Th ere is a widespread situation in the Villa Clara Medical School. Th is has to do with an increase of verbose language spoken by professors and the incorrect use of vocabulary and syntax, which has resulted in stereotypes due to recurrent use. Th is fact aff ects the professional communicative competence and logically contradicts the principles and rules of scientifi c communication. Th erefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the contradiction between the abovementioned linguistic irregularities and the characteristics of scientifi c language. During the research, theoretical methods were applied —analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction—, and empirical methods —observation and document review—, besides the systematic exchange with professionals of the school. Th is allowed analysis and systematization of the collected data to arrive at reliable conclusions. Most recurrent lexical-syntactic errors and stereotypes were verifi ed: stereotyped words and expressions, non-accepted fashion words by the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language and lexical improprieties. In short, the situation denotes cognitive lack of linguistic rules and principles in the speech of professors. There is a tedious and monotonous atmosphere that aff ects the verbal image and signifi es the antithesis of scientifi c communication, which is based on precision, clarity, and concretion of the message.

The purpose of this study was to assess the anatomopathology of exostosis and its secondary preventive effects as a case report. The 46-year-old patient was registered at the Dentistry Clinic belonging to the National University “San Luis Gonzaga” of Ica, Peru, where the evaluation of the aforementioned ailment was carried out through the biomedical design of the longitudinal-observational study. Among the reports mentioned, pain in the posterior molars during chewing, low hearing, abrasions in the anterior teeth, bilateral swelling in the externalized mandibular body (lower part) and difficulty in oral communication were reported. Diagnosis included anxiety (which led to the presence of onychophagia, nailbiting), smoking habits, chronic otitis and medication of alendronate (bisphosphonates). The radiograph indicated a 5.0 mm mandibular exostosis. During the completion of the clinical history, the practice of swimming was described from an early age and probably could be the cause of chronic otitis. Th e scientifi c literature revealed that exostosis is frequent in people from 20 to 30 years of age in whom temporomandibular dysfunctions related to bruxism are associated with depression, anguish and uncertainties. Th e medication of alendronate for osteosporosis and smoking habit in the face of anxiety perhaps acted in synergy causing auditory exostosis.

A list of freshwater mollusks of medical and veterinary relevance for the Department of Jutiapa Guatemala is reported for the first time, including ten species belonging to the families Planorbidae, Pilidae, Th iaridae, Physidae, Hydrobiidae and Bulinidae. Three variants were used in the collections: 1) the different substrates and adjacent vegetation were removed with a bronze sieve, 2) the stones, leaves, and all submerged and fl oating objects (including vegetation) were individually examined or washed in a tray, and 3) the wet and muddy area that borders the hatcheries was checked using a clamp for manual collection. In each variant, after screening, all the contents were poured into a white plastic tray to separate the mollusks. The relative abundance per species was calculated in each hatchery. A brief description of the medical relevance and preferred breeding sites of Melanoides tuberculata (Müller, 1774) and Tarebia granifera (Lamarck, 1816) in natural and polluted habitats was included, as well as for Biomphalaria sp. in freshwater. Reference (voucher) specimens are deposited in the Department’s malacological collection with their respective deposit number.

In the research it is proposed through interviews, participatory workshops, talks and socio-cultural encounters to link the inhabitants of the town of “Viana” located in the municipality of Cifuentes in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba, to the knowledge of Invasive Alien Species (IAS) and their undesirable eff ects to the vulnerable Cuban ecosystems and to human health and to the knowledge of the species Herpestes auropunctatus Hodgson, 1836, the mongoose. For the effective development of this research, theoretical and empirical methods were used to address the multilateral study of the research object. Th e research represents a novel way of appropriating new knowledge about the species H. auropunctatus on the part of the inhabitants that inhabit this community. In the interviews conducted, it was found that some inhabitants had certain knowledge about the mongoose, but not about the harmful effects that this animal cancause to vulnerable Cuban ecosystems and human health. 100% of respondents agreed that the main local problem is the loss of poultry due to the attack of the mongoose. Through these activities spaces of exchange and reflection were created about the importance of knowing important aspects of this IAS. This link of cooperation and awareness allows a rapprochement of the villagers with researchers and the feedback of scientific knowledge with popular knowledge. The workshops, talks and socio-cultural meetings were assessed as relevant by the different external evaluators.

