Resumen
This article studies the history of compensated sex between men in Latin America in the 20th century. The study has two goals. On one hand, exploring how the changes affecting male compensated sex are inextricably intertwined with the transformation of homosexual identity in the recent Latin American past. On the other hand, analyzing how the study of the same topic offers tools to rethink the political discussions about the status of prostitution, especially vis à vis the abolitionist/regulationist debate.

Resumen
A corpus of portraits of transvestite women in the Mexican Revolution is analyzed as a "counter-archive" (Curiel), in the sense of investigating it from an alternate perspective to find other facets of its visibility, and as a "queer curatorial practice” (Gopinath) in which a decentered approach is envisaged, which contributes to the reconstruction of memory; since despite their diffusion, these portraits remain "in(visible)" to our gaze, that is, "as images that dispute their irruption in the visibility order, but that do not finish appearing in it" (Rodríguez-Blanco). Thus, this analysis adjudicates the "right to look" (Mirzoeff) at these images, as a corpus of turncoat portraits of canonical visualities.

Resumen
This research proposes a balance of the studies that have been carried out on LGBTIQ+ practices in Colombia, from the last decades of the last century to the 2000s, establishing the categories and literary genres through which it has been deepened in relation to the most innovative theories in the field of gender studies. The purpose was to investigate the levels at which the research proposals have these practices as an object of study in the light of cultural and feminist studies. Through this perspective, the advances achieved in the artistic, cultural and political fields by the protagonists of these stories are reviewed, including especially the transvestites, and the drag queens.

Resumen
The Mexican ballroom community made up of trans, transvestite and non-binary people uses sociodigital platforms to co-produce images-data and support their culture. However, its algorithmic visibility becomes surveillance and capitalist sieges that extract its data, practices, and symbolic resources to generate capital. This article analyzes both data on Instagram and interactions with brands to reveal the collaboration and care strategies that this community deploys. I use data mining software at a crossroads with digital ethnography for collection, visualization, and analysis.

Resumen
This paper dwells on the challenges of globalisation and the hegemonic power structures that govern the relationships between the north and the south, and how it is possible to stablish epistemological and practical alliances between decolonial feminism and queer theories. Furthermore, the plethora of views on the topic allows us to construct connected theoretical frames, that gives us the ability to create non hegemonical and emancipated politics. This research analyses the main theses of decolonial feminism to establish a connection with other theories and to provide answers to the current global needs.

Resumen
This paper proposes a reading of Las aventuras de la China Iron (2017) in relation to the literary canon and the ethnic imaginary in Argentina, to the language of a State that constituted itself as monolingual, and to heteropatriarchal hegemony. For this purpose, I use contributions from cultural (Jameson), gender (Haraway) and anthropological studies (Cadogan, Melià, Clastres), which ratify how the novel challenges pre-established orders, whether it is species, class or gender; or even ethnic, cultural and linguistic that nourish the national imaginary.

Resumen
How to escape censorship when graphic art is under surveillance by an authoritarian government? Which subterfuges can artists use to enforce their message, so to make themselves understood by their audience? These are the two questions inspiring the following paper, which analyzes the production of Belmonte, a famous caricaturist from São Paulo who gained prominence between the 1920s and 1940s. Guided by a Cultural History of the Political and by the documentary method for analysis of images, the article demonstrates how the Brazilian artist experienced and managed to overcome censorship during Getúlio Vargas' Estado Novo. In particular, one of his main strategies, i.e., the performativity of the caricatured characters, is scrutinized.

Resumen
The aim of this dossier is to question, revisit or problematize in Ibero-America the notion of minority, the identity approach to sexuality, of community, and that address the queer as a possible escape from narratives and identity representations of sex-gender diversities. In particular, we seek to problematize the queer/queer and the dissident body of the gender-sex norm as possible assemblages against social and cultural structures, and/or that study the sexual and the drive erotica as a space for political vindication and the politicization of the body, not only to demand the recognition of civil and human rights for people, but also to escape from the identity logic of its capture, no matter what it is (lesbian, gay, trans, queer, non-binary, bi).

Resumen
This article addresses the analysis of the evolution occurring in Latin American feminist cinema with the short films Barbie también puede eStar triste (2002), Pets (2012) and the feature film -defined as lesbo-feminist porn- Las hijas del fuego (2018) by Argentine director Albertina Carri. This process traversed by Carri attempts to overcome what was sustained by feminist film theorist Laura Mulvey (1975) regarding the scopophilic gaze of men and the traditional sexual conception of women in conventional cinema and, specifically, in pornographic cinema.
