Resumen
Political engagement and disaffection patterns are analyzed among four relevant groups of citizens based on their levels of partisanship and cognitive mobilization. The results reveal significant differences between groups, with those with a higher degree of cognitive mobilization (cognitive partisans and apartisans) exhibiting superior levels of internal political efficacy and less political apathy than groups with low values on this variable (ritual partisans and apoliticals).

Resumen
The covid-19 pandemic has impacted the digital public sphere considerably, causing influencers to reflect on their work and social responsibilities. Users and virtual communities have articulated the need for information to be provided to them on informal political spaces characterized by the coexistence of leisurely and entertainment activities. This exploratory qualitative study is based on in-depth interviews of 13 Peruvian influencers with varying levels of influence and hailing from different regions. Such an exploration facilitates an understanding of the influencers’ coping strategies in this scenario as well as their perspectives as media citizens. We conclude that the relationship between influencers and their communities can assume high levels of civility and social commitment in a critical context; such a relationship is further enhanced by means of content that integrates information and entertainment.

Resumen
Based on a 2019 survey conducted before Bogota’s mayoral elections by the Universidad de La Sabana’s Media Observatory, we seek to identify the nature and characteristics of the transformation of the political culture that led to the election of Claudia López, the first female mayor in the city’s history, and their impact on political affection/disaffection among voters. An electorate mobilized more by causes than parties seems to break from a scenario of institutional distrust and misinformation, generating results that show a change in the pattern of electoral behavior of Bogota’s citizens.

Resumen
In this article, we analyze the social representations produced by the discourses of three current Chilean telenovelas and their contribution to the citizenship education of young people. From a qualitative and narratological perspective, the analyzed productions allow these audiences to self-identify with characters, problematize citizen issues based on the fictitious situations presented by these stories, use explanatory categories to solve the dilemma at hand, and critically analyze the stories, which are fundamental components of citizen education.

Resumen
This paper evaluates the models of female subjectivity in the most viewed Spanish TV series during the period of economic recession, as interpretive accounts of the ideological tensions underlying a context that rethinks the role of women. The qualitative analysis applied to ten coprotagonists of these fictions, shows female characters lacking leadership and proactivity in the public sphere, whose natural competencies are limited to resilience to adapt to the austerity that has occurred, and who act as a moral contrast to the male entrepreneur by updating gender stereotypes in the neoliberal imaginary.

The article starts from the objective of analyzing the way in which the conditions of journalistic production in Cuban independent media are manifested in reference models of professional practice. Theoretical-conceptual references were assumed for its study at the transnational, of structure and normativity, of extra-media relationships, operational-organizational and individual levels. It was based on in-depth interviews with media professionals and documentary research. It is argued that oppositional models of multiple intervention are generated in the analyzed media.

Resumen
This article analyzes how the ownership structure and the alliances between the agents producing serialized fiction for television are linked to the themes and narratives addressed by this type of cultural product. From the political economy of communication and cultural studies, the paper examines the predominant themes in the 100 most watched premiere fictions on open television in Argentina during the decade between 2011 and 2020. It is concluded that there is a wide predominance of universal themes with non-structural local references, over purely local ones.

Resumen
This paper intends to discuss the relationship between media competence and fan culture, focusing on content creation shared on Twitter by fans of the Limantha ship, from the Brazilian telenovela Young Hearts (Malhação: Viva a Diferença). In order to reflect on how telenovela social issues were explored in the content shared on Twitter, we adopted Ferrés and Piscitelli’s concept of media competence. We concluded that, in addition to deepening themes dealt within the plot, fans expanded and resignified discussions based on correlations with personal reports.

Resumen
This paper focuses on the results of research into how LTBI+ women are represented in Spanish original fiction series broadcast on streaming platforms. Analyzing the content of 749 characters shows a slight under-representation of non-heterosexual orientations, a greater representation of GTBI+ men than LTBI+ women, and no trans male or non-binary characters. Finally, stereotypical female traits are accentuated in LTBI+ characters compared to cis-heterosexual women.
