Resumen
Any curriculum must be continuously evaluating to be successful and of high quality in order to improve and achieve the full student´s formation. In fact, it becomes so important because it allows generating and obtaining significant achievements in the educational process towards a rational development and scientifically valid to face the current challenges. The aim of this research was to conduct the evaluation of the curriculum of Tourisms in the Amazon State University (UEA), through a methodology with a change-oriented epistemological approach. A participatory action research method was used, which consists of a systemic process where the participation of all actors involved in the educative process are required, even internal or external ones, because they have the deepest knowledge of their problems and reality. The results of the research shows the findings, failures, weaknesses and strengths as a base to solve them and promote the teaching quality which is one of the major educational challenges in the XXI century.

Music students require self-assessment strategies not only to determine if they have improved, but also to select the most appropriate practice strategies in case there is no improvement in order to overcome the technical-musical challenges. On the other hand, teachers must have valid and reliable assessment instruments that allow them to carry out an objective, realistic and fair evaluation of the student's performance. In this article, the author offers an in-depth literature review of four metacognitive high-level self-assessment strategies and proposes the use of the electronic portfolio from two perspectives: a) as a self-regulation strategy that help students to take greater responsibility for their own learning by monitoring and self-assessing their efforts through the collection of evidence that allows them to reflect and have a more realistic perception of their achievements; and, b) as an instrument that helps teachers to carry out a more comprehensive evaluation of the student's progress. It is hoped that the information provided here will foster a more holistic and effective musical practice and a more comprehensive evaluation.

Resumen
The objective of the present investigation was to discover the dominant learning styles of students from the first to the fourth level of the Systems Analysis Technology career, academic semester October 2015 - March 2016, with the purpose of improving their teaching process. To carry out this study, the following processes were considered: Elaboration of the state of the art around learning styles to know the different methodologies and results. The model used is the one proposed by Felder-Silverman, because this instrument is based on quality, reliability and validity, to discover the dominant learning style. For this study, the analysis process was applied, with its stages: Selection of statistical software, exploration and analysis of data and preparation of results, with the objective of identifying homogeneous groups of a group of students that were surveyed, the descriptive technique is used , through a clustering analysis. Free and open source software, Weka, was used because it allows implementing a variety of algorithms. The dominant learning style of students in the Career of Technology in Systems Analysis was: visual (VIS) - intuitive (INT) - active (ACT) and sequential (SEC).

Resumen
Learning a second language as it is the case of English, has become a number one necessity in the current world. The complexity of learning a second language owes to the big number of variables that act out in the process, and that inhibit or foster learning. Metacognition and metacognitive strategies constitute relevant mechanisms for learning a second language. This paper, on the one side, discusses the concept of metacognition from the existing models and strategies, and, on the other, from the instruments and training tools that are employed to monitor the participants’ cognitive processes.

The paper shows the gap between students and teachers regarding the use and management of basic and advanced information and communication technologies in the teaching-learning process, a quantitative investigation descriptive-interpretative and analytical type was carried ex-post-facto and data obtained through the application of a questionnaire has been presented; based on previous research that included the areas of equipment management, desktop software and internet specialized in education and research; it was applied to 133 teachers and 906 students from two universities in Ecuador, one from Quito and one from Guayaquil. It was observed that students use mostly Internet-based technology It was observed that students mostly use Internet-based technology, without this meaning that they do it for academic purposes (often for recreation); however teachers take advantage of or give more utility to traditional tools in academic activities such as PCs, projectors and so on. In the use of basic technology, the gap is small in these two groups, because university teachers are constantly training this type of technology, mainly because the study centers are looking for continuous improvement in their educational quality, in addition that there are policies and laws of the Ecuadorian State that allow the constant evaluation of universities in search of academic quality and improvement in the process of generating knowledge to obtain a University accreditation and in several of the indicators of this evaluation are the use of basic communication technology. However, the gap is much greater between students and teachers in the use of advanced information and communication technologies, but they are not used for academic purposes and are only used for leisure.

Resumen
This study addresses the importance of digital literacy and developing digital technology skills among teachers. This is a qualitative case study based on a digital skills survey conducted among the faculty of the National Experimental Security University (UNES)in Venezuela. The survey was scored according to the Cronbach Alpha Scale and had a reliability index of 0.75. The objective of the survey was to determine the digital competencies and application of these competencies in the classroom by UNES teachingstaff. The results of this study allowed us to confirm that most of the UNES teaching staff studied lack basic digital knowledge and showed strong weaknesses in appropriately developing their digital skills. A high percentage of the population group studiedexpressed a certain level of rejection of the learning curve required to embrace technology as part of their pedagogical strategy. Overall, 37.3% of the representative population stated that they lacked basic digital skills, had never received any digital orientedtraining and were only versed in using more traditional software such as Power Point. Among the different recommendations made was to plan teacher training workshops in the use of educational software and educational software design, for example, tobe update teaching skills required for effective use of the Internet in educational settings.

Resumen
The theme of this essay is located in the current studies on the quality of education and, in this case, the quality associated with the teacher's performance, this relationship appears contextualized in Latin America. The purpose of this work is to argue the significance and place of the teacher's performance as a factor directly associated with educational quality. Some basic ideas are supported: namely, Latin America has not met basic goals in terms of equity and justice in access to education, which represents a burden on the work for the quality of this service; Educational quality is associated with a set of factors including economic, political, cultural, scientific and technological factors, as well as an important human factor: the teacher's performance, which is vital according to the position held. In that order, the limitations that are presented today in the initial and continuing teacher training process are pointed out, as well as the challenges that must be faced as part of their performance to provide a coherent response that implies a quality education in the present century and the social, cultural and technological changes that are experienced daily. This essay is the expression of a theoretical systematization, based on inquiries from various sources on the subject, in which reports from international organizations stand out for their value.
