The art-political relationship was one of the central theoretical points of the Frankfurt school, most recognized in some of its members as Walter Benjamin and Herbert Marcuse. Theodor Adorno's aesthetic stance, however, has been recognized for rejecting such a direct relationship between social praxis and artistic praxis. This argument, based on the interpretation of the autonomous nature of art as opposed to the political potential of technical reproducibility for its massification, left Adorno's aesthetic reflections on the development of contemporary art history, criticism and philosophy behind. This is the point I want to make here. I intend to show how the critical model of artistic praxis as political praxis is postulated in the adornian aesthetic, so much so that in the Aesthetic Theory of Adorno an aesthetic of the political can be found, an idea under which a great part of the current discourses on contemporary art are constructed.

In “Excavation and Memory” Walter Benjamin approaches the subject of remembering from a specific metaphor: excavation. But far from being only a metaphoric activity, excavation is sometimes the literal action withewhich to find clues to solve contemporary mysteries. In Mexico, country where since 2007 there are more than thirty thousand lost people, men and women have become recently excavators who, through loose soil, search without rest for footprints or traces of their loved ones. What is to be done witheso much barbarity? Perhaps through the Benjamin’s notion of storytelling we could think of remembering in terms of unearthing as a possibility for mourning in the country of the lost ones.

This article has two parts: on the one hand, it attempts to outline the fundamental points of T. W. Adorno's critique of causality and, in particular, in reference to Aristotle and Kant. On the other hand, it made explicit the drift of this criticism in his own philosophical project, which pays special attention, in his late thoughts, to the music of the young composers of Darmstadt. Ligeti’s Atmosphères is one of the fundamental works to account for the crossover between philosophy and music in Adornian thought and, in particular, witheregard to the problem of causality

The aim of this article is to analyse the scope that Lenin’s figure could have exerted on Theodor W. Adorno’s philosophical development. Could be said that Adorno was “Leninist”? Since references to Lenin are rather scarce in Adorno’s bibliographic corpus, it is at least striking that Adorno proposed to Max Horkheimer to make a “strictly Leninist Manifest” in 1956. To deepen this question, it will be essential to reflect on the evolution of the notion of “praxis” at the beginning of the 20th century, especially in its link with the dialectical thought inherited from Hegelian philosophy.

The objective of this text is to discuss the following hypothesis: in the context of damaged life, songs withea claim to autonomy, which accept contradictions and what is not identical and that, therefore, have the potential for criticism and human formation affect the listeners and are capable of producing rejection. From the Critical Theory of the Society, it is argued that the rejection is also desirous, because we are very violently deprived of formation. Thus, it is concluded that the damaged life builds a relationship of resentment between the listeners and the music withepretensions of autonomy, which becomes dangerous in the face of the few training possibilities that remain in the contradictions.

The fundamental objective is to show how Georg Simmel’s analysis of Modernity is an antecedent that will decisively influence the configuration of what is known, from the celebrated essay by Horkheimer, as Critical Theory. For its representatives and defenders, though not only, the Simmel’s contribution, quantitatively and qualitatively, did not go unnoticed and favored the conformation of said theory in different ways, either to give continuity, to criticize it, or to complement it, but always contributing to its projection and further consolidation.

Susan Sontag wrote a controversial article about pornography: "The pornographic Imagination" in which she refers to Hegel. Hegel radically changes th. way of understanding the philosophical task and thus inaugurates, in her understanding, a new post-religious language that opens possibilities hitherto unknown to Western culture. The concept of negativity is central. Pornography is a radical exercise in negativity. The subject travels a painful but necessary learning patheto reach their liberation. In this "critical" way, authors such as Freud, Sartre, Derrida or Genet are presents briefly in this article coming from the hand of Sontag.

Attempt to show how artistic and literary criticism is the model of the critical conception of philosophy, a characteristic conception of the thought of Kant (known as criticism), Marx and of the Critical Theory of Adorno and Horkheimer.

This paper examines the problem of the normative basis of immanent social critique, which is the paradigmatic form of critique inside the tradition of Critical Theory. To this purpose, my paper analyses two social fields and shows up factors of intrahistorical transcendence in them, which might serve to sustain a form of immanent critique. These fields are constituted by fundamental political concepts and the historical possibilities of social reality.
