Resumen
The main purpose is to study the age of road transport in Minas Gerais, from the post Second World War to the end of the military regime. It is explored the internal and external factors that conditioned the implantation of the Brazilian most extensive road network, considering a periodization that picks up fluctuation and the cycles of constitution of the integrated transport system. It is analyzed the road infrastructure expansion according to the economical, technical and political matrixes that ruled the second transport modernization process, as well as the dynamic of grant, financing and road building. It is concluded that the age of road transport in Minas Gerais was fundamental to its peripheral insertion consolidation into the Brazilian interregional market. Minas Gerais was crossed by important national roads and was secondarily benefited, only ensuring the link between the regional centers to the national roads.

Resumen
The inflationary experience of Latin American economies of 50’s has been explained by two theoretical lines, the monetarists and the structuralists. An alternative explanation is the book of Ignacio Rangel The Brazilian Inflation, originally published in 1963. Employing Marxist and Keynesian concepts, such interpretation is not widely known even in the Brazilian economic thought history. This paper aims to explore the Rangel’s contribution, comparing it with the mainstream contributions in 50’s. Specifically, it introduced the Rangel’s criticism to monetarism and structuralist theories, discussing its features and original findings on the Brazilian inflation.

Resumen
This article makes a comparative study on the evolution of the petrochemical production in Mexico and Argentina in the decades of consolidation, boom, and abandonment of the substitutive industrialization of imports. This industry was a fundamental link of this economic model. In the first place, and to better understand the context in which the industry was developed, we study the emergence and development of the petrochemical industry both in the world and in Latin America. Then, numerous variables are collected and analyzed on the sectoral evolution in the two countries to which this text refers; special attention is given to those related to the productive, market and external balance dimensions, as of the six petrochemicals goods considered "basic", fundamental inputs for the rest of the industry. Thus, we can identify both the common features in the economic strategy of both countries as well as those characteristics that distinguished the evolution of the Mexican petrochemicals from the Argentine between 1950 and 1990.

Resumen
This article analyzes the role of importing and exporting houses in the Port of Santos between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, seeking to evaluate the role of these firms in the process of integration of the world coffee market. Amid the prosperity of grain exports, a number of foreignhouseholds became interested in transporting agricultural production and acted as agents for insurance companies and stocking houses. We also analyze the performance of importing houses and their relationship with Brazilian industrial capital formation;throughout the text, empirical examples drawn from primary sources are cited.

Resumen
This paper proposes to discuss the national question in Nelson Werneck Sodré’s works on Brazilian history and its crucial moments between the Independence process and the revolutionary conjuncture in the decade of 1960 (1822-1964). In Sodré’s perspective, national question emerges from “people” struggle against the deleterious conditions imposed by imperialist domination. Our hypothesis is that these crucial moments canonly be understood in the contest of capitalist’s crisis in its imperialist period, since the First World War and the Russian Revolution, considering national and anticolonial struggles as one of its expressions.

Resumen
The establishment of a treasure’s administration in the Rio Grande captaincy was settle up in the early of the 17th century and is understood here as part of a process of conquest that began with the arrival of the conquerors in the captaincy. This period was marked by the installation of administrative apparatuses that represented the action of the Crown in the captaincy - among them the triad: Church, People of War and Royal Treasure. Thus, the article analyzes the mconjuncture of the foundation of tax bases in Rio Grande, as part of a series of policies of the Filipes for the State of Brazil in the context of the Union of Crowns. The creation of the Rio Grande Real Estate Ombudsman is divided into two main moments: the initial phase of establishment and the period of consolidation.
Keywords: Rio Grande; Taxation; Royal Treasure.

Resumen
This article aims to contribute to the discussion about the role of the state, and national trajectories in business expansion strategies of the last 50 years. For this, the history of the Canadian firm Bombardier, world leader in the manufacture of railway and aeronautical equipment, is analyzed. A developed country and a renowned firm were chosen to show that the globalizing discourse that since the 1970s proposesopenness and “free market” was adopted abroad from these nations. Because within countries, such as Canada, protectionist policies, corporate subsidies and export promotion with taxpayer resources were thebasis for the expansion of companies such as Bombardier. This trajectory was combined with the privatization of state-owned transport equipment firms in countries such as Mexico, in the 1980s and 1990s, giving Bombardier the possibility of acquiring capabilities and technology external that consolidated its global production network.

Resumen
The objective of this article is to present an interpretation about the hegemonic powers in action in the world coffee trade in the first half of the 20th century, considering the defense policies adopted by the largest producer (Brazil), the construction of competing producers and the delicate scenario characterized by Wars and the World Economic Crisis. It is worth mentioning the information presented by the main coffee producers in the American continent and in the world, the main ports of shipment in Brazil, as well as the main destinations of exported sacks. We used as source the Statistical Yearbook for the year 1948, published by the Secretary of Finance of the State of São Paulo, Brazil among other support works on the conditions of commercialization of the product on a world scale and recent works, which dealt with the subject, developed in Postgraduate programs

Resumen
The article analyzes the process of modernization of Brazilian agriculture. Begun in the mid-twentieth century, this modernization has enabled the country to become one of the world’s leading agricultural producers and exporters, occupying a prominent world position in many products such as soy, orangejuice, sugar, meat, coffee, ethanol, corn and cotton. Despite the modernization of Brazilian agribusiness, a large segment of lowincome fiscal and economic properties subsists, which incorporates millions of farmers dedicated to a subsistence activity.
