This paper presents the findings of the first part of a three-stage mixed method research study which investigates parental involvement in primary school education in Cyprus, and in particular the role of parents in this sector of education in Cyprus. The findings presented in this paper are based on the analysis of four interviews from major stakeholders in Cyprus. The interviewees consisted of the former Director of Primary School Education, the Chairman of Cyprus Primary Schools Teachers 'Union, the Chairman of the Pancyprian Confederation of Parents' Association of Primary School Education, and the Chairman of the Pancyprian School of Parents.

In this article, we provide a perspective on couple psychotherapy from a humanistic - existential - phenomenological orientation, specifically from the perspective of logotherapy and the thinking of Viktor Frankl. This represents an attempt to understand the human being as a being that is a relationship, and in the possibility of making a truly encounter with another, based on an existential attitude of openness and authenticity, which mean, to be willing to the world, to You who presents as kind person, appropriatingthe risk of being genuine and letting himself be touched by all the valuable things that can be found and  realized in the bond, which is what happens between a Self and a You. Communication is understood asthe foundation of the relationship, constituting a key piece of work to understand the dynamics of the couple. Likewise, a libertarian view of human relations is developed, which emphasizes individuality andresponsibility as the basis for forming a community as a couple, and with an axiological vision of the relationship that contemplates values that, when experienced, can contribute to life having more senseIn the same way, a therapeutic proposal sustained in phenomenology is developed as a methodology andattitude towards the couple, a Socratic dialogue between three, which seeks the unfolding of the spiritualin the couple in terms of self-distance and self-transcendence, in order to be more aware of the way theyrelate and assume the risk of deciding for some possibility, perhaps to go out to meet the other and live amore satisfying relationship.

The present research, of psychometrical kind, analyses the validity and reliability of the Learning Climate Questionnaire in a simple of 152 university students of Psychology from a private university of Arequipa. The data was processed following the criteria of the classical theory of tests and the factor analyses theory. The results indicate that the test has a structure of one factor only which explains the 54.5% of the total variance, with an internal consistency level of 0.915. We conclude that the test is valid and reliable, but it is necessary to research more with representative samples of different levels of teaching.

The author argues that Transactional Analysis is a personality theory and a psychological intervention system for personal growth and development, which has helped people in their relationships by allowing them to learn to relate in a healthier way. Among the several fundamental elements to manage our lives as a couple, our ability to ENJOY is important.

In the present work, two new generalized weighted methods of imputation of missing data are developed and tested using a daily rainfall series. The proposed methodology allows to fully rebuild the time series while preserving its statistical properties. Rainfall records in the state of Tabasco, Mexico, during the period 1980-2012 were used to test and evaluate the proposed methodology. The imputation of missing data in a given weather station is performed by using daily data from neighboring stations with a similar rainfall behavior. The choice of optimal parameters for the proposed formulae is based on minimizing the mean absolute error (MAE) via an evolutionary strategy (CMA-ES). The K-means method was used with the Euclidean distance in order to select the adequate neighboring weather stations. Five different methods were applied to estimate the optimal number of clusters: the elbow method, gap statistics, TraceW, Hartigan and Krzanowski-Lai indices. In addition, the structural stability of the chosen clusters was evaluated in order to demonstrate that these represent the correct data structure and are not the result of an artificial internal procedure of the grouping algorithm. Results from two different statistical tests, Friedman and Nemenyi post hoc, showed that our two new methods produce significantly and statistically better estimation when compared to existing methods in the literature.

This study assesses the influence of PM10 on the optical thickness of aerosols in the central Andes of Peru, in addition to analyzing and establishing their circulation patterns from July to October 2017. This particular period is considered herein because the largest biomass burning events are usually recorded during these months. The regional meteorological-chemistry transport model WRF-Chem (version 3.7) was used with the Fire Inventory from NCAR (FINN) fire emissions dataset and aerosol optical depth (AOD) data from the Aerosol Robotic Network monitoring network (AERONET), which has a CIMEL sun photometer located at the Huancayo Observatory, the most important city in the central highlands of Peru. The simulation used a single domain with a grid size of 18 km and 32 vertical levels. Results showed an increase in PM10 concentrations with an increase in the number of fire outbreaks and AOD during July, August, and September. In contrast, a slight decrease in PM10 concentrations was recorded for October. Further, the meteorological conditions did not favor the occurrence of fire outbreaks in the Mantaro valley during the entire study period; however, an increase in rainfall reduced aerosol concentrations in October. In addition, although the vertical movements prevailing over the central Andes were ascending, they were descending along the Peruvian coast, thus favoring and hindering the dispersion of aerosols in the first and second cases, respectively. Finally, the authors assessed, analyzed, and confirmed the influence of biomass burning on AOD in the studied region.

The purpose of this research is to determine the validity and reliability of the Academic Stressors Scale (ECEA) developed by Cabanach et al. (2016). To this end, this scale was applied to a sample of 150 university students (38 men and 112 women) of the Catholic University of Santa María with an age range of 16 to 32 years. To determine the criterion validity, first, item-scale correlations were performed, obtaining correlation coefficients that are between .429 and .697. The validity of the construct was assessed by exploratory factor analysis with the maximum likelihood method, obtaining a KMO value of .874. By means of the direct Oblimin rotation technique, 12 factors were found, of which, when doing the second factorization, only two factorswere left, which did not confirm the structure of the test proposed by Cabanach et al. However, the Academic Stressors Scale (ECEA) has adequate psychometric properties that make it possible to recommend its use as an instrument for assessing academic stress.

This research brings up that anxiety is a factor commonly experienced by students in times of exams, and that it has negative influence on the grades obtained. Consequently, this study aims at verifying the effectiveness of the progressive muscle relaxation technique in order to reduce anxiety during exams and increased academic performance. For this purpose, 292 Psychology students from a university in Metropolitan Lima were selected, one and then divided randomly into one experimental group (136) and control group (156). A record sheet was used to log their pulse, as well as to register subjective units of distress, before and after the technique was applied. The results show the effectiveness of the technique to reduce anxiety by 78.4%. In addition, an inverse correlation was found between anxiety and academic performance, albeit not significant.

Attachment theory is a significant contribution in the psychological field in order to understand how children build their bonds with a significant person and how this schema affects their development during adolescence and adulthood both in the creation of bonds and in other important aspects, such as learning and social relationships. Possible impacts on cognitive and affective processes are analyzed when the building of secure attachment is disrupted throughout the life cycle but, mainly, during young adulthood. This is due to the significant areas of development during this life stage, such as university, mate searching and work. Therefore, this article reviews theoretical issues of attachment, its relational involvement and its impact on the building of representational patterns that determine the evolution of people and their relationships. Additionally, this study analyzes the types of attachment and describes relevant research with this theory framework, as well as various ways of assessing attachment through scales and other instruments validated in Europe and Asia. It is concluded that there is a weak development of the psychometric area in Latin America; therefore, it is important and necessary to expand this area in the Ecuadorian context. ies.
