Resumen
Studies linking the statins effect over adipocytokines levels have reported controversies; therefore, it is necessary to contribute to elucidate the relationship between them. The objective of this study was to compare leptin and adiponectin serum concentrations, according to the statin regimen. Tha present is an observational, cross-sectional, and relational-level study. Data of clinical history for 76 participants were obtained, and leptin and adiponectin were quantified by using ELISA sandwich technique. The relational analysis was performed using U-Mann-Whitney and H-Kruskal-Wallis. Serum leptin concentrations were homogeneous and independent of the statin regimen; on the contrary, those of adiponectin were lower in those who consumed 40 mg / day of atorvastatin. Atorvastatin at 40 mg / day is associated with plasma adiponectin concentrations lower than adiponectinemia in participants who were treated with other statin regimens. It is important for the scientific community to research on these biomarkers in order to elucidate relationships that will allow a more accurate prediction of the impact, especially atorvastatin at intermediate and high doses, as a drug with greater benefits against cardiovascular events and metabolic syndrom.

Resumen
Included dental organs are associated with various jaws pathologies, among the most frequent are cysts, which are benign lesions that develop around the crowns from permanent teeth. The aim of this research is to propose a therapeutic algorithm and a treatment plan combined with two known techniques, in addition to describe clinical and radiographic findings and conservative therapeutic management. For this, gender and clinical diagnosis data were obtained from a series of 3 cases of dentigerous cyst, in which clinical, histological, radiographic characteristics and treatments used were described. In each case conservative surgical treatment was given accompanied by gauze soaked in nitrofurantoin. Because dentigerous cysts are the most common pathology associated with included dental organs, which can be detected in routine radiographic examinations, this must be corroborated with the histopathological study, allowing less invasive techniques, this work is based on a therapeutic algorithm and combined treatment plan, not only in children but also in adults, regardless of their size.

Resumen
Addressing nutritional issues requires contributions from other disciplines, including anthropology. Cover nutrition from this perspective makes it possible to take up the analysis of cultures in terms of socially determined and meaningful human activities. For this reason, the anthropology of nutrition arises, which focuses on understanding the relationship between eating habits and nutrition. Based on the above, these practices are understood as cultural phenomena, since they encompass material, historical and contextual conditions, customs, habits and rituals that go beyond the process of ingesting food.

Resumen
Generalized anxiety is a recurrent psychological problem in adults in the general population, being a risk factor for other physical and mental health disorders. Given these problems, it is necessary to have a reliable instrument to assess anxiety and identify probable cases. The aim of the study was to analyze the sources of evidence of validity of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) in Peruvian adults from the general population. Participants were selected by convenience sampling and inclusion criteria. A total of 567 adults residing in Lima completed the GAD-7 and another psychological instrument. Analyses were performed based on Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory. A unidimensional structure was evidenced with adequate fit indices, acceptable reliability, measurement invariance for sex and age, evidence of relationship with hopelessness and adequate α and β parameters for the items, being the scale more useful in high levels of anxiety. In conclusion, the inferences and interpretations made from its scores are adequate in Peruvian adults, recommending its use to assess generalized anxiety and perform comparative analyses without measurement bias for sex and age groups

Resumen
Empathy is a fundamental component in the doctor-patient relationship, considering it as an appreciated attribute in the professional practice of doctors; thus, the existence of instruments that allow its measurement in a valid and reliable manner and that are adapted to the cultural characteristics of the population is indispensable. In this sense, the objective of research was to adapt and validate the cognitive and affective empathy test (TECA) in health professionals from the department of Córdoba-Colombia. Construction validity is limited through confirmatory factor analysis in a sample of 800 participants which yielded a second model of adjustments within the acceptance limits: RMSEA = 0,083, CFI = 0,929 and TLI = 0,919. In addition, it evaluates the frequency through the ordinal alpha coefficient, obtaining satisfactory values for each of the dimensions, with scores ranging from 0,79 and 0,90. Finally, the results of this study conclude that the TECA (Cognitive and Affective Empathy test) is a tool that allows to assess empathy in health professionals in a valid and reliable way.

Resumen
In included teeth the remnants of the follicular sac originate from odontogenic cysts such as the dentigerous cyst. This cyst is generated by alteration of the epithelium of the enamel organ after the complete formation of the crown due to the accumulation of liquid between the layers of the adamantine epithelium. Radiographic and histopathological studies are used for the diagnosis of these entities, however, the use of some of the odontogenic immunohistochemistry markers can be a diagnostic aid. The aim of this study was to determine the expression of Cytokeratin 19 protein in biopsies processed during 2018 - 2020 of dentigerous cysts and follicular sacs from the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology service of the School of Dentistry of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. A case series study was carried out with 20 blocks with a previous histopathological diagnosis of dentigerous cyst. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was performed and later immunohistochemical labeling with Cytokeratin 19 was performed. The results obtained demonstrate the usefulness of cytokeratin as an immunomarker, particularly for the diagnosis of incipient lesions.

Resumen
A descriptive integrative review was conducted to explore the literature on the role of family caregivers in managing and administering medications to their relatives with chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCD). Databases were searched using the MeSH and DeCS terms drug therapy, drug administration, medication adherence, role adoption, family caregiver, and chronic disease for publications between 2010 and 2020. As result, twenty-seven articles were selected and analyzed. Three main themes were identified: 1) response to caregiver’s role, 2) caregiver’s role organization and management, and 3) execution and performance of caregiver’s role in using medications. It is concluded that connecting learning resources, organizing their activities, and becoming skilled in responding to their family member’s pharmacological needs are strategies that evidence the adoption of the caregiver role in medication management.

Resumen
To identify the presence of occupational dysphonia (OD) based on the vocal disability index (VHI) and the integrated vocal disturbance index (IPI) in a group of teachers in the city of Cali. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between January and February 2019. All participants completed the VHI questionnaire and underwent an acoustic voice analysis to estimate the IPI. Data from 30 teachers were analyzed, of which 22 were women, 80% (24) were over 45 years of age. By means of the VHI, it was identified that all teachers experienced some degree of vocal impairment with a median of 41.5 points (interquartile range: 33.7 to 65.7), while with IPI 40% (12) had abnormal values (IPI≥2). No relationship was found between VHI scores and IPI values (p>0.05) The findings of this study highlight the high risk of OD among teachers due to their professional practice, so it is essential to generate a national program for early detection of vocal risk that includes promotion and prevention activities.

Resumen
The aim of the study was to estimate the prevalence of suspected child abuse (CA) in pediatric dentistry clinics of a Colombian public university. Descriptive study in 100 parent-child pairs aged 6 to 9 years and dental students. A questionnaire was designed and applied, inquiring about sociodemographic variables, general suspicion of CA and suspicion of CA was clinically evaluated according to injuries in the child. Descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis were performed using X2 test. The results show the prevalence of general suspicion of CA was 12% and of suspected CA according to orofacial lesions 24%; the most prevalent extraoral and intraoral lesion was laceration (10%). Significant relationships were found between general suspicion of CA with tearing of the labial frenulum, multiple scars, burns suggestive of CA, bite marks, contusions, and lip laceration (p<0.005) and between suspicion of CA according to orofacial injuries and inadequate clothing, evidence of pain in the body, inadequate management of bodily injuries among others (p<0.005). It is concluded that in pediatric dentistry clinics in the university setting, suspicious lesions of CA can be presented from the general and orofacial evaluation.
