Resumen
Every communicative experience entails an intended, literal content and an instinctive communicative increase. The former is consciously elaborated whereas the latter flows as an involuntary emanation. Beyond the denotative and connotative elements in any work of art, they ooze a simultaneous discourse, the discourse of the gesture, which truly shows the idiosyncratic pulsions of the artist. Thus, the dance of complementation of opponents of reason and pulsion, prose and poetry, ethos and pathos, is entangled in the canvasses by Velázquez giving rise, in a happy synergy, to the work of art itself, whose gestural plasticity is nourished by the same throb with which some of the more relevant artistic manifestations of the 20th century would be nourished later.

Resumen
The angelic hyerarchy, structured by Dionisus the Areopagite since 5th century, did not have a wide iconographic development, however it can be seen in works, above all, from Late Medieval Age. In this paper, we dealt with an iconographic coding born in West Andalousia in the first half of 18th century and based on a 1713 engraving included in the Capuchin Fray Feliciano de Sevilla’s Trisagio especial devoto. We analyse five unknown paintings located in churchs in Lebrija, El Puerto de Santa María, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Arcos de la Frontera.

Resumen
José González y Giménez, a sculptor born in Granada who played an important teaching role in different academies in Ecuador and Spain, spent his last years in Cordoba. Being little known its production and his life, there was a total ignorance of the circumstances of his last years. Thanks to the hemerographic sources and to unpublished documents from the archive of the Real Academia de BBAA de San Fernando, we have been able to reconstruct his last moments as a teacher and als the bitter years that passed until his death. In this paper we address the situation of González y Giménez in his last years of life, as well as the role played by other artists in his retirement

Resumen
This paper provides a study of two sculptures preserved in the Canary Islands that can be attributed to Blas Molner (1738-1812), based on references previously published by other researchers and unknown archival documentation that helps to understand its existence. It proposes a contextual analysis, focusing on its value with a historical, artistic and commercial approach.
