This work will be carried out in Babahoyo, in Los Rios province, (Ecuador). The objective is to design a rice production system in order to achieve the monoculture sustainability of this city and to establish the sustainability indicators to evaluate this rice production system. The methodological scheme to be used will be as follows: by designing the proposed forest fences, it will be possible to establish a rice production system in which crop rotation would also take place. The forest fences will be defined by alternating the production of inga (Inga edulis Martius), guayacán (Guaiacum sanctum L.), and mango (Mangifera Indica)on the perimeter walls of rice fields; while there will be a rotation of rice (Oryza sativa L.) and soybean crop (Glycine max L.). Throughout the year, rice will be cultivated during the wet season and soya during the dry one. The transformation of the rice monoculture into a Sustainable System of rice production would be achieved so that the rice farmer will not have to rely only on the production and commercialization of this grass. With soya and inga farming, the system will also allow nitrogen fixation in the soil and, because of the nature of soy roots, soil compaction will be prevented. The proposed agroforestry system is expected to contribute efficiently to carbon capture. In phytosanitary terms, crop rotation will interrupt the biological cycles of cultivar pests.

The trend of the world today is oriented to the search for systems that consider a rational and efficient use of energy, where resources are used to the maximum, maintaining the quality of goods and services. The public lighting system is not exempt from this reality being necessary to evaluate it under an energy efficiency indicator that allows us to know if an adequate use of energy is available. The indicator used in this work is the Density of Power for Street Lighting (DPEA) proposed by the Technical Regulation of Lighting and Public Lighting (RETILAP), this indicator considers the total load connected for lighting and the total area illuminated in meters Squares (W/m²). The main objective of this work is to present a summary of the calculation of the DPEA for the road network of the city of Cuenca and based on this, to identify the ways that comply with this criterion. In order to achieve this objective, a measurement of the parameters necessary for the calculation of the DPEA was carried out and in this way to present the pathways that use energy efficiently. With the information obtained, a minimum DPEA was also established that allows to know if the roads are correctly illuminated, however, given the different conditions under which the measurements were made, the results must be analyzed and contrasted in future research.

Developing software is certainly not easy work, for this reason there are several methodologies to facilitate the process in the development of projects, in this case Software Engineering. The agile development methodologies allow better results, in the course of the life cycle for continuous improvement in the development of the product based on learning, innovation and changes continuously in order to improve the quality, reliability and security of the software. On the other hand, we have more traditional proposals that focus especially on the control of the process, establishing rigorously the activities involved, the effects that must be produced, the tools and notations that will be used, being very effective in some cases, but also, presented problems in many others. Agile methodologies are revolutionizing the way of producing software, and at the same time generating a broad debate among their followers and those who, due to skepticism or conviction, do not see them as alternatives before traditional methodologies. In this article, through a bibliographic review, the aim is to demonstrate the impact of agile methodologies at the moment of developing software especially Scrum and Extreme Programming (eXtreme Programming, XP), which is considered the most popular agile methodology in the present.

Today's society has been influenced by the proliferation of information and communication technologies (ICT). The evolution of these technologies has facilitated the access to all kinds of information, causing a considerable increase in the interactivity among people from different parts of the world. Additionally, the use of technology allows us to be more efficient in the use of resources, housing, improve services, and solve the transcendental problems of citizens. The area in which this research focuses is the impact of technology on housing promotion. Consequently, the objective of this research is to analyze the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (Connectivism) on the Promotion of Housing in the city of Quito and Portoviejo - Ecuador. This investigation was a comparative study between Quito and Portoviejo. A survey was applied to 319 homeowners for sale or rent in the city of Quito and Portoviejo - Ecuador. From which, 232 surveys were conducted in the city of Quito and 87 surveys were conducted in the city of Portoviejo. The analysis of results was carried out applying text mining and the use of the statistical tool of study R. The results of this research have shown that the use of technological means predominantly contributes to offer housing in the cities of Quito and Portoviejo. Thus, it is concluded that the Information and Communication Technologies (Connectivism) are impacting the promotion of housing in the cities of Quito and Portoviejo - Ecuador.

The research is about press photography and the discourse it produces. The photographs that show the EZLN guerrillas with balaclavas have different functional meanings. Beyond its military security function, the anonymity of the EZLN guerrillas achieved a different reach within the collective imaginary. The balaclava became an expressive element, associated with activism and positive propaganda such as equality or freedom. The denial of identity amplified the advertising impact of the insurgent movement. We analyzed 299 photographs collected from January 4, 1994 until December 30, 1994, of which 114 are from the newspaper El País, 122 from El Mundo, and 63 from ABC. For this article we have analyzed the symbolic value of the balaclava and specifically of five images that we understand are relevant to the development of our argument. The balaclava is used as a form of secrecy. Using the balaclava implies a new identity, becoming a guerrilla. The civilian population makes use of the balaclava or uses handkerchiefs to hide their face in order to show empathy for the EZLN or the identification with the ideology. The most relevant conclusions are that the balaclava serves to protect the identity. In the Spanish press analyzed, the balaclava loses its association with the criminal and takes on an aspect of justice. The balaclava becomes a symbol of intergenerational equality and a propaganda force of the ideas of the EZLN.

This article presents the results of an exploratory research on the different manifestations of social integration of Cubans settled in Mexico during 2019. Through a preliminary study in the State of Puebla, we present the results obtained and contrast them with previous research regarding patterns of migration and social integration of Cubans in Mexico. Emphasis is placed on the implications in light of the changes in the normative dimension of the current Cuba-Mexico-United States immigration system. The primary findings demonstrate the increasing trend of the migratory flow, suggesting the hypothesis of a change in the pattern of establishment, of a staggered one, with the ultimate goal of arriving in the United States, to one with a project of permanence in Mexico. It concludes the new ways of inquiry, with an extension of the time frame and the establishment of migratory cohorts before and after 2017, year that appears as a key in the establishment of the surveyed study subjects.

Through this paper we present a theoretical perspective on the concept of value and proposals for its implementation. We analyze the evolution of values and their particularities through different generations. This will allow us to appreciate the evolution of the concept and its particularities. Focused on values, we aim to link the study of values from perspectives that contribute to reveal and raise awareness of the transversal importance of values in educational projects and reforms that impact the life and development of new generations. The results of this historical analysis confirms the importance and potential provided by a value-oriented education.

This documentary and qualitative research, based on the theories and concepts established by Johan Galtung (1964, 1969 and 2003), has two objectives. In first place, to reveal the basic ideas of peace, conflict and violence that were build by the online written Ecuadorian (El Universo, El Diario, El Comercio, etc.) and International press (France24) during the events that occurred in October of 2019, after the 883 decree was known. Once this review is concluded, the second stipulated objective is to propose some guidelines that could be carried out in the UTPL classrooms. This review is carried out in several Ecuadorian institutions selected from the notions raised by Berger and Luckmann (2003 [1968]): University, Church, Civil Society, opposition, etc. The study shows that any collegiate career could support peace and conflict from a positive perspective; but it also proposes that the UNESCO subject of Culture and Education for Peace of the UTPL extend its work through classes -Ethical and moral, for example - administered by scientific, technical and humanistic careers.
