Resumen
The process of globalization requires that local and regional actors must be incorporated into global economic networks and flows to achieve competitiveness and economic development. This implies changes that modify the impacts and scope of transport infrastructures. In the case of freight distribution, air transport is still a little part of international cargo volume, where only a few airports centralize most of this volume. In Spain, only four airports are relevant in the management of air cargo, especially for the international freight management. This research characterizes the main patterns of air cargo in Spanish airports. To achieve this goal, they are analyzed the recent evolution and patterns of air cargo transport around different variables, finding some notable changes that are modifying the air hierarchy.

Resumen
Extremadura is a region with significant demographic imbalances, especially with high aging rates. Its older population demands resources and equipments and, therefore, the objective of this work is to analyse whether the supply of health and social-health resources of a public nature presents an adequate distribution. Methodologically, Geographical Information Systems are used to calculate the accessibility to health resources and equipment and spatial correlation to determine if there are concentrations, as well as if they are related to the demand due to high aging. In response to the results obtained, as the concentration of negative contexts in the most rural areas, a series of improvements are established in order to contribute to greater social justice in Extremadura.

Resumen
Maritime transport currently plays a key role in global socio-economic relations. Certain policies, such as globalization, could not be understood without the development of maritime connectivity and its degree of accessibility. The aim of this work, in addition to making an approximation to the theoretical and methodological framework, is to relate development to maritime transport and its application to the specific case of the Canary Islands, where we analyse accessibility from the point of view of connectivity and, in particular, timetables and taxes in the context of the proposal for the Transinsular Axis of Transport, a policy aimed at cohering the territory through maritime and land transport. It delves into accessibility deficiencies, discussing their weaknesses.

Resumen
The objective of this work has been to determine that human settlements in the Jumilla-Yecla Altiplano region of the Murcia Region can be classified as rural population groups. This question is of interest within the scope of the Territorial Ordinance Guidelines of the region. To do this, flow diagrams were devised, with conditions such as: being a population nucleus and being located in rural areas, which had to comply with the human settlements studied –exception of the archaeological sites–. Only nine elements were qualified as villages, among the forty-nine cases studied. This work has allowed a first approximation to the definition-determination of rural population in the study area.

Resumen
The Andalusian regional government approved on May 16th 2017 the "Strategy to Promote the ICT sector Andalucía 2020”. Linked to the objectives of the TIC2020 strategy, 15 indicators have been defined, which should serve as a basis for evaluating the impact of the Strategy. Among the defined indicators, the so-called "Synthetic Indicator of Conditions of Context of Development of the ICT Sector" is aimed at measuring the contribution of the Strategy to improving the conditions of the business environment for the Andalusian ICT sector. However, the TIC2020 Strategy does not include the method to be followed to obtain this Indicator. Thus, the objective of our research has been to define and apply a methodology for calculating the indicator. For this, a synthetic index based on simple aggregation with equal weights has been defined, for which a methodology based on the Japanese TANKAN index has been designed. As a result of all this, the Synthetic Index has been obtained for the year 2017, with a value of 9.81, as well as a work method that should serve as the basis for obtaining the index during the Strategy period.

Resumen
The Upper Paraíba and Taperoá river basin are located in the semiarid zone of Paraíba State. Much of the delimitation of the semiarid region has Caatinga forests, which, due to its bioclimatic conditions, diversity and endemism, become a singular biome, extending over a surface area of 844,453Km2 IBGE (2010). The objective of this study was to evaluate soil use and cover, spatial pattern of fragmentation and connectivity of the Upper Paraíba and Taperoá basin. The mapping was done from GEOBIA classification of MSI images of Sentinel 2 satellite, and worked on GUIDOS software. The vegetation cover and the water and bioclimatic condition of the surveyed area were used. The results point to a greater presence of caatinga areas in quantity and connectivity in the northwest of Upper Paraíba and in the southwest of Taperoá.

Resumen
This study focuses on examining the innovation practices of small and medium enterprises in restaurant industry and their involvement in the quality of service. In this sense, the data of this research was obtained through the application of a structured questionnaire and an observation guide in 158 SMEs restaurants in the Mexico City's Historical Center. The results identify and classify the types of innovation -marketing, organizational, product and process- implemented by the SMEs under study. Together, this research provides useful information about the impacts generated by innovation, such as improvement of service quality, creation of collaborative networks and cost reduction, among others.

Resumen
Environmental and social sustainability of commuting to work is an increasingly relevant line of research. The starting point of this paper is that a significant internal territorial heterogeneity persists on aggregate indexes of car use and that it is important to measure and understand this process correctly. This contribution propose the method of decomposition of aggregate rates (Das Gupta) as a valid methodology to understand correctly regional heterogeneity. Part of these geographical differences (between regions, degree of urbanization) is explained by a real behaviour gap. However, the sociodemographic and territorial compositions of the working populations are important as well. That is because the propensity to use the private vehicle varies along certain characteristics of the workers, and regional population structures linked to those characteristics are heterogeneous. From a policy point of view, to control (and eventually reduce) the use of cars in labour daily mobility must take into account both behaviour and composition factors. Corrective measures that only point to the behaviour of people might fail if they do not take into account the momentum of sociodemographic structures.

Resumen
The logistic activity has been analysed by different approaches, but with a lack of attention to its impacts in the urban and spatial configuration. This work studies the logistic expansion in the Urban Region of Madrid, considering the geographical polarization and its preferential location in suburban and rural zones in the metropolitan area. The methodology considers three variables enlightening the spatial and temporal diffusion: workers and companies by municipality, logistic land use by province and different types of logistic land use. The results confirm the dissemination of logistics in metropolitan areas according to suburbanization and spread processes, at the same time appears new urban centralities as a consequence of the capitalist integration of the economy at different scales.
