Resumen
This document describes a theoretical-practical proposal that entails the transformation of an environmentally fragmented, overexploited, and underutilized agricultural matrix. It can also serve to modify non-harmonic landscapes with similar structures and functions observed in natural ecosystems with features such as resilience, strength, elasticity, and fragility. Through a multidisciplinary approach and using mainly productive ecological restoration tools, the theoretical-practical framework, an action plan, and an example of real-life implementation of the restoration of degraded and fragmented biocultural landscapes in two indigenous communities in Mexico that dominate the tropical regions of Latin America are discussed here as top results. Thus, we defined the basis for establishing complementary and retributive agroforestry landscapes with biocultural values and biological and social resilience, to provide economic benefits for local inhabitants and the population in general. It is concluded that biocultural resources and their sustainability may be approached in social terms and dynamic equilibrium, which integrates the essential elements of territoriality.

Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the issue of solid urban waste (USW) in the community of Las Vigas, in La Costa Chica region of Guerrero, Mexico. It was a mixed-methods study involving observations, surveys with 56 citizens, and interviews with 42 key informants. Through observations, problems in USW management were identified, including inadequate practices such as lack of separation and improper disposal of USW, as well as citizen attitudes reflecting a lack of environmental awareness. The survey revealed socioeconomic deficiencies and a low perception of USW pollution (63% of respondents). 68% perceived social consequences of pollution and had some knowledge about interventions such as waste separation and recycling, indicating a need to promote skills and knowledge about environmental culture. Economically and politically, 46% considered waste to be a problem requiring joint action between society and authorities to implement sustainable USW actions. Interviews provided sociopolitical and socioenvironmental insights. It is concluded that USW is indeed a problem, necessitating responsible and sustainable management within the community.

Resumen
The aim of this study is to examine the association between educational level and the incidence of violence against women, using data from the 2021 Mexican National Survey on Household Relationship Dynamics. It focuses on women older than 15 years old and employs logistic models to investigate this association. Findings indicate a negative association between education and violence against women. Furthermore, violence is positively associated with violence experienced during childhood and age, and it is more prevalent among women in Central and Southern Mexico. The study suggests that access to education, both free and equal, could play a crucial role in preventing and eradicating violence against women.

Resumen
The competency-based approach seems to be a viable alternative to evaluate research learning in the short and medium term. The objective of the study is to describe the research skills and experiences of Mexican higher education students and their stability over time. It is a mixed study in three stages: in the first stage, a questionnaire was applied to 151 Mexican students; in the second stage a qualitative evaluation was carried out on a group at the end of a Research Methodology course; and in the third stage, these students were followed up a year later. The competence most developed by the participants was the methodological domain, the lowest scores were presented in the domain of oral communication and written communication, while the one-year follow-up shows that the students maintained the acquired competencies. It is necessary to emphasize the development of communicative competencies in research courses and establish systematic monitoring of their learning.

Resumen
In Sinaloa, Mexico, rainfall is intense and can cause floodings in rural and urban areas. Although the risks cannot disappear entirely, deficient urban planning, poor drainage system, and accumulation of waste increase the vulnerability of the population, generating inequality derived from urban conditions. Through 160 surveys applied to dwellers in three of the most important cities of Sinaloa: Los Mochis, Mazatlán, and Culiacán, this work evaluates the losses suffered per household as a result of a flood incident. Losses of at least $70 256 Mexican pesos (3800 USD considering 18.00MXN/USD currency exchange in 09/06/23) per home were estimated, in addition to a significant devaluation of the properties. The study concludes that a socio-environmental justice approach should be adopted to ensure equal vulnerability reduction for all families, instead of the current approach of compensation and transfers which solves nothing in the long-term.

Resumen
In this work, an analysis of susceptibility to landslides in the municipality of Ecatepec de Morelos, Mexico, using the Mora Vahrson methodology for cartography generation is presented. The objective is to focus on and identify the areas most prone to landslides. Geological, geomorphological, and land cover data were collected, which were analyzed and weighted according to the criteria established by the aforementioned methodology. The resulting map showed low, medium, and high susceptibility levels to landslides. Areas of medium and high susceptibility are characterized by slopes between 10º and 38º, in strongly dissected mountainous terrains, where the neighborhoods Santa María, Tierra Blanca, Santa Clara Ocotitla, and the subdivision Social Progresivo Santo Tomas Chiconautla are located. The information obtained provides high importance considering the urban growth of the municipality and the need to occupy safe areas.

Resumen
The objective of this article is to identify the risk factors of the socioeconomic and cultural environment that influenced the differentiated spread of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the 24 Peruvian political regions. With regional information corresponding to 2020 and 2021, multivariable linear regressions were carried out with the ordinary least squares method. Results found indicate that the levels of covid-19 infections are positively associated with the formal employment rate, the number of health establishments per 100 000 inhabitants, access to drinking water from the public network, and violation of health regulations; however, they are negatively associated with the number of doctors per 1000 inhabitants. In conclusion, the differentiated spread of the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate between Peruvian regions is related to socioeconomic and cultural risk factors.

Resumen
In the current digital era, the proper management of information has become a cornerstone for educational institutions. This study focuses on the Information System for Digital Education (SIDigital, from its Spanish acronym) of the University of Guanajuato, analyzing its effectiveness and efficiency through user perception. Based on a mixed cross-sectional design, its implementation and operation are evaluated from the users' perspective. Results indicate that SIDigital has significantly optimized processes, reduced response times, and improved overall user satisfaction. Despite its benefits, areas for improvement were identified. SIDigital is presented as an important tool in the digital transformation of the University of Guanajuato, underlining the importance of robust information management systems in the field of education.

Resumen
This research focuses on proposing a procedure for the rehabilitation of abandoned mines of stone materials. The procedure is applicable to different geographical contexts where restoration from an ecological perspective is needed. In this work such procedure is applied to the mines of San Pablo Autopan, Estado de México. It begins with documentary research, which allowed the analysis of the information and the collection of cartographic data containing geological-environmental and ecological information of the site. In addition, physical, social, and regulatory indicators are assessed (current environmental regulations for each country). A recreational use was proposed for the affected site, where people can practice recreational activities, such as hiking and sports. The application of the proposal in the abandoned mines of the San Pablo Autopan community could reduce the inadequate disposal of municipal solid waste and its subsequent negative impact on the environment.

Resumen
Annual, seasonal, and monthly average variations in PM2.5 concentration were analyzed in relation to meteorological parameters and recorded wildfires in the city of Guanajuato from 2016 to 2020. The annual variations in average PM2.5 concentration exhibited a direct relationship between temperature and wind speed, with averages of 12.5 and 12.7, slightly exceeding the maximum allowed limits in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Seasonal average variations in PM2.5 concentration showed an inverse relationship with wind speed, precipitation, and relative humidity. Anthropogenic wildfires occurring during warm-dry months were positively related to the increase in PM2.5 concentrations. Low PM2.5 concentrations were found to be related to periods of high wind speed, high precipitation, and high relative humidity.
