radio and television, of greater consultation in the country. The sample was complemented with students, graduates, teachers and directors of Communication and Journalism programs. The study shows that the new journalist needs specific, general, transversal, academic and professional skills to face the new challenges and scenarios of media convergence.

Resumen
Between November 1924 and June 1925, Indalecio Prieto published a series of editorials in El Imparcial. In this investigation, these contributions will be studied as a whole. Confronted by the military dictatorship of General Primo de Rivera, Indalecio Prieto, inspired by Miguel de Unamuno’s mandate of “We have to make public opinion”, managed to circumvent censorship and transfer the demand of liberties to the newspaper’s readership. His experience as a politician, journalist, and director of the El Liberal newspaper based in Bilbao provide an intuitive, enlightened and modernised interpretation of public opinion. With nearly a decade of hindsight, this collection of texts deserves a second read using later theories concerning the conformation of public opinion. It also allows for a closer look at a strong, critical mind facing a dictatorship, which will culminate with the known Delenda est Monarchia by Ortega and Gasset, and the subsequent emergence of the Second Republic.

Resumen
This article analyzes the accountability tools external to the media in Andalusia and the Basque Autonomous Community, which are the following: viewer associations; colleges, unions and journalist associations; press councils, audiovisual councils and media observatories; ethical codes and recommendations; blogs about journalism; and academic research groups. A comparative perspective allows us to know the state of these deontological mechanisms and establish relevant comparisons for their effectiveness in the task of ensuring the social responsibility of the media.

Resumen
This article offers an analysis of the development of digital journalism. The primary argument is that digital journalism is currently involved in a third stage in which there is a need to go back to basic journalistic principles, such as contrast and the contextualisation of the news. In the previous stage there were three main elements: the fight for being the first in giving the news, the rapid technological development and the proliferation of fake news. The current stage –the one we called the digital pendulum- is a reaction to these elements. The methodology of the study is based on the analysis of 24 semi-structured interviews with representatives of six news organisations in Catalan and Basque language (Berria, Argia and Goiena, in the Basque case, and Ara, El Punt Avui and Vilaweb, regarding Catalonia).

Resumen
The following article proposes a study of books as a journalistic format through the phenomenon of narrative journalism in Spain. Books are a journalistic format with barely any presence in our country and which haven't stimulated much interest. However, a series of recent events has encouraged the production and edition of these works. New publishing houses specialised in journalistic works were born and a new generation of narrative journalism authors emerged, what caused an environment of great effervescence. The obtained data reveals the new opportunities journalists have to look for other publishing ways, the limited presence of e-books, as well as the specific reasons why books are used for publishing journalism. The discussion shows how books can be an excellent media for journalism and the dangers and inconveniences they face, mainly funding.

Resumen
This article examines the conformation of a research line on Social Journalism, in special in Spain and Latin America. Through the use of bibliographic review, we identify three layers of literature that correspond to three different understandings of the same concept: as a specialized journalistic field, as a media reform perspective, and as a role or model of professional practice. The research reveals the dominance of critical and normative approaches, and opens the discussion about the theoretical relevance of this label according to other conceptualizations about journalism, citizenship and human rights.
