Resumen
This paper proposes an analysis of the relationship between bovines and humans through the lens of animal agency, using various artworks recovered from the site of Polizzello (western Sicily) dated between the 8th and the 6th centuries BCE. Specifically, we study a group of table amphorae decorated with bucrania, together with representations of these animals and hybrid beings painted on clay dishware. First, we will explain briefly the historical context and the artistic traditions of the island. Next, we will describe the site of Polizzello and the range of artworks. Finally, we will discuss these objects under the lens of the so-called «animal-studies» to highlight the important role of the bovines in human social dynamics.

Resumen
Over the past few years, several aspects have improved and enhanced our knowledge of the occult foundations of Surrealism. These gateways between the art movement and Esotericism should not be a complete mystery, since readers are sure to have already read well-founded analyses in papers and books...

The present work is integrated within the investigations around emblematic literature that are being developed in Spain in the wake of Santiago Sebastián’s work. In it, we will discuss the study and annotated translation of a selection of nine fauna emblems in the book Theatrvm omnivm scientiarvm, written in Latin and dedicated to the Count of Oñate, Viceroy of Naples, to celebrate the commencement of the studies of the University of Naples in 1649. Giovanni Battista Cacace, author of the book, uses the animals present in the allegories and fables in the classical and Christian tradition to symbolize and exalt the figure of the viceroy.

Resumen
In 1996, television publicizes the news of a disease that affects cows, bringing them to death. This fact in a few days has a central place in the mass media information. Carol Rama, however, is interested by other aspects: the suffering and agony of the animal, the poses it takes, the obsessiveness of irrepressible movements. The animal and the woman, the madness of the cow and the individual state towards which Rama does not stop addressing, seem to be joining on a fragile threshold, without finding a balance and which remains in the condition of an identity oscillation. The contribution focuses on the presence of the animal in the work of Carol Rama and especially in the nineties, analyzing how the seduction for the disease of the animal reveals the gaze of a woman sensitive to many issues of the most recent feminist theories.

Resumen
Architecture as a refuge, as the construction of a habitat capable of responding to the needs of those who inhabit it, allows us to consider the possibility of learning from the intuitive way in which certain animals build their refuges as their own architectures. Beings that take shelter in nature following diverse guidelines, constructing habitable spaces that, in some cases, use their surroundings as their best ally. In other cases the animals rely on what is already there and, sometimes, dig the earth to find shelter, while others are able to take remains from the environment or produce artificial materials to build their shelter. We can observe that the strategies used by the animal world for the configuration of their shelters are similar to those of man when it comes to building and imagining new habitable spaces.
