Resumen
This paper studies the connections and influences of the Byzantine world in the chivalries book Tirant Lo Blanc by Joanot Martorell, written almost a decade after the Fall of Constantinople, but published in 1490. In the novel, historical elements of Byzantium appear to show its connections to West Europe, such as the journey of Roger de Flor and the Catalan Company to help Byzantium in the early 14th century and the diplomatic relations between The West and the last Palaeologue Emperors, among others. All of that is shown into the literary character of Tirant.

Resumen
In this article we analyse a recurrent visual element used at the Euripidean trilogy made by the Greek-Cypriot filmmaker Michael Cacoyannis based on the tragedies Electra, The Trojan Women and Iphigenia at Aulis. Chariots that carried women and horses rode by men become a powerful symbol of the women’s inescapable fate and the men’s pride and arrogance. By using this cinematographic resource, frequently associated by the director to women stasima, it’s effectively emphasized the report against the abuse of authority hidden in the original texts.

Resumen
There are many perspectives from which we can approach the vision and consideration of women from Antiquity to the Middle Ages (legal, literary, etc.). In this work I start with the analysis of Aviano’s fable I and then proceed to tackle the sources on which this fabulist drew. Additionally, I will also focus on the different versions that came out from the original text, many of them with a clear misogynist intention.

Resumen
This paper is an analysis of the treatment of the classical Greco-Roman world in the opera seria of the 18th century, whose dramatic conventions were established by the Italian poet Pietro Metastasio. It also examines the way in which characters and themes from the history, literature and mythology of Greece and Rome are dealt in the librettos of the first operas and theatrical serenades of the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Resumen
The novel Las noches del Buen Retiro written by Pío Baroja has an intrinsic relation with the topic of the fugacity of the life. But it also contains many parts that have to do with the world and the classical culture. In this paper we try to highlight them.