The aim of study was to evaluate the prospective planning for the formative development of learning about the methodology of scientific research in university students through accelerated modality. A differential prospective route was considered through accelerated training between April 22 and 26 (replica I) and from April 29 to May 3, 2019 (replica II) which was directed to, students of the 10th academic cycle belonging to the Faculty of Civil Engineering of National University San Luis Gonzaga of Ica, Peru. Two variables of interest were considered for analysis: 1st), responsibility before the social recognition of graduation (RSRG) and 2nd), number of project proposals to present (NPPP). The RSRG was evaluated by means of assistance and the advance on the practical activities developed in class. The RSRG was evaluated through assistance and progress on practical activities developed in class. The NPPP was evaluated by the percentage of compliance on the methodological structures formulated according to the format of research thesis project. The attendance and advance on the practical activities developed in class by the students decreased by day in replica I but remained in replica II. The NPPP in replica I was low (3) compared to replica II (18). It was considered that the efficient prospective route for learning the methodology of the research was the production and research on the theme proposal to be developed according to the recognition of the variables to be measured by the students.

The present investigation was carried out on the Albacora platform of Lot Z1, 10 nautical miles from the coast of the districts of Corrales and La Cruz, Province of Tumbes - Tumbes, Peru and consisted in evaluating the quarterly spatio-temporal variation of the marine phytoplankton of the year 2014. The environmental variables were taken as sea surface temperature, salinity, pH and dissolved oxygen. 100 samples were collected in total. The phytoplankton samples were collected on the surface, by means of a network of 75 u of opening with a diameter of 20 cm, by surface trawling in a craft fishing vessel at a speed of 3 knots for 5 min. A total of 201 species was recorded between diatoms and dinoflagellates, with diatoms predominating with 119 species. The spatio-temporal variation of the phytoplankton registered greater richness and abundance in stations E-4 (2 km, southwest of the Platform) and E-5 (2 km, southeast of the Platform) during the second quarter at an average surface temperature of 25.5°C, salinity 33.2 UPS, pH 8.1 and Dissolved Oxygen 5.9 mg·L-1, values that are within the water quality standards (ECA), according to DS°002-2008-MINAM (Ministry of the Environment) of Peru. Regarding phytoplankton diversity indices, the dominance of diatoms over dinoflagellates in E-1 stations (500 m northeast of the Platform, in favor of the current), E-2 (500 m northwest) of the Platform, against the current) and E-3 (Plataforma Albacora), was recognized during all the quarters of the year. The presence of Chaetoceros coarctatus Lauder 1864, Guinardia striata (Stolterfoth) Hasle in Hasle & Syvertsen 1996 and Ceratium breve (Ostenfeld & Schmidt) Schröder 1906 related to the increase in temperature and typical of Surface Equatorial Waters (AES) are reported as phytoplankton bioindicators.

Bacterial resistance to antibiotics has become an important public health issue that involves human medicine, veterinary medicine, food and environmental safety in Perú. This work, developed in a private laboratory located in the city of  Lima - Peru,  focused on the phenotypic and genotypic detection of Escherichia coli (Escherich, 1885) strains that produce extended spectrum β-lactamase enzymes (βLEE), isolated in poultry. A total of 185 isolated bird samples of E. coli from 26 intensive breeding companies located in Peru were evaluated. The results reflected that 38.4% of strains with the presence of ESBL confirmed phenotypically; Likewise, genes were expressed from total DNA by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) obtaining 33.5% between the blaTEM, blaSHV and blaCTX-M-1 genes and 4.9% of E. coli strains producing βLEE phenotypic, no gene bla determined. As a conclusion, there is a high presence of E. coli strains that produce extended-spectrum β-lactamase enzymes (βLEE), with the blaCTX-M-1 gene being the most frequent.

The aim of study was to propose a learning model for the generation and cognitive technological reach in biomedicine. From the key words: learning model, cognitive technology domain, biomedicine on the ScienceDirect platform, a search was made of the last three complete years (2018, 2017, 2016) and published work until the present date of 2019. Only the research articles and the journals were considered: Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine; Future Generation Computer Systems, Computer Science Procedures, Computers in Biology and Medicine, Data & Knowledge Engineering, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Social Science & Medicine. The Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine journal presented the largest number of articles. There were statistically significant differences in relation to the rest, but there were no articles that showed cognitive models for technological learning during professional training. A model was proposed that starts with the mission of teaching that guides the priority social problems. These, in turn, make it possible to develop pedagogical approaches to generate technological information and cognitive technology domain, which can be a guarantee during the process of professional training in the field of biomedicine.
