Resumen
El propósito de este trabajo es dar a conocer cómo la migración de los trabajadores agrícolas mexicanos a Canadá ha repercutido en sus hábitos alimenticios. La transferencia de las prácticas culinarias, en tanto que son valores simbólicos de una sociedad, influyen en gran medida en la percepción que los migrantes y sus familias tienen del cambio de hábitos culturales que los afecta de manera definitiva. El proyecto se inició en 2003 con entrevistas a los migrantes o a sus familiares para que nos informaran sobre las prácticas cotidianas de dichos trabajadores. A su regreso al hogar, los migrantes vuelven con nuevos modos de vida

Resumen
Having in mind the political, social and demographic context in which massive diffusion of contraceptive methods took place since middle 70’s, this text shows how male participation was marginalized from medical orientations about couple contraceptive practice. Nevertheless, some academics developed valuable theoretical and analytical efforts to include men’s experiences in the study of reproduction and its control. We present some results of qualitative research that have studied meanings and values that men give to reproduction and contraception.

En el presente artículo se examinan el proceso y las condiciones contemporáneas del retorno de migrantes mexicanos de Estados Unidos en contextos urbanos, con el propósito de discutir las implicaciones del retorno y la reinserción social y laboral en el actual escenario de la crisis económica de los mercados y la implementación de políticas de reforzamiento de la seguridad en la frontera México-Estados Unidos. El objetivo principal es analizar el retorno como resultado de la articulación y dinámica de mercados de trabajo globales.

Resumen
Al reconocer los distintos procesos psicosociales que intervienen en la construcción del concepto de imagen política se analizan las atribuciones mediante las cuales los ciudadanos asumen su participación y elaboran su preferencia política. Los datos se obtuvieron mediante cuestionarios mixtos, con preguntas abiertas y cerradas utilizando escalas tipo Likert, a fin de identificar sus valoraciones acerca del contexto político. Se muestran los resultados de un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo que permiten la discusión y la reflexión teóricas, así como la formulación de hipótesis y directrices de indagación relativas a los procesos psicosociales que activan la participación política.

Over the two hundred years of Paraguay's history, there have been three national Anthems: the first is the one so-called Himno Primitivo, it corresponds to the time of the dictatorship of Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia (1811-1840), it was composed by Anastasio Rolón and it simply talks, in Guarani language, about the need of protection against invasive nations. The second one was written in 1846 by the Uruguayan composer Acuña de Figueroa, who, by a fortuitous event, —I support Rivera against Rosas— sent a patriotic anthem to president Carlos López; it is a complicated, alien text, composed in an "international" style, whose unique reference to Paraguay is the mythical allusion to its leaders: Yegros, Rodríguez de Francia and López. The third anthem, composed by Natalicio Talavera, encouraged Paraguayan resistance during the Triple Alliance war (1864-1870). The first anthem consecrated the Rousseaunian wisdom in Paraguay, the second one, legitimized in 1934, a fictitious glory; the third one the people's courage.

Resumen
In this article we take into consideration self-translation tools used by Juan Rodolfo Wilcock in Poesie spagnole (1963). Translation studies offers a general approach about the way in which the author works with his own texts and the cultural and linguistic preconceptions he relays on. By doing so, through this analysis, we try to link the author’s image to his rewriting decisions based on the comparison of the original texts of this Argentinian writer and their Italian versions.

Gender violence is always present in wars. Women’s bodies have been used, raped and beaten in view of physically and morally destroying the enemy, as Rita Segato states. Over the Peruvian armed conflict, between 1980 and 2000, a large number of women were victims of aggression and intimidation. Most of these cases were not officially denounced, but have been retaken by various artistic expressions. An instance is the novel Bioy, written by Diego Trelles Paz in 2012. This article analyzes the fictional representation this contemporary novel makes of the violence exercised on female bodies in the context of the Peruvian anti-subversive fight.

Resumen
The essay intends to briefly outline some of the semantical and symbolical implications, in the social imaginary of the Spanish cultural world, of the figure of translator as a social actor, through a textual and etymological journey over the history of two words that in former times designated the practitioner: faraute and ladino. A beam of revealing ideologemes unfolds from the componential analysis of the nuances of the meanings of the two words, from the picaresque novel to dictionaries, among other textual genres. There emerges a negative side, subterranean but pertinacious, born from the distrust that the translator may be, worse than an incompetent, a fraudster, overlapping the semantical-symbolical space of the translator with that of other traditionally suspicious trades (e.g., the actor), or with belongings to historically marginalized groups such as the Jews in Spain, and the indigenous in the American continent.
