Resumen
The following study analyzes the management policy applied to the interventions of the Historical Neighborhood of San Blas, located in the Historic Center of Cusco during the period from 1990 to 1993, under the municipal management of the mayor of the city of Cusco, lawyer and politician Daniel Estrada Pérez “Qosqoruna”. Said interventions, collected in the document Works of Integral Remodeling of the old Neighborhood of THOQO KACHI (San Blas), included “paving works of its picturesque streets, modern lighting, treatment of facades and rainwater” (Municipalidad del Qosqo, Mi Nuevo San Blas, 1993 p. 10), the treatment of the Plaza and the insertion of paqchas(*). As a result, the neighbors of San Blas appropriated and identified with the public space, the outcome of the positive sociocultural and economic impact of the intervention in its heritage urban plan.

Resumen
The process of revaluing the built heritage of the Huaca San Borja, located within the metropolitan area of the capital of Peru, Lima, ran from 1986 to 2016. During these years and due to changes in government, and thence, in the orientation of public institutions, the management processes initiated after various agreements did not comply with placing this important heritage into social use, and today, construction work for its revaluation is still happening. On the other hand, in the different stages of the process, the local neighbors’ participation was not contemplated. The public and private entities that were in charge did not communicate that work would be done, much less how they would be linked to the project, given that they would be the main custodians of this archaeological heritage. This study analyzes the three management processes that the Huaca San Borja went through and how each of them influenced its recovery and revaluation.

Resumen
This investigation is carried out in the historic center of the city of Tumbes in Peru, which at present houses masonry in a clear state of disrepair, and has as its focus the old Cabildo. In said context, it seeks to discover and analyze the levels of recognition and participatory management, given different uses, of the valuation and memory of this historical cultural heritage, in order to identify the influence they exert in its conservation. The low level of interest of the citizens of Tumbes in the face of the Cabildo’s heritage is equivalent as if society entering a state of oblivion with respect to its monuments, losing even the ability to recognize them, which is analogously defined as heritage Alzheimer.

Resumen
The following study broaches an approach that uses tools from different fields of study, and seeks points of multidisciplinary convergence. Its goal is to explain the types of connections that residents of Neighborhood -Unit N°3 (UV3) have with de cultural assets contained within their physical and psychological environment. Thus, to begin, there was a critical review of the literature on community sense in the UV3. Subsequently, the theoretical contributions about cultural heritage and Sense of Place (SoP) were reviewed. Later, the research instrument, which contains a questionnaire with 16 questions written specially to verify the sense of place in the Neighborhood Unit N°3, was produced, reviewed and approved by the expert Phd. Julio Calderón Cockburn. Next, a diverse group of residents was selected according to the criterion of convenience for the execution of the questionnaire.
The results of the study reveal that the SoP of the residents participating in this study demonstratesa great sense of community, high indexes of identity and satisfaction with the UV3, and strong attachmentsto the place of biographical, spiritual, ideological and narrative type.

Resumen
The investigation seeks to carry out an analysis of the management of Colombian historical centers, relevant due to the efficacy of their current management. It has as its main character the city of Medellin, on which interventions have been carried out specifically during the last 25 years, from 1990 to 2015. The analysis is framed within the general context of heritage within Colombia, and includes the examination of some official government documents, and some analysis of the political and patrimonial approaches on which the strategies undertaken by the state are based on. All of these documents, used to create the local policies of Medellín, were reviewed, in order to be able to know the employed strategies in depth. It was also necessary to review the local Plan of Territorial Organization (POT), which pursues heritage conservation and city development, and is articulated in the Municipal Development Plan (PDM), both of which are part of the government’s strategy for the comprehensive improvement of neighborhoods.

Resumen
What are the communicating vessels between architecture and literature, between the concrete and habitable, and what is the gap between the linguistic and the inhabitability of the space created through words? Our purpose is to show the complementarity and the differences between both disciplines, through the novel La Sexta Lámpara (2004) by Pablo De Santis, which centers its plot around the historical development of nineteenth century and modern architecture, the utopic projects of each and how they differ in the European and American geographic space. To establish these connections and develop them, the ideas of David Spurr in his book Architecture & Modern Literature (2012) are employed.

Resumen
Research on fortifications and military architecture is quite scarce, efforts to interpret and reconstruct these spaces, in the cases where physical evidence of their existence have been lost, are so as well. The purpose of this paper is precisely to show what is a presidio, as well as the spaces and activities that constituted said structure. This is achieved through a historical and a virtual reconstruction, where the latter is carried out through an architectural survey. Hopefully, it will revalue these edifices and perhaps, in the future, we will put forth a proposal that the fortifications of the Camino Real north of Tierra Adentro be declared cultural heritage, in the category of military or fortified heritage.

Resumen
La Blanca is a Terminal Classic period Mayan settlement, located in the Petén jungle of Guatemala. In the imposing rooms that form the Acropolis, there were found much of the stucco which formed the inner lining, even with traces of colour. Since these rooms were excavated, the stuccos have been affected by the water that rises by capillarity and the salts crystallization, both on the surface and in the stone support, which has caused serious pathologies such as laminations and material disintegration. For this reason, laboratory studies are being carried out with different lime mortars that can be used in the restoration with full guarantee. In this paper, the comparative results of stability against salts crystallization cycles on two kind of traditional lime mortars are presented, and the influence that organic additives have on the improvement of resistance is evaluated.
