Resumen
The research analyzes the construction of LGBT+ characters and plots in Spanish serial fiction shown on distribution platforms in the last decade. It uses critical discourse analysis, which is divided into macro level and micro level analysis. The microanalysis is composed of topics, lexicalization and propositional framing. The results show, among others, that the majority of characters appear in marginal contexts, that recurring stereotypes continue to be used, and that LGBT+ orientation and identity are presented in a negative or ambiguous manner.

Resumen
This essay presents the need to incorporate the affective and bodily dimension in communication research. The theoretical perspective is framed in the “Affective Turn” and in the studies on corporeality, from which is presented a proposal of conceptual articulation between body, communication, and emotions. The methodological strategy is based on documentary research and interpretation. The essay provides elements to think about human communication from a point of view that transcends the media and integrates the corporal and the affective as basic axes.

Resumen
This essay aims at tackling the picture of the Spanish Postwar period as it can be inferred from Carmen Laforet’s short-length production, mainly published in the Fifties and, being commissioned literature, peculiarly characterized by a short and compressed elaboration. Through an analysis of her seven short novels and several short stories, the focus of the study developed here is the appreciation of the colorful plasticity through which Laforet manages to portray a variably traumatized society, in a context of capillary control and censorship upon culture, and thorough suppression of any anti-triumphalist point of view.

Resumen
In the city of Buenos Aires at the beginning of the 20th century, a police publication entitled Galería de Ladrones Conocidos was released. It compiled a series of photographic portraits and filiation data of suspects and recidivists who frequented police stations. By revealing the relationships and tensions between racial categories and photographs, I will analyze how police classifications configure a dynamic of hyper-embrace visual whiteness. At the same time, the paper presents the idea of mestizo images which makes it possible to dislocate the hegemonic notion of miscegenation conceived as a process of social whitening.

Resumen
This article seeks to problematize the struggle for ethnic rights of isolated indigenous people in southern Rondônia, a state in northern Brazil. From the film Corumbiara (2009), by Vincent Carelli, it follows the bet on choices and destinies of historical subjects devalued in the country, when not massacred, as in the 1985 episode, presented in the documentary. This production is also inserted as a source in the field of the historicity of the resistance of native peoples, since the images and recorded dialogues instructed a judicial process of interdiction of the area against those violences.

Resumen
The purpose of this article is to analyze the novel Serpa Pinto. Pueblos en la tormenta (1943) by Giuseppe Garretto, from the point of view of history, historiography and literary analysis. Published for the first time in Spanish despite the Italian nationality of the author, this novel went unnoticed by critics. We aim to study the historical context of the work references and the publication of the first edition, in order to situate the work as part of the literary historiography of the exile of European refugees in Latin America. Moreover, we analyze the literary characteristics of the novel, as well as the narrative remembrance strategies used by the author.

Resumen
The article focuses on Brazilian production for children and intends to deepen some of the strategies aimed at sanctioning the subordination of Afro-descendant characters. By adopting Lobato’s Tia Nastácia as a model of negative and stereotyped representation, we will try to shed light on the most common representations which, for a good part of the twentieth century, will stigmatize – from a visual and textual point of view – the Afro-descendant population by negatively affecting on the self-perception of black girls and boys.

Resumen
This paper analyses the activities of the Bacle lithography in Buenos Aires, and its ambivalent relationship with the governments of Juan Manuel de Rosas. This story is read in the light of two wider phenomena that were affecting the Atlantic world, namely the diffusion of new forms of visual politicisation linked to republicanism and the construction of interconnected and interdependent market economies. The lithography permitted and was sustained by the two aforementioned processes.

Resumen
Women's ageing has been an invisible life process, equated with men's old age. In Chile, this phenomenon was exacerbated by the Pinochet dictatorship and the establishment of the neoliberal model that is still present. With the 2019 protests, a group of older women mobilizes by creating embroideries that claim fundamental rights of which they have been deprived. This study analyzes their embroideries as a visual tool, performing other possibilities of relating to the world and to people from their own trajectories, proposing transformations for the new constitution.

Resumen
The article focuses on the relationship between image and text in children's illustrated books. Some classics of Latin American literature adapted for children are analyzed in the framework of the Biblioteca Billiken published in Argentina, between the 1940s and 1980s of the 20th century, especially designed for girls. The pedagogical and protective vocation of the collection and its conservative orientation within the Argentine publishing scene seems to be attenuated thanks to the presence of the illustrations, which gives rise to a potential way of reading less linked to the order of the discourse.
